Obama campaign rejects Palin 'terrorist' gibe

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/10/05/art.boflag1005.ap.jpg caption="Gov. Palin said Saturday that Sen. Obama sees America as 'imperfect.'"]
(CNN) - Barack Obama's campaign has quickly rejected Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's claim that he associated "with terrorists who targeted our own country."

Palin attacked Sen. Obama on Saturday for his brief political relationship with Bill Ayers, a founding member of the radical Weather Underground, which was involved in several bombings in the early 1970s, including attacks on the Pentagon and the Capitol. Obama was a child at the time of the bombings.

Obama and Ayers, now a university professor, have met several times since 1995, when both orked with a non-profit group trying to raise funds for a school improvement project and a haritable foundation. CNN's review of project records found nothing to suggest anything nappropriate in the volunteer projects in which the two men were involved.

A CNN Fact Check found Palin's charge to be false.

What's false about what Palin said? Ayers was a member of a terrorist organization, and Obama obviously knew about it but had no problem working with the man, even though he says he was only 8 years old when all that stuff happened... so what? I wasn't even born yet when Charles Manson went on his rampage, so I guess it didn't really happen, right?

FYI, "hopeful floridian", Ayers never went to prison for his actions because of improper evidence collecting. Don't pretend that Ayers served his time and all should be forgiven, because he has yet to pay for his crimes!

Just what my family needs right now, Sarah Palin trying to scare the country even more. Play the bomb card. This is such a sad, pathetic commentary on Politics and the state of affairs in the United States...

This reminds me of the VP debate... instead of answering the tough questions, Palin just goes off spouting out the rhetoric the McCain campaign has shoved into her brain. I'm a full-time college student with a part-time job in retail and I don't hear concerns from the customers in the store about Obama's "terrorist ties," I hear about how their lives are being negatively effected by our economy going down the tubes. McCain/Palin... get back to the issues and stop the playground bullying tactics!

Palin is a disgrace. She is so very ill-informed about everything. She has no place in our government. She should go back to Alaska. McSame is pathetic for picking a VP to win the women vote. Who does that? Who picks someone for VP that they only met once? No way, No how, No McCain/Palin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Putting my outrage at gutter politics aside, here's the deal IMO.

The numbers are just awful for McCain. At this point they have to sweep the table and take all contested states to win. Almost impossible.

This is all about utter desperation. They have to decapitate Obama to win at this point and they've proven that utterly desperate measures are needed and just fine with the MAVERICK team. lol

I am tired of the personal attacks by the McCain and Palin ticket. Most Americans want to hear about real issues.

How can this moose Palin say that Obama is terrorist friendly ,when her husband Mr Toad belonged to a terrorist group that wanted Alaska to be independent from the United States

Sara Palin's husband belonged to a seccionist party and she herself has spoken at their conventions. Ayers was never charged with anything and Obama has soundly condemned his past actions. Moreover he was an 8 year old kid when that incident occured. Sara Palin and her husband are still heavily connected with people who want to break up the country. She has immense gall to talk. She is a racist, homophobic turd.

Our banks are going broke, the auto companies are looking for a $25 billion bailout, the government took over Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, Bears Stearns needed a bailout, Lehman Bros. went bankrupt, personal bankruptcies are up 30% from last year, 159,000 jobs were lost last month, the highway fund is running out of money while our roads and bridges are coming apart. Our kids are fighting and dying in two wars. Congress just authorized a $700 billion bailout.

And the conversation is about lipstick on pigs and wild accusations.

How long are we going to put up with this?

This is really rich coming from someone who is married to a proud separatist. Todd Palin has nothing going for himself except his popularity with fellow 'Alaska Liberators'.
I really think Obama team has to get on the offensive now too. We can't let Sarah Palin spit out ugly lies just because she is stupid and doesn't have an original thought of her own. The Obama people need to learn how to respond in kind.

Definition of the word Maverick= 1. An unbranded animal on the range....(guess who). 2. A person who refuse to conform and acts independently. (scarry and guess who again), I will be a sad day for this Nation and World if these two every go into the White House. These two will independently do things we cannot imagine that will surely put us in more hell than the last mad maverick Bush. Vote Obam/Biden for your country and for your life.

ferny – Palin has to yammer. She is trying to save Obama from himself. If he continues to commit treason as President he could find himself in prison for life or worse. Treason is a vicious crime and it is very serious and I would think the American people would demand absolute justice if committed by a President. Obama should take heed, but he probably will not because of his arrogance and ideological nuttiness.

Her complete disregard for the truth with this distraction is certainly disturbing, but her lack of intelligence and knowledge are what should be far more alarming to voters. Why do we glorify ignorance as talk to the common person?

Okay... so they put some newspapers in from of her. She said "golly, there are alot of words here. Looky, here's a story on Obama!"
Then she twisted is around and spewed her distorted version.

They might have been able to program her with lines amounting to nothing for the debate, but on her own she's she's doing the dog paddle in the cesspool of lies.

Wait until she starts on the race issues, wait...she seems to have already started.

McCain/Palin are joke. McCain behaves as if he was the only member of our military in North Vietnamese prison. He tries to cash it to win an election that has nothing to do with it. I mean, come on; how does him being in prison makes him better suited to serve being a president of the US. And, Palin is not worth discussion at all. She is a pathological liar. Troopergate, Bridge to Nowhere, Road to nowhere, 75% absence in office and still charging per diem – "Where is Sarah" buttons in Governor's office, forcing her daughter to marry the father of her baby – this is what happens in 3rd world countries and many more. Her interview with Katie should have opened everyone's eyes. If she gets annoyed by Katie; how the hell would she stand up to Putin, Wen Jiabao or Sarkozy? May be she will come back to Fox News and say "they annoyed me". If they win this election; US would definitely loose its status as a sole superpower.

The say "show me your friends and I'll tell you who you are". Obama needs to fully explain his relationship with Ayers. Regardless of how old he was when Ayers was a terrorists, he should not have befriended the guy. Why is if OK if the New York Times writes about Obama's relationshiip with Ayers and it becomesa lie if Palin echos that report. CNN is afraid to post blogs for people opposed to Obama. We want the truth, the WHOLE truth, and nothing but the truth.

My comment is not offensive – why do you keep censoring me?

Thank you Sarah !!! After 45 years of having to listen to a republican mother-in-law, she called last night and said she's not going to listen to any more lies from her party. Just in time, too. She's switching to DEM tomorrow – the last day to "register" (although she's only officially switching parties)!!

    Thank you Sarah!!!!

IF Sara Palin can refuse to cooperate with a sepena it should be written into law as Sara Palin verses Alaska. Who knew she would be so powerful that she could defy the law. I guess this is the first of her new precieved duties as VP.
