Obama purchasing 30 minutes of network airtime

(CNN) - Barack Obama is buying 30 minutes of airtime on the major television networks just days before the presidential election, the Obama campaign confirms.

Sources with the Obama campaign say half hour blocks have been purchased on Wednesday, October 29 on CBS and NBC.  The campaign is also in negotiations with Fox, though that day will conflict with the World Series if there is a game 6.

The buy was first reported by the Hollywood reporter earlier Thursday.

Evan Tracey of Campaign Media Analysis Group, CNN's consultant on ad spending, said it was unclear how much the blocs of air would cost, but noted 30 seconds alone in primetime usually runs between $80,000 and $125,000.

"This is a big platform, this is a big megaphone, the interest level is clearly there and people will watch," Tracey said.

McSame has proven one thing. He knows nothing about economic issues. One moment he claims that the economy is strong. Then he panics and suspends his campaign for about 24 hours, rushing back to Washington so he can impede efforts to address the economic crisis. Now he unveils a half-baked scheme to pump incalculable billions into the failing banks.

McSame lacks the steady hand and good judgment that we need in the Presidency. America will choose a team that has good judgment and will be able to steer our economy out of the Bush-McSame disaster. America will choose Obama-Biden.

Too much of airtime for one or two points to drive down will bore audience, my advise is that it should be broken into 5 to 10 m9nutes stratas to make it effective.

so he is trying to buy the whitehouse and the office he is seeking. If he cares so much about the poor why doesnt he take that money he is using to buy time on tv and give it to charity or to help out the poor in this tiem of crises. I hope thsi backfires on him

As an Bi-racial American....Obama is what the country and the world needs. He will restore our standing in the world, for the world will look at us and that we have a leader that TRUELY REPRESENTS what we are about....DIVERSITY. The statute of liberty, and Elise Island are signs of the "olden-days," OBAMA will be what we are today. A Nation that is one....THE UNITED STATES of AMERICA.

Obama has spent way too much money on this campaign. I guess that is one way to put all those welfare checks to work.
