Palin hits Obama for 'terrorist' connection

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/10/04/art.bopt1004.gi.jpg caption="In remarks Saturday, Gov. Palin sought to link Sen. Obama with 1970's radical William Ayers, according to a statement released by the McCain-Palin campaign."]

ENGLEWOOD, Colorado (CNN) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Saturday slammed Sen. Barack Obama's political relationship with a former anti-war radical, accusing him of associating "with terrorists who targeted their own country."

Palin's attack delivered on the McCain campaign's announcement that it would step up attacks on the Democratic presidential candidate with just a month left before the November general election.

"We see America as the greatest force for good in this world," Palin said at a fund-raising event in Colorado, adding, "Our opponent though, is someone who sees America it seems as being so imperfect that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."

Palin made similar comments later at a rally in Carson, California.

Obama's Chicago home is in the same neighborhood as Bill Ayers, a founder of the radical Weather Underground that was involved in several bombings in the early 1970s, including the Pentagon and the Capitol, and the two have met several times since Obama's 1995 campaign for an Illinois state senate seat.

That the McCain camp would sink so low, while expected, is truly despicable.

It's typical for a candidate who's wrong on all the important stuff that affects the American people to try to change the subject to trivialities and baseless attacks on his opponent.

This is going nowhere. The only thing McCain is swiftboating are the remaining shreds of his honor and integrity. Shame on him.

The New York Times themselves have debunked this issue. I guess we are back to more of the same from McSame/Failin in that they have no solutions so they "kick the competition in the shins". You go you MAVERICKS you.....you shake it up....lol

The Geezer is as outdated as the "outdated patchwork quilt of programs" he thinks he can replace?

No more drama, just vote Obama!

I think the Mccain/palin campaign ought to realise that the world is watching and are tired of the ( attempted ) drift , away from the issues needing attention. The GOP ticket shouldn't come to the town square " naked " (without substance), they should let Americans into thier laid out plan.
What a shame, coming from the so called ' straight talk ' team.

Sarah is right-Obama is dangerous-not only because of his terrrorist connections but because of his Rev. Wright connection-

Obama has never answered the question: How do you sit in a church for 20 years if you don't agree with the racist sermons of your preacher?

    Answer that please Mr. Senator–

Oh my God! The McShame campaign is now in 'desperate mode'. Americans are tired of been hoodwinked and this swift-boat tactics is not gonna work this time. If the GOP think we're dumb enough to believe Obama should suffer for the crimes committed by one of his Illinois constituents when he (Obama) was just 8 yrs old, then that's another bridge to nowhere! We may have to look into Sarah and Todd Palin'c connections to the Alaska Independence party…Todd was a member of the AIP until a few yrs ago!!! ,,,and my neighbour did time for a felony, do I stop saying hello to him?

How can she leave her small child who will desperately need her? Children tease unmercifully and need their mothers unconditional love and pure motives.

Hey Palin, you missed this non-story last summer? You rather a bit behind the times.....

It must be because you were so loaded down reading every news magazine and news paper, like you told us you did.....

McShame is panicked right now, everything he pulled out of his hat is not working. Guess what? Neither will this! The McCain/Palin ticket is on the bridge to nowhere as far as this election goes. Just look at the polls!

Sarahs husband, the first dewd, Todd belonged/belongs to an organization, here in Alaska, wanting The State of Alaska to secede from the Union. With that organization having ties to known domestic terrorist organizations. As Cheney sez "so"?

It truly shows to McCain and Palins character that they will do whatever it takes to win. Instead of sticking to the issue's they are going to attack Barack not on the issues but Barack Obama himself.

If McCain truly wanted to put this country first then he would be out there putting forth his plan for this countries economy, healthcare and how he plans on fixing our image abroad instead of resorting to 5th grade tactics of calling someone names.

Seems pretty desperate to start slinging mud and twisting around the words of another in order to throw the attention off of your own shortcomings. But no worries... we love you anyway Sarah, gosh darnit! *wink*

it is a terriorist that we know. who did what almost any black radical group was doing in those days so lets not place our hands over our mouths. lets put them on sarah palin and pray that her mccain can get put there brains together and come up with a better attack at Obama's character and relationships to people. mind you she did not have to face racial adversity at that time she was in alaska. obviously trying to divert our attention from the real crisis which is the economy.

Sarah Palin is no independent thinker. She's capable of nothing more than being John McCain's puppet. She's a great actress who excels at memorizing lines. John McCain is desperate, and it shows with his selection of a VP running mate. Could you imagine her running our country, should something happened to McCain? I think it's scary.

Weii, it just goes to show you that she is at last reading a newspaper, even if it is old news. Instead of spewing hatred she should try to complete the new Bush biography-"White House for Dummies"

Goodness. How low will they stoop? Obama was 7 years old when Ayers was part of the Weathermen. Anyone with basic math skills should know that.
