WASHINGTON (CNN) - President Bush said Friday that the U.S. government will continue to work to resolve the economic crisis, which he said is being made worse by anxiety and fear.

Watch: Anxiety worses crisis, Pres. Bush says

"Over the past few days, we have witnessed a startling drop in the stock market," he said in the Rose Garden. "Much of it is driven by uncertainty and fear."

He added, "We will continue to act and resolve this crisis."

    Noah! You are right.

We cant get past out hatred of George Bush!! Luckily, nobody could punish our country as much as the republicans have already done! Billions of dollars being spent in a country we should never have invaded, instead of spending that money improving our own country!! NOT patriotic!

    Noah,

After Obama and Biden win the election, you should move to Alaska. You and Sarah can start your own country. No liberals allowed. How cool is that?

Noah October 10th, 2008 10:38 am ET write:

"Liberals actually think it is a good idea to elect someone who will raise taxes on small business owners, who are the economic engine of our country, and who will restrict free trade".

You are another one who has bought into the McCain hype. The majority of small business owners will not be affected. Go the factcheck.org and read the details. You must be a true right wing ideology if you still believe McCain after all his false claims and lies. It's time for you to be patriotic and put country first. If you did that you would realize Obama is the only hope for the country to get out of this mess. If McCain becomes president – hello third world status for the country.

Are you serious. Are you serious? Are you freaking serious?! Thats all he said?! This country is in one of the greatest social, political and economic crises in history and that's all he says.

Listen, Im the first to get on the bandwagon of hating Bush, but right now is the time when we actually need him to do something. We need him to-in the words of my candidate-step up.

Like it or not Bush. YOU are still the Preisent. Not Obama. Not McCain. YOU. This is not Nov 5th and it sure as heck isnt Jan 20th. So get out from underneath your rock, stop sucking your thumb and be a man. Is that hard to ask our President to do. Be a man!

CNN, you're missing a golden opportunity here. Go back to the footage immediately following the 2004 general election, where President Bush's reaction was something like, "As a result of this election, I've earned some political capital, and I intend to spend it."

Well, spend it he did, in many forms, obviously.

The thing is Noah, noone has said what either candidate considers small business.
Before you call someone else brilliant, bring up a fact, instead of propaganda. Anyone who is truly worried makes more than 250,000 a year.
I'm not rich enough to be a republican.

Now the conservatives are starting to devour their own, angrily going after their own presidential candidate for not being "conservative enough."

Then they blame liberals for all of our problems!

Republicans just don't get it–it's OVER!

    And good riddance!

WHEN are you going to do that? In case your still sleeping at the switch while Rome burns, the market has already tanked and it's going lower by the minute.

The rich elite republicans have already pulled their money out of the market and now us sucker 401K savers are watching and panicking. Our live savings are dwindling before our eyes and then when stocks get low enough, the rich elite will buy us out at bargain basement prices.

    Good plan George Bush/John McCain.

    Gee Wiz Bushy!

Ya think maybe it has something to do with your G-D awful bailout plan, or chicken little speeches predicting the end of the world if you don't get your way.

I think Bush should do the world a favor and quit immediately after the election regardless of who wins.

Anybody would be better than this moron.

So... if you did all the right things- provided for yourself, saved, funded a 401K, denied yourself immediate gratification, lived within your means, did not buy MORE house than you could afford- the REWARD is to bo bust?

All my hard work down the tubes?

What help is there for me to recoup and replace the losses from my retirement portfolio?

I do not have enough years left of hard work to replace it, and I do not have a pension plan, and any SS will be taxed... so how do I survive?

    Dear Mr. President,
Please, DO NOT DO anything else to help our economy !!!
Eight years of your "great" administration and "good work" are what brought us to this "AMAZING" situation...
    Good job buddy...
Just stay in your ranch for the rest of your mandate waiting for your replacement. This is the least you can do for your country.
    Actually, better...
Why don't you to move away to Russia? That would be great !!!
