NRA endorses McCain-Palin ticket

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/10/07/art.macpalwave1007.gi.jpg caption="A powerful gun rights groups has announced it will endorse Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin."]
(CNN) – The National Rifle Association said Thursday it plans to endorse Sen. John McCain and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, citing Sen. Barack Obama's "anti-gun record."

"We will encourage gun owners, hunters and anyone who values freedom to vote McCain-Palin on November 4," Wayne LaPierre, the NRA's Executive Vice President, said in the statement.

Obama has been on poor terms with gun rights advocates, especially since his controversial remarks about rural residents of Pennsylvania were disclosed before the Pennsylvania Democratic primary. Obama lost to Sen. Hillary Clinton in that race despite investing substantial time campaigning in the battleground state.

The U.S. Supreme Court held for the first time in June of this year that the Second Amendment of the Constitution protects an individual right to own and carry a gun.

There's a real surprise. The democrats are sure to be disappointed. Perhaps Palin can bring some wolf paws to her next campaign stop to show her gratitude.

Now wait a minute. For weeks all we hear are accusations from the McCain-Palin camp about Barack Obama and terrorists. Terrorists are known for their love of guns. So why isn't the NRA endorsing Obama?

Obama will not take your gun away if it is a standard gun... However, if you claim you use your gun for hunting or protection, yet you want to buy 12 AK47's, 3 Bazooka's and other excessive weapons, he'll prevent that. I find NOTHING wrong with clamping down on excessively dangerous weapons – preventing them from falling into the hands of gangs and criminals. Obama advocates RESPONSIBLE gun use, not un regulated gun use.

    smart!

    obama/biden!

We all knew that they would. I understand about hunters wanting to be able to hunt but there is also another side to people having guns – and that is when people get robbed on the street at gunpoint, people whose home have been invaded by people carrying guns and the list goes on.

"anyone who values freedom to vote McCain-Palin on November 4,"

That's just stupid logic, and an absolute wrong vote. If you value your freedoms, do not want big brother taking liberties with them and tossing out those rights, such as reading people their Miranda rights, invasion of privacy, freedom of press, seperation of church and state, and the complete trashing of the constitution...then you will want to go with the 'constitutional professor'...not the dude that's voted in line with Bush to repeal each and everyone of our citizens rights.

As a gun owner, as a veteran, as a christian and as a white male, I'm voting for the man who best represents my patriotic values! I'm voting Obama!

    One House,
    One Car,
    One Spouse,
    One Nation!

    One vote, that ONE!!

  17. SARAH PALIN THE MAVERICK HAS SINGLE-HANDEDLY CHANGED THE PERCEPTION OF AMERICA’S WOMEN!

Prior perception: This woman has effectively removed all “blonde” jokes from the public stage.

New perception: It is now time for brunettes to ascend to center stage!

  18. Stupid is as stupid does!

Yes, after McCain and Palin run this economy in the ground and we're all forced to live in caves, we're going to need guns for hunting and skinning the neighbors dogs for survival.

The McCain/Palin ticket will set this country back 200 years. They are doing a good job of divisiness. They are inciting the possibility of riots and hatred.
McCain/Palin and Cindy have skeletons in their closet. I'm sure Cnn want report that the first dude had numerous meeting with terrorist, attmptempting to separate themselvess from the US. McCain sat in on a meetin with a person who is still incarcerated for shooting and bombing an abortion clinic.

If you value your right to carry a gun and hunt then Obama is NOT who you should vote for.
