Palin hits Obama for 'terrorist' connection

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/10/04/art.bopt1004.gi.jpg caption="In remarks Saturday, Gov. Palin sought to link Sen. Obama with 1970's radical William Ayers, according to a statement released by the McCain-Palin campaign."]

ENGLEWOOD, Colorado (CNN) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Saturday slammed Sen. Barack Obama's political relationship with a former anti-war radical, accusing him of associating "with terrorists who targeted their own country."

Palin's attack delivered on the McCain campaign's announcement that it would step up attacks on the Democratic presidential candidate with just a month left before the November general election.

"We see America as the greatest force for good in this world," Palin said at a fund-raising event in Colorado, adding, "Our opponent though, is someone who sees America it seems as being so imperfect that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."

Palin made similar comments later at a rally in Carson, California.

Obama's Chicago home is in the same neighborhood as Bill Ayers, a founder of the radical Weather Underground that was involved in several bombings in the early 1970s, including the Pentagon and the Capitol, and the two have met several times since Obama's 1995 campaign for an Illinois state senate seat.

How does this help the ECONOMY!

There were two ways McCain couls have gone now that the polls are not in his favor. He could get a stronger footing on the ecomomy by coming up with a sweeeping p;an that would help familes. Or he could try attacking Obama's character again.

I would have prefered the fromer but it seems he chose the latter. This means he has no clue opn how to help the economy. I am sorry but I could care less on whether Obama knows people who have had charges "dropped" on being a suspected terrotist. This is silly

Here come the swift boaters! No ideas, no ethics, no integrity, but plenty of finger pointing and name calling. Isn't eight years of this enough? Lastly, if Ayres is a terrorist and out on the streets, isn't this another example of Shrubs failed efforts to capture or kill terrorists?

Dispicable! The Keating five saw America as perfect enough to steal from. You can't even name one newspaper that you read to keep you informed of the basics of current affairrs. Palin has shown over and over again that:
    1) she is disrespectful of authorities and people. (did you observe the condescensions during the convention and the debate? The McCain camp has vowed not show one ounce respect to Sen. Obama and Sen. Biden. This drives indies to Obama's side.

    2) she is not the bi-partisan politician she claims to. she is just phony and the American people can read through the folksiness.

    3) she is empty, devoid of tangibles. Remember the saying 'Empty barrels make the most noise'? What she has managed to bring to the 2008 race is nothing but NOISE!

    4) She is Flirtatious, winking and hoping men will fall for her. Sorry, Sarah, this is not a beauty contest.

same old fear tactics applied by OLD REPUBICAN MACHIN. American people are smart enough to make their judgement based on fact and not fear mongerinscaring tactics appied in 2000 and 2004.

For the life of me, I cannot understand why anyone in the right mind would even consider voting for the Wrinkly/Winky ticket. They do nothing BUT LIE!! And the animal abuser air-head wants MORE POWER as VP than DICK CHENEY!!!!

We need to put Wrinkley out to pasture, and we need to send Winky back up to the tundra so she can serve out her one and only term as Governor and fry herself on her freaking tanning bed.

Barack Obama has not been honest about his past and current connections..the media needs to wake up and explore these past connections as they do reflect on the judgement of the man. Obama supporters will call this dirty, but lets be honest, if this was anyone else, democrats especially would be demanding to know why Obama has maintained ties to people who terrorized this country and was mentored by a man who clearly dislikes this country.

Why wouldn't she lie, we have proof she cannot read.

Couric the low-life hate filled “gotcha“ journalist, trapped poor, picked upon yet vivacious Palin with a “pop quiz” unfair question, “.Name something specifically you have read to help form your world view?”. Pitiful and helpless Palin’s response was “…blah, blah, blah, ‘all of ‘em‘ blather, blather, blather…”.

Can that be found in fiction or non-fiction?

For someone who is refusing to take responsibility and cooperate in investigation in her home state of Alaska, she's making awfully big mouthed claims.
Besides, when is she going to release her tax returns. Joe Biden has released his. I have a feeling it's because that 'snow town' girl is as the media has eluded, a multi-millionaire like McCain.
And, after some of her more recent comments, it's looking more and more like she's probably a RACIST too.
That's quite a mix for someone vying to be VP.

So much for McCain's pledge to not question a person's patriotism. He'll try to paint this as a issue of "judgment", but when you say “This is not a man who sees America as you and I do – as the greatest force for good in the world," I have a hard time believing that.

This is pathetic politics, and Americans will see through it.

And what ever happened to the NYT not being a reliable and unbiased news source? I thought we couldn't trust what they wrote?

This claim is nonsense and again points to the desperation that McPalin are feeling. If this is the best they can come up with, then they are going to lose going away, as we are seeing now.
And, by the way, why is this a headline on CNN.com anyway?

SImply amazing that the Republicans would do this. I guess sometimes it easier to say factual wrong things about your opponent and try to tear down them than it is to present something new, exciting and from a "maverick" team. Same old stuff, broken record, last 8 years all over again.

Palin thinks it's o.k. to forego the problems in her own state and turn a blind eye to everything she has done, but yet tear down everybody else. Even after an Alasksan Supreme Court justice ruled, they are still trying to overturn the ruling. Guess the same rules don't apply to both side.

Do as I say, not as I do.

    What a joke.

Since Palin mentions "connections" how about the well-documented personal friendship has with convicted banking criminal Charles Keating.

Keating now only gave campaign contributions to McCain but provided gifts such as 3 free vacations to his Bermuda resort. According to a Senate investigation...Keating is said to have connections to the criminal BCCI which literally did business with terrorists.

And so it begins, the corruption of Palin. Just when she got back some type of slight credibility with her "C+" debate performance, she is spouting talking points that will turn off independents and allow Obama/Biden to win in a landslide.
