Obama campaign rejects Palin 'terrorist' gibe

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/10/05/art.boflag1005.ap.jpg caption="Gov. Palin said Saturday that Sen. Obama sees America as 'imperfect.'"]
(CNN) - Barack Obama's campaign has quickly rejected Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's claim that he associated "with terrorists who targeted our own country."

Palin attacked Sen. Obama on Saturday for his brief political relationship with Bill Ayers, a founding member of the radical Weather Underground, which was involved in several bombings in the early 1970s, including attacks on the Pentagon and the Capitol. Obama was a child at the time of the bombings.

Obama and Ayers, now a university professor, have met several times since 1995, when both orked with a non-profit group trying to raise funds for a school improvement project and a haritable foundation. CNN's review of project records found nothing to suggest anything nappropriate in the volunteer projects in which the two men were involved.

A CNN Fact Check found Palin's charge to be false.

Would someone be so kind as to educate this woman before she starts running off at the mouth again sounding like some airhead cheerleader running for student body president?

During the debate, Governor Palin chastised Senator Biden for looking back. Aren't they now doing the same thing by mentioning Bill Ayers?

Also, CNN and other news sources have said the two men don't have a close relationship. I'm not sure why this is an issue.

I agree with Senator Obama – focus on the economy. 159,000 jobs were lost last month. We are facing almost a trillion dollar bailout. Losing money in 401k funds, etc.

But Sarah sleeps with an avowed Separatist. For a decade his only political party required signing a document 'hate the American flag', and NOW he is an Independent NOT a republican.
    Google it!

So much for "honor" in this campaign. McCain and his pitbull-puppet Palin is as despicable and dishonorable as they come. This is who we want to lead this country?

That comment by Palin was a shameful AND racist jibe, and I demand for a public apology. Barack was only EIGHT YEARS OLD when that Ayers guy did what he did. SHAME ON YOU, SARAH PALIN.

It's pretty clear that the McCain campaign is getting very desperate, with most Electoral College trackers projecting Barack with 300+ electorals.

The election's in less than a month from now, guys! Barack would have to slip up BIG TIME for him to lose his lead now.

There they go again, turn the attention away from the real issues!!!!!

Palin should be on Dancin' With The Stars!!! Why you ask? Because she can dance her way around a question better than any of the stars on DWTS!!!!!

Also, there is no 'g' at the end of dancin', right up her alley. LOL

God help us all if the Repulsive I mean Republicans get into office!!!!!

Hmmm...Ayers was acquitted of all crimes - something McCain couldn't get in the Keating 5 scandal. Does McCain really want to play in the mud?

Let's see if Americans will vote based on smears (again).

After the smears lobbed at McCain over his adopted daughter Bridget by Bush in 2000 (Bush raised the possibility that she was his "black" illegitimate child), you would think McCain would reject negative advertising.

Any vice Presidential candidate who as governor tells a group that supports treason, the Alaskan Independent Party (whose founder desecrated the American flag), has a lot of gall saying Obama knew a radical and that is why he cannot be president. She is married to a man who for 7 years was a member of the Alaskan Independent Party. He was a traitor. Now as governor she went and spoke at Alaskan Independent Party's convention in support of treason. She should be recalled as Governor immediately.

We've been waiting for these personal attacks to get worse- that's republican politics. If you can't win on the issues, spread fear and smear on your opponent.

It's a disgraceful turn in Republican 'strategy' (look it up, McCain). Where are Palin's Christian values now? That allow her to spew mean, hateful lies just to win an election?

it sad what mcain and his inexperience vp is trying to do because they don't know how to handle the economic crisis. i lost my home and my jobs and all they want to do is talk aboout character. that doesn't have nothing to do how i'm struggling right now. this attack will turn me off and other voter off. obama was only 8 years old and if you read the new york times obama and ayers wasn't close friend.

Funny how Obama supporters don't want any mention of past acts in the Obama life history but then are quick to make sure they bring up constantly the Keating Scandal, or Cindy McCain's past drug problems while wanting it hush hush and no mention of Obama's own admitted drug use. All of these claims are horrendous coming from both sides, and they are disgusting from anyone, but why is it so disgusting only when it goes one way? If you want it stopped against Obama then stop slurring McCain with rumors he has altzheimers, or ready to die any moment, or that he is erratic, unstable etc... I know I have had enough of being called a racist because I don't support Obama, even though I don't support McCain either. This campaign has negative ads on both sides and one side can't claim purity when it doesn't deserve it and lay total blame for negativity on the other side.

I hear that Palin is hiding Bin Laden in the mountains of Alaska. She is also having meetings with Putin when he "rears" his little head about taking over Canada. She want's a "Bridge to Somewhere" connecting Alaska to Russia. And, as we all know, Russia has strong ties to Cuba, so she is also supporting the Castro regime. It is also reported that she eats kimchi regularly and has an alliance to North Korean dictator, Kin Jong-il.
You have to watch out for this woman . . .

    OBAMA/BIDEN . . .'08

The funny thing is that no matter how inadequete the Republican ticket is.. no matter how much vile deceipt they spread... the Republican base is still energized!

I mean.. just on this board... where the fact checks clearly show that what the republican campaign is saying is completely false.. the Republicans are still chearing them on.

People like "a nightingale sings, democrat voting McCain/Palin, No Hillary=No Obama"... can some of you people actually justify why you would vote for these slimebags rather than just slamming Obama with the same mistruths that these two "mavericks" are spewing?
