Palin hits Obama for 'terrorist' connection

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/10/04/art.bopt1004.gi.jpg caption="In remarks Saturday, Gov. Palin sought to link Sen. Obama with 1970's radical William Ayers, according to a statement released by the McCain-Palin campaign."]

ENGLEWOOD, Colorado (CNN) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Saturday slammed Sen. Barack Obama's political relationship with a former anti-war radical, accusing him of associating "with terrorists who targeted their own country."

Palin's attack delivered on the McCain campaign's announcement that it would step up attacks on the Democratic presidential candidate with just a month left before the November general election.

"We see America as the greatest force for good in this world," Palin said at a fund-raising event in Colorado, adding, "Our opponent though, is someone who sees America it seems as being so imperfect that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."

Palin made similar comments later at a rally in Carson, California.

Obama's Chicago home is in the same neighborhood as Bill Ayers, a founder of the radical Weather Underground that was involved in several bombings in the early 1970s, including the Pentagon and the Capitol, and the two have met several times since Obama's 1995 campaign for an Illinois state senate seat.

Sarah needs to go back to Alaska and start over.
She portrays herself as an attack dog and she is
    nothing but a blow hard.

Her foreign policy advisor is the lobbyist who tried to
sell the Iraq war to the general public. Does this
give you any idea of the scare tactics she will employ to
    get her and McCain elected?

I can't wait for her to be a dim memory.

This is sickening, though not surprising. When one campaign can't argue on this issues, they argue on erroneous facts.

When I was eight, I hung around with terrorists? Come on Ms. Palin, keep digging this huge hole. No one should believe what comes out of your head/mouth. I do know Bay Buchanan is all ears!

The Republican attack is becoming more pathetic by the minute!

Wait for more whoppers to come!

This woman is a disgrace and very ignorant. Does she realize that Barack Obama was only 8 years old when those bombings took place? I find Sarah Palin to be extremely offensive in every way.

This is one more case of the Republicans tryng to deflect attention from their own inadequacies in this campaign. Their latest strategy is to fling mud in as many directions as possible and hope it sticks somewhere. Anything to draw attention away from Palin and her husband disregarding (breaking) the law in regard to their subpoenas and McCain's key advisors recent and strong links to Freddie and Fannie. Not to mention McCains's failure to lead in the recent bailout votes (3 of his 4 even his Arizona representatives did not follow his lead). Etc., etc., etc. Obama is a good man of great intellect, substance and judgement. Biden also is a man of like qualities who showed us at the debate that he is a man we can rely on. I look forward to the real change they can provide.

They don't have any plans so all they can do is incite fear. Remember this is a person who made the willingness to ban books a litmus test for job loyalty. A person who can't name a newspaper she reads. A person the claims Putin "rears his head" and flies over Alaska. A person who, in her quest for power, will say anything, however nonfactual or incoherent. Chosen by a man with supposed experience, as a ploy to gain votes.

    Truly Scary.

McCain/Palin are getting desperate. They have NO plans at all for fixing America's problems and can only resort to lies and smear to win. Don't buy it America !

this woment is a blithering moron.

Obama is the best thing to happen to this country. If anyone votes for McCain, you are losing a great leader and an inspiring figure. Any country would be ecstaticto have his as a president or a prime minister.

Obama, if the American people are not smart enought to know the best choice I would suggest you move to Africa, Unite the countries and become a force unlike anything before.

The McCain/Palin campaign is going to throw a lot of false stories out there to prey on the fears of low information voters. It's up to Obama/Biden and supporters to point out these lies.

Sarah Palin is not a very smart person, and these attacks will backfire.

These two are not mavericks. They are insane probably from their own homogenous ideas borne of their hatred for peoplewho are different. Palin and McCain have mutated, replicated and degenerated brains that are depleted of original ideas and thoughts.

    Please shut this pitbull up.

John McCain's tax cuts for the wealthy will REWARD the same greedy Wall Street types he vilifies for the creating this financial crisis.

How much sense does that make.

And by the way its time to mention The Keating 5, where McCain took cash to help out the S & !

    What did Palin say?
"This is someone who sees American as imperfect enough to pal around with terrorists who targeted their own country.”
That barely makes sense! Come on, America! We are not stupid enough to buy this!

No surprise. Even with the claim of how well Palin did in her debate, the only hope the Repubs hold out now is to attack Obama. Now would be their chance to promote true "maverick" ideas on how they would actually solve the main issue of our day – the economy. It's actually sad that they admit their best plan is to say Obama is a bad man rather than say they have an answer to our economic challenges. Politics is so disgusting – tear each other down. Please – focus on solving America's problems. Show us a "working together" model of how they can make things better. Attacking the opponent just doesn't impress as the kind of leaders I want. When I disagree with their plans, do they simply attack me for my own views rather than work with me? I sure wish these "mavericks" would get rid of the Repub play book on avoiding issues and attacking and show some true leadership – promoting how we can all come together for the betterment of our society. We need leadership, not attack dogs, even if they do wear lipstick.
