Obama purchasing 30 minutes of network airtime

(CNN) - Barack Obama is buying 30 minutes of airtime on the major television networks just days before the presidential election, the Obama campaign confirms.

Sources with the Obama campaign say half hour blocks have been purchased on Wednesday, October 29 on CBS and NBC.  The campaign is also in negotiations with Fox, though that day will conflict with the World Series if there is a game 6.

The buy was first reported by the Hollywood reporter earlier Thursday.

Evan Tracey of Campaign Media Analysis Group, CNN's consultant on ad spending, said it was unclear how much the blocs of air would cost, but noted 30 seconds alone in primetime usually runs between $80,000 and $125,000.

"This is a big platform, this is a big megaphone, the interest level is clearly there and people will watch," Tracey said.

Instead of sharing the stage with John McCain he should invite Bill Ayers, Rev. Wright, Rezco, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Jim Johnson and Franklin Rains. They can all talk about their plan for America, Heck throw in Harry Ried and Nancy Pelosi. If America does not wake up soon it will be a bad 4 years

I am calling on the Hillary backer now for McCain and Hillary in 2012 I'm hopeful your intellect will win out in time and make the better choice in Obama. We have had eight years of the most empty minded leadership in America's history!!! McCain is just as empty headed. Hillary would have been a fine leader but please don't make a second mistake by creating a major blunder you'll really be sorry for.

Obama is going to change this country. For the first time ever I feel hopeful for our future and my childrens future. I was for Hillary until I started listening to Barac. He is different from any other political figure in my lifetime. I believe that he can and will change America for the better.

To aware from another post – Obama was raised in a white world by white grandparents and a white mother so he is probably more white than you, but not racist.

Get ready to see the jugular veins pulsating in the necks of all southern republicans, who are about to see "that one" become the next President Of The United States Of America.

Its better than the negative ads and campaigns being perpetuated by the McCain Palin campaign!!!!

If the people who are undecided as of today, then they have serious self image, when they don't look at the two campaigns and which one is more desperate, as to use negative and condescending rhetoric!

And McCain will do anything to win! He's the biggest liar. And shamefully using Palin and wife Cindy to pimp for him. McCain is the shady character!

What a great idea! He is probably running the best campaign of my lifetime. Obama wants to speak directly to the people and is clearing the way to do so uninterrupted by the McCain campaigns nonsense. Brave, direct and brilliant.

Maybe Obama's can articulate in his 30-minute infomercial, why I should vote for him. If he was a caucasion man, his name was Barry Obama and he had no experience except for two years as a community organizer and 190 days as a US Senator, would he even have the nomination his political party?

  15. The Bradley Effect

I hope that the polls that show Obama gaining and winning are correct and hold to be true. It could very well be that “the Bradley Effect” comes in to play and Obama loses to McCain. The American people deserve better than having an old desperate, bitter, hateful, spiteful man and his Viper VP to win.

Do you, you undecided voters and you, the McCain committed voters, really want a President that clawed and lied his way to the top represent you? Can you really trust that man?

    Todd,
Have you looked at the polling data?

"The American people are seeing through your attempt to sway this election.
    POSERS EXPOSED!"

    What exactly does that mean?
    Please explain.

Obama is on 24/7 on Dish Network. Channel 74. Purpose is to talk about his plan.

For those who are asking who Barack Obama is? Ask Obama's grandmother.

This Obama is a real revolution not simply change. Democrat will nevr be the same after hi. The next DP candidat will have to adopt Obama strategy to compete with the cynical and terrible machine that the RP has always been. Obama has boasted the image of a party that has been the lime dock for years.

You go Senator Obama!!!! Do WHATEVER it takes. There is NO WAY America can afford another 4-8 years of the same. I am so happy that the campaign can afford the TV ads. I just read today that Obama/Biden campaign signs are being distroyed and burned in the south. There is no doubt in my mind that McCain and Palin have inspired this hatred, I am almost afraid that the worst is yet to come. We have to keep it together and show the world that we are indeed a free people and not bondaged by racisim.

Now the only thing that comes to my mind is the negative vibe from the McCain compaign. Now it is his wife and his V.P. + himself at it. Does he have any plans how to turn around the economy? The country will be doomed with McCain as commander in chief.
