Obama purchasing 30 minutes of network airtime

(CNN) - Barack Obama is buying 30 minutes of airtime on the major television networks just days before the presidential election, the Obama campaign confirms.

Sources with the Obama campaign say half hour blocks have been purchased on Wednesday, October 29 on CBS and NBC.  The campaign is also in negotiations with Fox, though that day will conflict with the World Series if there is a game 6.

The buy was first reported by the Hollywood reporter earlier Thursday.

Evan Tracey of Campaign Media Analysis Group, CNN's consultant on ad spending, said it was unclear how much the blocs of air would cost, but noted 30 seconds alone in primetime usually runs between $80,000 and $125,000.

"This is a big platform, this is a big megaphone, the interest level is clearly there and people will watch," Tracey said.

Go Obama Go!!! Maybe that's the day when Obama will inform the world that while John McCain was on the "Council for World Freedom" he sponsored gorilla soldiers in the hills of Afghanistan in the 1980's, the same gorilla soldiers that became Al Qaeda and the Taliban. Why is the fact that John McCain was a sponsor and member of a far right conservative orginization that sponsored death squads in Latin America and Afghanistan not a bigger news story already??? John McCain is a sick individual.

Tell America how McCain and charles Keating caused banks to collapse is the late 80s.

That is exactly what is happening now.

Tell america about McCain's ties to the Arizona mafia and how he married into one.

Tell america about McCain's tie to the Iran-Contra and ayatolla terrorists and guerillas.

Good, maybe he can explain to us how it is that he had his political "coming out party" at the home of a terrorist, he served on two boards with the terrorist, joined with the same terrorist in distributing grant money to "re-education" schools and yet claims that he "hardly knows him.

While he's at it maybe he can explain the democrat mindset that says it's ok that this guy(Ayers) was a terrorist and, in fact, why is it that the democrat mayor of Chicago names this terrorist as the city's Man-of-the-Year? What is it with democrats that don't see anything wrong with all of this?

Brilliant! Obama will talk directly to the country, not through any media filter, and let the voters see for themselves who he is and what he stands for.

One wonders just how huge his fundraising numbers must be from September, eh?

I bet McCain wishes he would've left the old money raising political machine behind and depended on Mainstreet Americans to fund him like Obama did. This is great. Take that Washington Republican machine!

    Obama/Biden '08!

What an awesome idea. Everytime I think the other side is moving ahead in anything, you people come through. God Bless you and by the way KUDOS to Mr. Gibbs. I love it when someone can stick the screws to Sean Hannity. When John McCain reaches the gates of hell and finds BinLaden, Sean Hannity should go with him.

This is great. Very smart thing to do. Now if only those people who keep complaining about not knowing him or believes the dirty politic of McCain/Palin will watch they will see who Senator Obama is.
