Obama campaign rejects Palin 'terrorist' gibe

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/10/05/art.boflag1005.ap.jpg caption="Gov. Palin said Saturday that Sen. Obama sees America as 'imperfect.'"]
(CNN) - Barack Obama's campaign has quickly rejected Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's claim that he associated "with terrorists who targeted our own country."

Palin attacked Sen. Obama on Saturday for his brief political relationship with Bill Ayers, a founding member of the radical Weather Underground, which was involved in several bombings in the early 1970s, including attacks on the Pentagon and the Capitol. Obama was a child at the time of the bombings.

Obama and Ayers, now a university professor, have met several times since 1995, when both orked with a non-profit group trying to raise funds for a school improvement project and a haritable foundation. CNN's review of project records found nothing to suggest anything nappropriate in the volunteer projects in which the two men were involved.

A CNN Fact Check found Palin's charge to be false.

Obama – You will need to fight these incessant attacks for the next 4 weeks. This may blunt your message, but you need to keep deflecting these attacks...

The world needs your leadership and we can't afford to lose the momentum now...

So what else is new? Most everything that comes out of McCain's and Palin's mouths is false.

How can we allow our candidates to continue to spout lies, misrepresentations and smears? This is a huge symptom of what is wrong with America. Soon, we'll get to the point where our elections are not about who will best represent us, but about who tells the most and the best lies.

We need to hold these candidates accountable!!!

Once again this shows that the McCain-Palin ticket has nothing new for the American people on policies. Same ol'Bush policies and we can see where that has gotten us the last 8 years. So they go to the gutter and try and bring up old news and lies. She should go to fact check before she starts speaking. I as a woman voter consider myself a smarter than that, and I feel the American people are also. Palin and McCain like to talk down to us and skirt around the issues. She has no subtance so she has no other place to go but the gutter. It scares me that there she would be only a heart beat away from the #1 spot. We see that she doesn't speak with knowledge, and being cute doesn't cut it in the big world.

Please people understand we don't need irratic people( they call themselves mavericks) in the white house who would do first without thinking and answer to the fall out second.

We need someone like Barack who has shown a calm and level head throughout this entire campaign with every issue that has come before him. And also what are country has faced. Really stop and listen and watch. Listen and see who looks and speaks more as a leader and is respected throughout the world.

If it is false stop reporting on it and questioning its impact. If the media was responsible, it would ignore it. You are at risk of becoming clones of idiots like Sean Hannity. Cnn is better than this.

Maybe Palin should talk about her investigation of the abuse of power which is currently underway as Alaska governor. Typical Repug–ignore supoenas, sweep it under the rug and attack the other candidate with lies and slime. Let's ask some real questions of her with a press conference or other real interviews as the other candidates have done for months. All she can do is spout talking points and lies. What is her IQ anyway, gosh darn it?

It's disgusting to see how low Palin will go and how easily she can lie to America.

Cannot wait until Nov 4 and we never hear of Palin again except in some future corruption indictment in Alaska.

Mc Cain and Palin are showing how low they can go. No matter how hard they try or how much they lie, it will only sink them more in the polls and soon he will have to be backing out of more states. I don't want a President or VP that gets their votes from lies and sleeze tactics, we have had enough of that over the last 8 years........Obama could go down that same route on Mccain with the Keating 5 issues, McCain's wife's drug problems, Palin and her Troopergate, but Obama is more concerned about this country and the people of this country......MCCAIN and PALIN are out for just themself's.........

The GOP tactics are so cheap and mean.

Now they don't have policies and issues to run on, therefore they are desperate to coming up issues that are wrong and irrelevant.

Obviously the McCain campaign hasn't received the Memo From American Voters which goes something like this: anything that comes out of Palin's mouth is a joke.

Making extreme statements on the fly is soundly rejected by American voters.

The Charlie and Katie interviews were the Kiss of Death for this candidate. To have this same person running around winking and making ridiculous, speculative, slanderous accusations is damaging. To Palin and the McCain campaign.

