Obama purchasing 30 minutes of network airtime

(CNN) - Barack Obama is buying 30 minutes of airtime on the major television networks just days before the presidential election, the Obama campaign confirms.

Sources with the Obama campaign say half hour blocks have been purchased on Wednesday, October 29 on CBS and NBC.  The campaign is also in negotiations with Fox, though that day will conflict with the World Series if there is a game 6.

The buy was first reported by the Hollywood reporter earlier Thursday.

Evan Tracey of Campaign Media Analysis Group, CNN's consultant on ad spending, said it was unclear how much the blocs of air would cost, but noted 30 seconds alone in primetime usually runs between $80,000 and $125,000.

"This is a big platform, this is a big megaphone, the interest level is clearly there and people will watch," Tracey said.

Obama couldn't meet with McCain nationwide for 10 town halls with unscripted questions from the public but he can buy time to lecture the American public. This is no different from his Denver speech. All about him. Maybe he will have Dodd, Frank, Raines, Johnson, Pelosi and Reid on with him so they can explain Freddie and Fannie at the kitchen table! All con artists and liars

My fellow Americans, get ready. We are finally going to have a leader who is articulate, intelligent, organized, diplomatic, respectful, logical. We are welcoming in a brand new era; one in which we can redirect our common goals as a nation. I'm so proud to have the opportunity to vote for Barack Obama. He will offer us all a stake in our nation's future. We can all become empowered again. With a great leader, and stong work ethic, we can bring our nation back to the forefront in the global economy. I, for one, cannot wait to hear what he has to say in this 30min network broadcast. I am looking forward to his first address to our country. Bush's speeches are so cringe-worthy. The guy can't even speak English, let alone string together a logical thought. Obama is the leader we DESERVE.

He is buying the vote. Where do you think he is coming up with this money from. Not the average 10 to 25 dollars giver. Think. With Pelosi and Obama, ==socialism . First he tried Acorn. How ironic 105 percent sign up in Indianapolis, which that is fraud right there. 5000 fraud applications in Lake County Today. And then today it came out about his connections to Kladi(mis-spelled),(Arafat Plo) Obama said I do know and that he says someone I know, He had a fund raiser for him. What are these connections to Obama, corrupted people, Ayers, Dohrn, Rezko, and Auchi and Wright. These are his friends. I am a democrat and with friends like that no vote for me. If mom or brothers or sister or dad or friend had these people for friends would it not bother you at all. wouldn't you have your doubts.

Smart move from the Obama campaign..... I hope he uses the that time wisely, I hope he talks about his policies and what we can hope for under his presidency and not waste the time talking about John Mccain or George Bush. I believe Obama will be a great president and he is capable of getting us out of this mess we in. He doesn't act like he knows it all but instead he seeks from people who does know before he reacts unlike John Mccain hotheaded.

  20. Still for Hill, but voting McCain

Wow, we are going to get a STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS before election day. Who's arrogant?

Maybe he can have his fake presidential seal in the background.

The economy may suck, but I'm still too proud for a handout.

Good Luck America when we say hello to "Socialism".

Our new allies in the world: Hugo Chavez, the Castro Brothers, and that Iranian president (you know, that one).

Obama needs to cut through the finish line with a renewed message of hope. His is spending too much time attacking John McCain. There is no need for that.
