Palin hits Obama for 'terrorist' connection

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/10/04/art.bopt1004.gi.jpg caption="In remarks Saturday, Gov. Palin sought to link Sen. Obama with 1970's radical William Ayers, according to a statement released by the McCain-Palin campaign."]

ENGLEWOOD, Colorado (CNN) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on Saturday slammed Sen. Barack Obama's political relationship with a former anti-war radical, accusing him of associating "with terrorists who targeted their own country."

Palin's attack delivered on the McCain campaign's announcement that it would step up attacks on the Democratic presidential candidate with just a month left before the November general election.

"We see America as the greatest force for good in this world," Palin said at a fund-raising event in Colorado, adding, "Our opponent though, is someone who sees America it seems as being so imperfect that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."

Palin made similar comments later at a rally in Carson, California.

Obama's Chicago home is in the same neighborhood as Bill Ayers, a founder of the radical Weather Underground that was involved in several bombings in the early 1970s, including the Pentagon and the Capitol, and the two have met several times since Obama's 1995 campaign for an Illinois state senate seat.

Strong word from a woman who is ignoring the laws of this very country by failing to respond to the subpoena issued by the commission investing her abuse of power charges.

If Sarah Palin wants us to believe in the ticket McCain/Palin, she better starts speaking the absolute truth; because, all that come out of her mouth is lies. How come she claims to be a Christian? Being a Christian means speaking the truth no matter what.

Keating Five or Troopergate anyone? How about adultery, pill-poppring wives, and pregnant unwed mothers? Or better yet, how about Fanny Mae-Rick Davis ties, or Alaska's still investing in Sudan, following an outright lie about divesting during the Veep debate? Does this become fair game too? Please. Smells like deperation.

Stick with what you're good at I guess, not solutions, mudslinging.

Here's hoping this backfires, so we won't have to put up with as much of this in the next election.

Absurd attacks are all that is left when behind in the polls with only a short month left to go. Beware McCain-Palin, this is what the Clinton campaign resorted to when their backs were against the wall and look what happened to them.

She is becoming as reckless as McCain. I cannot even listen to their rants anymore. I will be so glad when November 4th is over and she is back in Wasilla.

Palin just keep it up, the more you open your mouth and wink that stupid wink you make your Republican ticket look more and more ridiculous. It's obvious to many she was an 11th hour choice to sway Clinton voters. I'll give my vote to Obama thank you very much this woman isn't following that clown.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The Alaska Supreme Court will decide whether to block the findings of an abuse-of-power investigation due to be released next week that could be potentially damaging to Gov. Sarah Palin's vice presidential candidacy.

I wish everyone could tell the courts i'am in a race for the white house so i dont have to obey the law

I am sick of GOP's swift boat style attacks. I think we should show the GOP on Nov 4th that we are sick of their tactics.

I guess Jim Henson really isn't dead. Apparently the Republicans have hired him as he is doing marvels with Palin.

Man, and I thought that Canadian politics could get nasty. This is pure schoolyard/sandbox tactics (or is that a strategy...?)

There is little else for McCain – Palin to get a hold of, there are taking the less honorable low road again. Desperation should not push a nominee to desperate measure.

America deserves better. The McCain – Palin is digging themselves a bigger hole than the abyss the are already in now.

The repubs are doomed this year.

Don't you love the "transparency?" Ok, when the polls show that we are about to lose, let's change the subject and attack on mythical personal issues. Instead of focusing on the issues (e.g., the economy, health care, Iraq) that Americans want to discuss, let's stir the pot up and make us scared of Barack "Hussein" Obama. Are we sure that we want to walk down that road (e.g., Troopergate, Bill Hagee, Jerry Fallwell, Keating 5, drug addict wife, etc). Let's keep the focus on the issues instead of the "typical Washington" approach. Oh, maybe I'm mistaken, but I thought that they were the "maverick team" of change that would reform Washington? Looks like the Mcsame 8 previous years!

That's what I like to see...a "Post Turtle" puting country first. Making you quilty of another's acts when you were eight years old. I bet she doesn't even know why the Weathermen did what they did.

I like how the McCain campaign is feeding her lines to spit out. Too bad she's not a critical thinker.

Sarah Six-Pack, You GO Girl! Let's not talk about relevant issues like the economy, foreign policy, the Supreme Court or Health Care. Obviously, we all just want to hear you slime the black guy! Gosh darn it, you are just SOOO good for our country - exactly what we need right now in this time of crisis.

I really hope that the old geezer bites it before January 20th so that you can be our President! That would be like, sooooo awesome!

This being spewed by a woman currently under investigation for abuse of power. Someone who is looking for even more power as vice president. Someone who other than reciting information recently "force fed" to her does not have a clue as to what happens in the nation. Most recently she could not even name the newspapers she read in Alaska. Please this is the same swiftboat tactics used in 2004. I wonder Sara, wink, wink...do you know about Keating 5?

Thats it? Thats the best the GOP can come up with?
Dont vote for Obama because he once talked to a guy who talked to a guy that wasn't actually convicted of blowing things up 50 years ago.

    There getting desperate...

Palin has a natural nack for taking what she wants from a source and ignoring the context. even her final quote in the debate was stupidly mis-used as it had been in reference to a social benifit deprivation aimed at senior citizens.

I wonder is she ever actually read a whole page of text in her life. Oh wait- maybe she can't because of that twitch in her eye.

This connection has been vetted by all independent fact-checking sources as nonsense. We cannot let fear and holding Patriotism for ransom shape our politics. When you don't have plans to help the country you turn to garbage. That is what McCain and Palin are doing here.