Someone needs to park Gidget at convenience stores and auto malls where she can talk about which is the best peanut butter and leave the issues to the qualified.

Go figure....here goes the McCain camp again, creating news because their numbers are falling in the polls. It's sad, desbicable and low for Palin to throw this crappy "headline" out to her supporters.
Anything to keep Americans minds off of the REAL issues...next thing you know they'll be talking about lipstick on pigs again!

You know John Mccian is losing in the race, When a OLD white male uses a white female to lie about a black male. It has happened though out American history. I see Sarah Palin as the modren day Fannie Taylor. Someone who will lie to save John McCain.

obama is more than "friendly" with ayers. the fact that he would be "friendly" with an unrepentant bomber of the capital, pentagon, and police headquarters, with a history of anti govt. radicalism is pathetic. obama funneld millions of taxpayers money to ayers for his pet projects in chicago, such as the annenberg challenge. this program spewed anti govt. propaganda into the minds of youth. he was given money from the columbia univ. prof. who helped bring irans pres. to columbia. his felon friend rezko, is connected to auchi, aka the bagman for saddam hussein. the lawyer defending him because he will not produce a valid birth certiicate in phila, pa is a terrorist lawyer. his sympathy toward palestine, and his refusal to release the list of his overseas donors that equal over 200 million dollars is disturbing.

ANOTHER ATTEMPT from McCain CAMP to take our ATTENTION off the REAL ISSUES of our economy and of Ccourse they are using the baraconda of a pit bull. THIS high bail out bill that was caused by McCain and his history of VOTING with BUSH. What she needs to be EXPLAINING and QUESTIONING to the American voters what kind of devil, witches and warlocks did HER pastor remove from her EVIL body? She also needs to EXPLAIN why the Republicans thinks her and her husband should continue to BRAKE the LAW in Alaska after a Superior JUDGE stated that the CASE would be continue in the weeks of Oct. Now we see how she MADE fools of the WOMAN in Alaska, she was doing poorly with news media interviews and when she had a debate that went better then the 25% rating they thought it did, she became a lip stick wearing big mouth LIER………Now she is trying the same tricks by making remarks about people when she SHOULD be talking about her, Todd and McCain’s attempt to win the White House by telling LIES AND ATTACKING like high school bullies, and explain to US about the TRUTH about her EVIL ways that CAUSED her PREACHER to REMOVE EVIL spritis from that EVIL mind and body. Just because she perform 25% out of 100% during her debate with Biden, DOES not make us forget the SAD and SORRY interviews she has GIVEN since being HIRED by McCain and camp.

SHE is the REASON McCain will regret he HIRED a stupid BIG mouth pit bull with the wrong brand of LIP STICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Palin is playing by the Republican book of smear politics, exxageration of truths and flat-out lies. The party has failed America since 2000 and if they have any sense of shame or responsibility, the RNC should support Obama, if for nothing but to redeem their image.

Palin, who does not read and is vaguely aware, i am sure, of the detailes of Ayres, Wrigth et al, should keep her mouth shut and focus on the 'good things' her party promises to do for America

When one cannot win head to head, bring fear and terror into the picture. Trademark move typical of the Republican Party. The so called pit bull from Alaska who likes to try and dish it out, but cannot take it. Always has an excuse for making a mistake. If she was to be the one being attacked, it would be sexism. On a couple of final notes. I was born and raised in the midwest in a rural area. I still live in a rural area. I do not appreciate anyone trying to talk "folksy" to try and get my vote. I don't know anyone who uses the same words she does when carrying on a conversation. Talk about condensending. The other note. McCain and company should maybe think twice about trying to attack Obama on character and judgement. Keating Five ring a bell? Savings and Loan ring a bell? McCain got off, but it was stated that he showed poor judgement. Oh, I forgot. he is a Republican war hero. He, like all other Republicans walk on water. Especially those who spew lies on tv and radio, while hiding behind a mike, but don't have the gonads to run for public office themselves. Funny how those who pretend they know all of the answeres never run for public office. That includes Lou Dobbs.
