Palin hits Obama for 'terrorist' connection

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/10/04/art.bopt1004.gi.jpg caption="In remarks Saturday, Gov. Palin sought to link Sen. Obama with 1970's radical William Ayers, according to a statement released by the McCain-Palin campaign."]

ENGLEWOOD, Colorado (CNN) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Saturday slammed Sen. Barack Obama's political relationship with a former anti-war radical, accusing him of associating "with terrorists who targeted their own country."

Palin's attack delivered on the McCain campaign's announcement that it would step up attacks on the Democratic presidential candidate with just a month left before the November general election.

"We see America as the greatest force for good in this world," Palin said at a fund-raising event in Colorado, adding, "Our opponent though, is someone who sees America it seems as being so imperfect that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."

Palin made similar comments later at a rally in Carson, California.

Obama's Chicago home is in the same neighborhood as Bill Ayers, a founder of the radical Weather Underground that was involved in several bombings in the early 1970s, including the Pentagon and the Capitol, and the two have met several times since Obama's 1995 campaign for an Illinois state senate seat.

McCain and Palin should be ashamed for casually making such an absurd and unfounded claim. What happened to McCain's promise of a positive campaign? Is this still his pay-back for Obama not having the town hall meetings McCain wanted - or is he just hell-bent on slinging anything his cronies can dream up to distract from the economy? I'd love for Obama to ask him to "prove it" at the debate next week...

What an act of desperation! Next, Obama will be accused by the McCain campaign of triggering every dispicable act since Adam and Eve!

Surely, Americans will see through this gross misrepresentation.

This from a woman who (along with her husband) is defying a legally-issued subpoena.

How can she question a person's "pals" when the country should be labeling her as a criminal?

Here we go. McGimmick is trying to change the game, but I think that the American people has finally moved away from stupid attacks.

Maybe Obama needs to mention the McCain's Keating 5 connections, veterans that served with McCain who tells a different story about McCain.

Instead of speaking on real issues like Economy, War and health care they talk about Aiyers and Wrights. Today our lives are affected by Economy and War. So why speak unrelated issues.
Who cares for Palin or Mc'Cain anyway.

Typical Republicans, they can't win on merit, so the nasty distractions are hurled at voters in endless loops of MAD-RUSH and EVIL-HANNITY repeating the same vile lies over and over like demented fools.

Who do they take us for? We have vetted Barrack and accepted him, nothing in his nature is close to being a terrorist. I'd rather have intellectuals for friend than that nasty piece of work called Sarah Palin. She only knows how to attack, at least a pit bull senses danger before attacking, but Sarah, No way! It is her nature to give these cutting, biting comments. She'll definitely start the third world-war that Bush could not get off the gorund for sure with her evil wit. Mad dictators in the world will believe her to be attacking them with her evil snares and McCain will add to it with his temper and boom we're in another war that will surely diminish America's super power status. Then they'll call for an emergency bailout!

Where do these people come from? Using their fake patriotism, lies, distractions, and endless sarcacisms to defraud honest, hard working Americans. I pray God's severest judgment upon them all... SOON!!

Both campaigns should spend less time digging the dirt and focus on the issues.

Most of what I hear these days from the Republicans is regurgitation of the FoxNews rabid anti-Democrat propaganda machine. There's a bit of truth to most everything either side says, but that doesn't mean the whole is true.

The McCain-Palin ticket should have more integrity.

America lost 160,000 jobs in September, and 200,000 more homeowners lost their homes in September, and THIS is what the McCain-Palin ticket wants to talk about? This non-story? Wow...these people are REALLY out of touch.

Sarah: you don't even have a clue what's going on. You have been so well scripted by the McBush pundits its sickening. You've been up in the tundra to long, this is the real America down here. I imagine the pony express hasn't reached Alaska yet but this is all OLD NEWS, if you even call it news. FOX has run it into the ground along with many others so what makes you think your comments are going to make any difference??? You and first dud need to go back home and maybe catch up on what's happening in the world. Give it a break!!

Madam Christian, maybe you can tell us how and why you and you husband support Alaska Secede from the United States of America.

Of course you and you McCain are not interested in the economic problems facing the country.

People like you make sinner look like saints. Just wait you will get the full weight in this election.. Alaska won’t even have cold for the heat that will come to you. America is ready for deal with double lipped fools like you.

The McCain campaign is finally broadening its interest in terrorism. Until today it seemed that Islamic Terrorism was all one word to them. Now that they are reaching back more than forty years to ferret out dangerous geriatric terrorists, we should expect they will be condemning the much more recent violence against family planning clinics and practitioners.

The real issue is the economy. Given Governor Palin's penchant for deflection, it is understandable that she has undertaken this mission. Besides, stunt pilot wasn't availbale today. He is resting in one of his many nests.

It amazes me how these "God Fearing" right wing conservatives who claim to rely on their faith to lead them in the right direction can spout such half-truths and out and out lies.

Perhaps they have forgotten or think they are above God's Ten Commandments. Specifically Commandment #9, Thou shall not bear false witness, (lie).

Or, perhaps they believe it doesn't apply to them as long as they pray for forgiveness.

They are nothing but a bunch of hypocrites!

Not only is Palin's comment out of touch with reality given that Obama was eight years old when Ayers was politically active, she is conveniently ignoring the fact that she is MARRIED to an individual who less than ten years ago belonged to a party intent on separating Alaska from the USA. How desperate are these fools going to get??????

What a sad, pathetic, desperate little man John McCain is. In fact, what a sad, pathetic, desperate little party the GOP has become.

Here we go. The McCain/Palin"terrorist" attacks against OBAMA have official began. No surprise here. McInsane and his crew have nothing else to hang on to. Why won't they want to spend their time and money in trying to come up with solutions to the economic crisis, to balancing the $10 trillion deficit, the two ongoing wars, healthcare, social security, unemployment, housing crisis, ETC. ETC. ETC. ETC. ETC. which are so devastating and plaguing this country????????

Perhaps if he (McCain) did this, his hypocritical slogan of "Country First" would be believed.
