Obama's 'blind ambition' targeted

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/10/10/art.mccainad.cnn.jpg caption="The McCain campaign is targeting Obama's connection to Ayers in a new ad."](CNN) - John McCain is continuing his effort to associate Barack Obama with 1960's radical William Ayers, launching a national campaign ad Friday that accuses the Illinois senator of "blind ambition."

"Obama's blind ambition. When convenient, he worked with terrorist Bill Ayers. When discovered, he lied. Obama. Blind ambition. Bad judgment," the ad's narrator says.

Watch: Don't trust a 'Chicago politician' McCain says

Congressional liberals fought for risky sub-prime loans. Congressional liberals fought against more regulation," the narrator continues. "Then, the housing market collapsed costing you billions. In crisis, we need leadership, not bad judgment."

Watch: The latest McCain campaign ad targets Obama's 'bind ambition'

The spot is the latest in a series of attempts by the Arizona senator’s campaign to raise questions about Obama's past ,and portray the Democratic presidential nominee as less than candid about his political origins.

What is the need for Obama campaign to give $800,000 to ACORN for registering bogus votes when Obama will easily win ?

America is still a democracy, not yet Socialist country.

Come November 5th, when McCain goes back to the Senate how can he possible look at his fellow colleagues and say what he did was truth and honesty? When all he did was lie and distort the facts in hopes of his selfish ambition.

I'm 25 and started following politics in the 2000 election- it's sad to see the McCain that was then is not the McCain that is now.

geez, hilary didn't go this far because she knows it's not going to stick (plus she probably had some more sense than mccain). facts are facts, many republicans serve in the same board as ayers. did these people pay attention during the primaries?

ayers the reformed activist versus palin's membership to a secessionist group. i think the later is far far far more dangerous.

To me it's pretty clear that there's only one candidate in this campaign who is blinded by ambition and who would do or say anything to win.

    And it's not "that one".

This is another sign of how McCain has become so erratic. Not to mention the fact that he already erred with the selection of Pailin to be his running mate. Now he cant even make her face the media for fear of what else they may find out that would be too embarrasing to his campaign. Too bad he has to resort to gutter politics to win at all costs. Country first....maybe?

Enough all ready! McCain was complaining this morning that Obama has been suggesting that he and his campaign have been less than truthful? It's empty-headed commercials like this one that show why!

McCain has lost his integrity and is showing absolutely no leadership. In the midst of the biggest economic crisis in nearly 80 years, this is what he talks about. How can anyone continue to support this man?

When was the last time McCain put out an ad about what his plans for the future were????? Didn't he claim to have a new idea? Shouldn't he be talking about it?

Blind ambition? Sounds like a line from his (McCain's) book.

    Dear John:

Maybe you would fare better if you talked about what you would do if you were elected instead of trashing your opponent.

Have you realized the economy is tanking yet?

THIS YEAR Sarah Palin told the Alaska Indepence Party, which wants to succeed from the United States of America: “Keep up the good work,” and “And God bless you.” Plus, the "First Dude" was a member of this party for seven years.

The founder of the AIP said this: "My government is my worst enemy. I’m going to fight them with any means at hand.”

WHO is SARAH PALIN? is what we want to know.

I'm not sure why you are continuing to cover the negative campaign McCain in running and not covering the fact that moderate and respected Republicans, like former Governor Milliken of Michigan, are no longer supporting McCain because of the tone of his campaign. The ads and speeches McCain and Palin are making is old news and don't warrant continuing coverage. The real news in the making is the fact that McCain is destroying his campaign and his legacy as a respectable political figure in the United States.
