Palin hits Obama for 'terrorist' connection

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/10/04/art.bopt1004.gi.jpg caption="In remarks Saturday, Gov. Palin sought to link Sen. Obama with 1970's radical William Ayers, according to a statement released by the McCain-Palin campaign."]

ENGLEWOOD, Colorado (CNN) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Saturday slammed Sen. Barack Obama's political relationship with a former anti-war radical, accusing him of associating "with terrorists who targeted their own country."

Palin's attack delivered on the McCain campaign's announcement that it would step up attacks on the Democratic presidential candidate with just a month left before the November general election.

"We see America as the greatest force for good in this world," Palin said at a fund-raising event in Colorado, adding, "Our opponent though, is someone who sees America it seems as being so imperfect that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."

Palin made similar comments later at a rally in Carson, California.

Obama's Chicago home is in the same neighborhood as Bill Ayers, a founder of the radical Weather Underground that was involved in several bombings in the early 1970s, including the Pentagon and the Capitol, and the two have met several times since Obama's 1995 campaign for an Illinois state senate seat.

The McCain/Palin can't win by telling the truth so they're making stuff up and continuing to tell blatant lies. Wonderful!, just freakin' wonderful!

Now.....maybe Sarah Soundbite has connections with terrorists – or at least who she views as terrorists – because she lives closer to Russia than Obama.

The logic of her and my statements is equally absurd.

She is truly pitiful, and just keeps embarrasing herself and digging her hole deeper and deeper.

Desperate times for desperate people make them say ANYTHING that will avert the negative buzz off themselves. The McCain/Palin campaign is deteriorating everyday, like the economy, so what else are they going to do? Spread lies and put fear into people's minds, that's what. Yeah, THAT'S the kind of leadership we want for America...YOU BETCHA. Palin is PATHETIC.

McCain is not a truthful man. Remember when he said he will get the criminal person or persons who ask for pork barrell and you will know their names, well guess what Sen. McCain just signed this recent bill with a bunch of pork barrell in it....and now you know his name SEN. JOHN MCCAIN. What a liar!!!!! Remember what you tell the american people. Yours lies do catch up with you. Another Bush in the making.

Dear John, Please don't take your eye off Ms. Palin. She'll say and do anything to get what she wants, and I think she wants to be Commander in Chief. She stabbed you in the back about your decision to stay in Michigan and she's willing to make bold faced lies about your opponent even when presented with evidence to the contrary. Watch out! This woman is a snake!

McCain and Palin are pathetic. If going negative and trying to smear your opponant is what you need to get ahead, then that is a pretty hollow victory. It does a disservice to the people of this country to distract the focus away from the issues that affect us all and into a campaign of attacks and defenses. With this tactic, we all lose.

I used to like John McCain back in the days but now he is a pitiful example of how a politician will sell his soul to get elected. And to think, he was the one who said he was going to run an honorable campaign.

This is such a shameful twist of facts, not only to Obama, but to all of the people in America who have been touched by and had their lives ravaged as a result of bona fide terrorism, both domestic and foreign. That someone who is seeking the vote of American's under the guise of "wholesomeness and honesty" would stoop this low in an attempt to distort something this grevious for the sake of spin ... well, it speaks more to the character of a demon than a saint. I think she may well experience some poetic justice of her own soon. This act of hubris may have opened her own Pandora's Box.

Ms. Palin didn't name which publications she reads recently. Therefore, she will slander Mr. Obama with a quick " sound bite," without reading and learning about the facts. Too many reports have spelled out in details Mr. Obama's relationship with Mr. Ayers. I hope the public will really read the facts - and see how she continues to spin "mis-truths. " She probably doesn't know anything about the McCarthy era...and how people were hurt by such tactics as those of the McCain team. I don't know how she can live with herself. Her depth of understanding is shallow - and she will try to win at any cost. If the election weren't so important, one could laugh at her antics.

I like it !!! People need to KNOW who the man is they are getting ready to vote for,NOT who he say's he is,but who he REALLY is !!!Most people are so unhappy and angry with Bush and the Republicans, they are going the other way,I understand that, but Obama ,who's your only other choice ,is not who he says he is.Judge him by the company he keeps.

    Obama/Biden working the people

    McCain/Palin working for the people

It's funny what politicians will say once the desperation kicks in. Palin/McCain are back on their heels big time. I personally can't wait to see their faces after these two lose. Palin is running the same strategy as Bush ran in 2000. Take a look at some of the clips that Olbermann put together on last nights show. The similarity is incredible, they are using the exact same strategy.

Palin is a genius. If I were running for president, that would be totally the way I would want to win the hearts and minds of America. Man, I just get a warm and fuzzy feeling inside when I think about going to the polls and voting out of fear. It totally rocks, it's like, dangerous or something. And let me tell you, I can't wait get rid of this uncomfortable and confusing sense of optimism that that Obama guy has been has been pandering. I just want to work at an unfettered primal level. And then there's all the free time I'll have to shoot nature and obsess about my sports team being better than your sports team when I don't have to think about the economy and foreigners all the time. So many wacky names and real big numbers. Stupid media. What self respecting Joe-6-pack hockey mom has time for that?

Obama=Terrorist. McCain=Maverick. We could of had this election over with months ago. The only thing that would make it better would be if there was some nuculer threat to boot. Wait...what's that Pat Robertson?... Nuculer attack between Nov. 4 and the inauguration....Woo Hoo, home run. U.S.A.U.S.A!!

Nice comment coming from the GOP cheerleader who is married to a guy that was a member of Alaska Independence Party until 2002. I guess after she expends her VP powers she will let Todd become the president of independent Alaska.

She lacks the credibility to change the minds of California voters. We have a large portion of educated professionals who know Palin has no
evidence that Obama has done anything inappropriate as a result of knowing Ayers when he was 8 years old. The same is true of the Chicago Rev. that the RNC claims is an Obama problem. CA will go Democrat in the GE.

I don't under stand how someone can just say thing like that and then just wake away from it. This is country first, no this is disgusting. I wonder what John MaCain fellow veterans think of him now. I wonder what Sarah Palin says wen she talks to God (Sorry but it the only way I can get what I want ) Wen do we start to call them on the lies ? How much do we have to take? This is not the American way.

    @ CHAR-

Absolutely brilliant comparison!! But you have to remember that neo-cons cannot stand facts and figures- like Stephen Colbert says, they go with their "gut"

Palin is fair game now. I honestly didn't think even SHE could go that low. Bring it on "Joe Six-Pack" AKA "Governor Nitwit"
