    Thought everyone might like this........

Throughout the campaign this year, McCain has tried to make the contest about honor and character. His own writing gives us the standard by which he should be judged. "Always telling the truth in a political campaign," he writes in Worth the Fighting For, "is a great test of character." He adds: "Patriotism that only serves and never risks one's self-interest isn't patriotism at all. It's selfishness. That's a lesson worth relearning from time to time." It's a lesson, it would appear, that the candidate himself could stand to relearn.

"I'm sure John McCain loves his country," says Richard Clarke, the former counterterrorism czar under Bush. "But loving your country and lying to the American people are apparently not inconsistent in his view."

Carole, if Obama makes you sick then you had better prepare to walk around with a portable potty for the at least four more years. As to Palin drumming up support from racists – their days are numbered. The face of the world is changing ever so slowly, but slow wins the "race".

As Jack Cafferty book title states it's getting ungly out there. I hope this election don't divide us as a nation but it's getting ungly.

What is amazing with american journalism, which is among the worst among the world, is the idea of neutrality. I do respect Campbell Brown for pointing it out clearly recently. This is the idea that reporters should only report the news without commenting it or putting it in a broader context. The end result is truly pathetic. As an example, you end up hearing Crowley saying both campaigns attack their rival's character. Of course it is totally b.s. analysis. You have one campaign where supporters scream "kill him", following hatred being stirred by Palin and McCain themselves, and then you have Obama attacking McCain's policies now and before (Keating five for example).

The two campaigns are completly different but because journalists completly miss the difference between being objective (not taking a partisan point of view) and being stupidly neutral, you end up with statements from journalists that bear no ressemblance to reality.

"Obama you make me sick. You and your dark past. How anyone can vote for you is beyond me. If the African Americans wanted to have a black President for the first time in history you would think they would pick one that did not have ties to people that hate America."

    _____________________________________________________

So Sarah Palin's ties as recently as this year, when she supportively addressed the Anti-American, Secessionist group her husband openly belonged to until 2002, doesn't bother you?

John McCain's documented former ties to the U.S. Council for World Freesom, a group that openly supported and supplied right-wing Death Squads and former Nazis and Nazi sympathizers during Iran-Contra – that doesn't bother you?

I'll take a guy who served on the board for a charitable trust and once entered the home of a former Wetherman who is now all grown up, over a woman with ties a hair's breadth from treason and a man who sided with nazis and death squads any day. Dark histories, indeed!

The republicans are just a bunch of nasty liars who still live in their own world thinking they are still 'grand' and 'old'. the more smearing and lies they put out the more disgusting they are becoming. Get over your political goals. the country is in trouble, people need help! They should just shut up from now on to save some dignity!

Which McCain are we going to see Tuesday night? The Liberal anti- Bush, anti-lobbyist, anti-earmark, anti-Wall St., maverick reformer who represents Main St. or the angry lying conservative right- wing, war-mongering Bush loyalist that we've all learned to dispise.
After eight long years of the Bush administration, America can no longer be held hostage to the values of conservative extremism to which John McCain and Sara Pelin cling. McCain still wants to invest Social Security funds in the stock market, he still supports deregulation of the banking industry, he still supports the Iraq War, he still wants to spend trillions of dollars there, he still supports corporate welfare, he still supports tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans.

Be sure and remind your college students to Vote on election day if they are registered. I can not think of one college student who could not use that $4000 Student Tuition College tax credit Obama wants to give them.

With 2 wars FAR FROM being won, the economy getting worse from day to day, the Dow Jones below 10,000 and voters worried about keeping their jobs with the added prospect of losing their health insurance coverage, the decision of McCLOWN and his CLUELESS Vice President to attack Obama is the clear sign that these two FAKE "mavericks":

    (1) Follow OLD Washington politics,
    (2) Have nothing CONSTRUCTIVE to offer and
    (3) Are in full PANIC MODE.

It is no wonder that Obama is increasing his lead: voters are sick and tired of KARL ROVE's style smear tactics.

By doing so McCLOWN's looks more and more like a CARBON COPY of G.W.BUSH.

    YUCK!!!!!

To his credit McCain has been open about his role in the Keating 5. He admits that he took money to fight against regulations that prevented Keating from running scams to steal the life savings of elderly investors. He also admits that he helped to cover Keating when he defrauded his investors to the tune of over 3 BILLION dollars. He was not exonerated, he was simply not severely punished. This is relevant because even after this life lesson, McCain continued to champion AGAINT banking regulations and the results of his efforts can now be seen on the front page of every newspaper in the nation.

by the way, i don't think any americans need someone who's good at only making petty jokes or winking. we need someone who can talk about crisis, policies and future with substance.

I see that as usual the right-wingers are out with their scurrilous and unsubstantiated charges. They don't really care about democracy, just about winning. Some of them pretend to be Christians while bearing false witness. All in all, not a reasonable bunch represented here.

  20. Palin Insighting hate

Sarah Palin's speeches are indeed insighting racial hate. She comes out with the most totally disgusting things. I have never witnessed such hate. She is a Christian?? I can tell you she sure does not act like one. I fear for Obama's life now.. this woman and the old man have rallied the Klan and it worries me sick.
The Klan and celebrating this "folksy" hate monger and Mc Cain the war monger..nice ticket... God have mercy!

Obama states he didn't know about Ayers past. Obama stated he didn't hear Wright talk negative, THEN later Obama said he did hear Wright's sermons. Is Obama lying, again?

The Iraq and Afghanistan Senate Veteran Report Card has been released. Please check it out and see how your Representatives scored.

It is not biased, it is based on voting records for various bills.

  23. McCain=the draft

In addition to the Keating Five,

McCain sat on the board of the U.S. Council for World Freedom with John Singlaub, who was affilated with a group that were extremists, racists and anti-semites.

McCain spent his 70th birthday partying on the yacht of convicted felon Rafaello Follieri.

McCain climbed the political ladder with money from Cindy's father's mob connections. Google, Kemper Marley.

And there's plenty more on self righteous McCain!

Oh Carole for the love of God, think before you speak. First, start making the diffrence between hating America and attacking some of its positions. Wright does not hate America (hint hint, he served in the military), he hates its foreign policy. Ayers does not hate America, he hated the Vietnam war and his bombings were always done while preventing people first to make sure to do no harm. You can disagree with his actions or Wright's positions, but there is not an ounce of hate in these. Now, compare this to Palin's preacher who drove countless women to insanity by attacking them and calling them witches. Or Haggee who thinks NO flooding was because of gays and sexual activities. That is pure hatred. So start drawing the difference and stop spreading you own hatred in blogs like this one.

Remember what the Egyptians did when they were facing a famine.
They hired someone who did not look like them to get them through the crisis. Vote Obama.
