Obama purchasing 30 minutes of network airtime

(CNN) - Barack Obama is buying 30 minutes of airtime on the major television networks just days before the presidential election, the Obama campaign confirms.

Sources with the Obama campaign say half hour blocks have been purchased on Wednesday, October 29 on CBS and NBC.  The campaign is also in negotiations with Fox, though that day will conflict with the World Series if there is a game 6.

The buy was first reported by the Hollywood reporter earlier Thursday.

Evan Tracey of Campaign Media Analysis Group, CNN's consultant on ad spending, said it was unclear how much the blocs of air would cost, but noted 30 seconds alone in primetime usually runs between $80,000 and $125,000.

"This is a big platform, this is a big megaphone, the interest level is clearly there and people will watch," Tracey said.

I love reading the jealous and spiteful comments from the neo-cons. It will be sweet sweet music if Obama is elected.

AMERICAN VOTERS , MOST OF THEM MAKE THEIR FINAL DECISION IN THE VOTING BOOTH..
BARRING THE NEW REVELATIONS OF VOTER FRAUD ALREADY OCCURING IN SOME STATES ...NEVADA FOR EXAMPLE WHERE,
THE FBI HAS GOTTEN HOLD OF MULTIPLE VOTING PAPERS/REGISTRATIONS BY ONE PERSON MAKING THAT PERSON TO VOTE TEN TIMES . THAT SAME PERSON HAD MULTIPLE ADDRESSES AND SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS.
THE ANOMALY IS UNDER INVESTIGATION AND ACROSS THE COUNTRY AND THE ORGANIZATION " ACORN" IS BEING INVESTIGATED AS A SOURCE . IF TRUE , AND IF FOUND TO BE NATIONWIDE, IT WILL CREATE THE BIGGEST CHAOS IN OUR
    PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION.

Okay MI girl, here's a post about the proposal. If Obama can use that time to illustrate, simply and effectively, his economic and energy plans, and to show how all his proposals relate together, a la Ross Perot, then it will be a terrific use of his time. If he takes 30 minutes to rehash his speeches and attacks, then it will be a terrible idea and could cost him the election.

Considering the campaign he has run so far, I would bet on the former, if I had any money left... 🙂

THAT ONE has proven again and again how media and technologically savvy his campaign has been. THAT ONE's campaign has spent their money wisely and prudently, and that is why THAT ONE is going to go straight to the White House.

THAT ONE '08~REAL change we can believe in.

With 30 minutes of air time, maybe Obama can better explain to the American people his longtime relationships with Bill Ayers, Rev Wright, ACORN. And just why he believes he has the character, judgement and true leadership qualities to be our president with little senate experience?

I can’t wait till Nov 4th when Obama wins the election. I can’t wait to see John McCain’s face. He will probably get angry and pitch a fit like the silver spoon fed rich person he and Cindy are. McCain’s Campaign has even turned conservatives to Obama. Every time I hear McCain talk he is complaining. He has nothing better to do now but hold Anti Obama rallies. Obama will be the next president! If you want to ever see Social Security, economic progress, clean reliable energy (wind Power Natural Gas) and real change in Washington vote Obama! WE CANT AFFORD 4 MORE YEARS OF BUSH

    Obama 08!

Hillary Democrat, please don't call yourself a "Democrat". if you are supporting McCain you do not hold the values and goals of the Democratic party therefore do not deserve the affiliation. Please change your party and hold your breath for Hillary. She lost. Accept it and move on.

why not? he's seems to be buying everything else...the media, the sanctity of voting, teh election.

he and his campaign makes me sick. after he flew people from WA state into Texas to run the precinct caucuses I knew why he did so well at the caucuses. We had his people running our causus and counting our votes. then at the county convention his campaign protested and said the precinct alignment was unfair and had his people realign the precincts (in his favor) His dirty underhanded politics litterly make me want to hurl

college kids, gang mambers, and dope smoking hippies choosing our next president...wonderful

With all those illegal contributions from the US and the upwards of 3 million he has gotten from overseas, why not. He has the crooked money, I guess he might as well use it. AND PEOPLE WANT THIS PERSON TO BE PRESIDENT. He makes bush look like a choir boy.

Hey Houston: What is so good about small government? That's what got us into the mess we're in now–the false belief that government intervention is bad for the economy. Now because of our screw-ups, my tax dollars are being spent to bail out wall street–but not me or my family. I'm 41 and my retirement plan is in the tank. By the time I'm 65, I won't have retirement OR social security because of the screw-ups of folks like McCain and their generation. It's about time my generation had one of it's own in the office.

And Hillary Democrat–please tell me what more experience Hillary has than Obama? In the senate a couple more years? She is certainly preferable to her husband, but she ran a really dirty campaign

HE CAN! So you repugs, get over it.

As John McCain keep whinning, lying, manipulating and running out of time, Barack Obama shines with confidence.Obama is the only future hope me and my family have-his plans are clear and positive. In this Economic downturn, we need a stable leader with a clear vision not an erratic leader like John McCain.
