[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/10/10/art.mccainad.cnn.jpg caption="The McCain campaign is targeting Obama's connection to Ayers in a new ad."](CNN) - John McCain is continuing his effort to associate Barack Obama with 1960's radical William Ayers, launching a national campaign ad Friday that accuses the Illinois senator of "blind ambition."

"Obama's blind ambition. When convenient, he worked with terrorist Bill Ayers. When discovered, he lied. Obama. Blind ambition. Bad judgment," the ad's narrator says.

Watch: Don't trust a 'Chicago politician' McCain says

Congressional liberals fought for risky sub-prime loans. Congressional liberals fought against more regulation," the narrator continues. "Then, the housing market collapsed costing you billions. In crisis, we need leadership, not bad judgment."

Watch: The latest McCain campaign ad targets Obama's 'bind ambition'

The spot is the latest in a series of attempts by the Arizona senator’s campaign to raise questions about Obama's past ,and portray the Democratic presidential nominee as less than candid about his political origins.

Sounds like McCain't would rather win an election (good luck with that Senator) than tell Americans anything that is true.

One thing is for sure. McCain is going to lose 2 things this November – one is the election. Second is the enormous respect he has earned over decades of public service ('Nam + 26 yrs in the Senate).

I'm actually more scared of McCain than Obama. McCain won't help us but he can possible hurt us. Obama can possibly help American but won't hurt us.

I'm angry. Angry about the economy dipping so low and the world banks collapsing and all John McSame can talk about is Barack Obama.

I honestly hate him now. Vote for Obama I don't think this country can handle 4 more years of Bush.

This guy is talking about democrats fighting against more regulation when there are about 1000 clips of McCain out there talking about how he is a deregulator. This guy is erratic. Also, isn't this ad itself erratic? He went from talking about Ayers to talking about Congressional liberals. Mccain's the one that's dangerous.

What a sad conclusion to Mr. McCain's political life work. He is making a mockery of Democracy - and the world is watching.

McCain makes me sick....these attacks are despicable. I cannot believe that rational, reasonable Independents would fall for such crap....
McCain has sunk to new lows – sold his soul to the hatemongers. Talk about blind ambition – this man wants to win at absolutely any cost...
shame, shame, shame on John McCain

The general public needs to let the 'bucket list candidate and the bimbo' know that we the people will not tolerate the lies and the half truths for the republican party any further......

The fear and smear campaigns of the past will not work so mccain take your alzheimer's medicine and find a corner and go sit down

Biden is your friend Teddy Kennedy unpatriotic for hiding 500 million dollars in Fiji as reported last year by Drudge Report and many other internet sites, and not going to pay the death tax or any income tax on it? For those that think Obama or Biden who are both lawyers and graduated from elite schools have integrity just look at Wall Street. THese so called smartest in America that ripped off America graduated from the same schools! I know from my service in the Navy that Annapolis instills INTEGRITY in their graduates!

expect the attacks to not only last but intensify as election day draws near. the republicans have nothing else. the neo-cons have bankrupted the nation and their own party. this is not an election as much as it is an intelligence test.

McCain is asking a question that is about to blow up in his face. Obama is ready for the question. And his response will be mind blowing.

In addition, Talk Radio is now getting desperate. They are flipping on all their positions. None of the host has a consistent message. There even seems to be infighting between shows. They are trying to scare voters, and acting like madmen. They are loosing creditability trying to defend and sell the McCain Campaign. It is clear they are desperate, because they are reaching for any wind of scandal they can find, and spreading it without checking the facts. They are trying to criticize CNN for not participating in their sleaze fest. The more they lose, the better CNN will do. CNN please do not listen or be influenced by their rhetoric. What they know, is depending on the outcome of this election. You will win, and they will lose, for cretin.

  24. CNN please post this!

After seeing the way these people behave at the McCain-Palin rallies I have decided to vote Democrat for the first time in my life. If McCain didn't agree with what these people were shouting, he would stop the rally and have them escorted away. Booing is one thing. Shouting "kill him!" is another. According to their own logic used against Obama and Rev. Wright/Ayers, if you don't speak out against something right in front of your eyes then you condone it. Period.

Yes, ditto... What everyone else in the country except for those at the McPalin hate-rallies are saying...

More of the same destructive, terror-filled lies. It's a familiar pattern of scaring Americans into giving up their civil liberties, their rationality, and their good judgment to serve the needs of a few, or in this case, McCain.

America is better than these two. I'm proud that we're finally going to stand up to this nonsense. Yes we can.
