Obama purchasing 30 minutes of network airtime

(CNN) - Barack Obama is buying 30 minutes of airtime on the major television networks just days before the presidential election, the Obama campaign confirms.

Sources with the Obama campaign say half hour blocks have been purchased on Wednesday, October 29 on CBS and NBC.  The campaign is also in negotiations with Fox, though that day will conflict with the World Series if there is a game 6.

The buy was first reported by the Hollywood reporter earlier Thursday.

Evan Tracey of Campaign Media Analysis Group, CNN's consultant on ad spending, said it was unclear how much the blocs of air would cost, but noted 30 seconds alone in primetime usually runs between $80,000 and $125,000.

"This is a big platform, this is a big megaphone, the interest level is clearly there and people will watch," Tracey said.

Plans appear to be well thought out.
Shows again who is ready to be president and who is not.

How much will an Obamarosa administration cost the taxpayer? According to a recent CBS News article, the Obama plane smells like a Mumbian sewer. Removing the Obama family stench from the White House may just prove impossible. It may just be necessary to rebuild. Is that the change Obama is talking about?

What a smart guy. Smart campaigning! I've been rooting for him since about January. I hope this new strategy will really pull those battleground states over that hill towards our future President of the United States: BARACK OBAMA!!!!

Obama is the obvious choice in this presidential election! I don't think any one has all THE answers, after all we're in uhcharted territory, but I believe he is VERY intelligent and will surround himself with the best minds to deal with this crisis. We need sound judgement, not erratic, impulsive decision making.

It already turns me off. I lived in Caracas, Venezuela in the late 90's early 2000 and it sounds eerily like Hugo Chavez. Scary.

"That One" is running a SMART campaign. Future campaigns will no doubt be studying "This One".

Its obvious that Obama is going to put the final nail in the coffin right before Americans go to the polls. It's going to be a 1-2 punch against McCain between the final debate and the television blitz. Obama's going to let the tigers out!!! I'm sure he's been planning this strategy all along.

Wow, I am not surprised. I just hope that if the need arises, Obama will see fit to fight back with fire as well as issues. After the hate smear level attacks from the WHOLE McSame camp, it will be refreshing to see Obama hammer home the issues that matter to the American People. But I also think that the last debate stirred the McBush camp to get even nastier. They have not a leg to stand on, and they know it!

I think it's great he's buying air time. Gives those voters who may yet still be undecided to knock out the whole, "I don't know enough about him" excuse out of the park.

Yes! Sounds like another major speech. I have been studying Abraham Lincoln lately, and this guy reminds me so much of him!

Check out some of the similarities between Barack Obama and Abraham Lincoln, and you will see – no wonder the Senator from Illinois announced his underdog candidacy from Springfield.

Obama's sense of history and OUR place in it is truly inspirational.

Obama has to do this to combat all the

    FREE AIRTIME

McLost and Pitbull get everytime they utter a new slime attack against Obama.

It's pathetic how everything Palin says gets FREE AIRTIME 24/7.

That is great, but he needs to address the economic issues now. In a more clear and pedestian manner so that regular people can understand and see the positive sides of his economic proposals. Hopefully he does that before the next Presidential Debate!
