Obama's 'blind ambition' targeted

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/10/10/art.mccainad.cnn.jpg caption="The McCain campaign is targeting Obama's connection to Ayers in a new ad."](CNN) - John McCain is continuing his effort to associate Barack Obama with 1960's radical William Ayers, launching a national campaign ad Friday that accuses the Illinois senator of "blind ambition."

"Obama's blind ambition. When convenient, he worked with terrorist Bill Ayers. When discovered, he lied. Obama. Blind ambition. Bad judgment," the ad's narrator says.

Watch: Don't trust a 'Chicago politician' McCain says

Congressional liberals fought for risky sub-prime loans. Congressional liberals fought against more regulation," the narrator continues. "Then, the housing market collapsed costing you billions. In crisis, we need leadership, not bad judgment."

Watch: The latest McCain campaign ad targets Obama's 'bind ambition'

The spot is the latest in a series of attempts by the Arizona senator’s campaign to raise questions about Obama's past ,and portray the Democratic presidential nominee as less than candid about his political origins.

I'm surprised John McCain's well crafted message of hate, fear, and lies is not resonating more with voters. It may have something to do with the fact that the economy is terrible, and McCain only offers to continue the same failed Bush policies that got us here in the first place.

False claims are rampant and ACORN is the Republican attack du jour. Barack Obama was NOT a community organizer for ACORN. He was a community organizer for a group of community churches that established the Developing Communities Project (DCP) to encourage people in blue-collar, run-down communities to contribute their skills to improving their communities. He never worked for ACORN in any other capacity at all but merely represented them in a legal case many years ago.

Sen. Obama received an award for representing ACORN in a successful lawsuit, along with the U.S. Department of Justice, against the state of Illinois to force state compliance with a federal voting access law. Do your homework and you won't look like such fools for spreading false information.

These smears don't impress voters and actually expose the deceit and desperation of the McCain campaign. If you can't win with the truth, please pack up your slime machine and go home. This nonsense doesn't help one person pay for their health insurance, fill up their gas tank, or protect their retirement fund.

I am so sick of John McCain. His campaign will surely go down as the most disengenious, the most negative, and the most scurryless in this country's history.

    He has no shame...

Geez, stop already with the character attacks! You are behind in the polls and did not do good at either of the two debates. If you want to help yourself John, talk about the issues and your plans and not what Obama did with whom when.

Desperate times apparently call for desperate measures....just a sad sad situation! His ship is sinking....and fast!

Clinton used the Fleetwood Mac song "Don't Stop" as his campaign theme in '92. I'd like to dedicate another Fleetwood Mac song to the GOP – it's called "Landslide".

Nobody likes to talk about how McCain conspired with the Vietnamese government against the US. While a POW he was indoctrinated with communist ideas and pledged allegiance to their government. He is a manchurian candidate. Who's the terrorist? McCain

Another important part of the party's platform is a demand that all federal lands in the state be "returned" to Alaska – a curious position, given that the U.S. government – and not Alaska settlers – bought the territory from Russia in 1867. The party in general advocates as little federal and government intrusion in people's lives as possible: no federal or state aid for schools, roads, hospitals, health care, social security, or farmers and the privatization of all government functions short of international diplomacy and defense. These positions put the party far to the right of Republicans like John McCain – or even our state representative Marty Seifert, who recently praised the "private-public partnership" that brought the new Regional Events Center to Marshall.

Who is John McCain? Born not in the U.S.A. but in Panama, future home of dictator Manuel Norriega. As a young man, McCain spent five and 1/2 years living with the North Vietnamese during a time of war. Given an opportunity to return to his own country, he refused. He says it didn't affect him, but how can we be sure? Has he ever been given complete psychological testing? How do we know he isn't secretly waiting to do Hanoi's bidding?

You see, Republicans, how silly this is? Try to stay focused on what's important and you'll see that the Obama / Biden ticket offers the best hope for our country.

No word describes Sen. McCain better. He still believes (and probably rightly so) that he should have won the Republican nomination in 2000 and that it was stolen from him.
This is it for him and the thought of losing this election to THAT ONE is tearing him up.
There can be no other explanation for a once honorable man running the dirtiest campaign ever (and given Bush's campaigns that is saying something).

Shame on you Sen. McCain. It's not too late to regain your soul.

What about Palin's connections to the Alaskan Independence Party? These people are anti-American radicals and Palin's husband was a registered member of this group. Palin actually addressed this separatist group this year as Governor. Why is the media not covering this? This is a real connection. Obama was just serving on a Republican funded board with Ayers. Are all the Republicans who sat on that board suspects too? Why single out Obama? He was 8 years old when Ayers was a radical. Palin is friends with current radicals. Why isn't CNN talking about this? All they do is post the McCain talking points.

Umm last time I checked, if we are speaking in generalizations, conservaties are for deregulation while liberals are against it, i.e. for more regulation which would require more government... Can we go back to a time were conservatives and liberals weren't respective devils and were what they truly are, people who may disagree about how the country should run but still lvoed this country...

Obama doesn't even help his brother, that lives in a mud hut, in Kenya. What makes you think he is going to help us? It comes down to character, which he has none of.

I do not care about all of this past history we all have a history some worse than others, but that is in the past why can't they stick to the issues. I am a 55 year old who have worked for 28 years on the same job and was looking forward to taking early retirement when I get 3o years of service, but now the way the ECONOMY is I may have to stay on longer. I don't know what all of the nonsense that they are throwing in the campaign have to do with getting the country back to where the citizens feel comfortable , but I am not now or have ever been able to call my self a hockey mom . After divorce I had to raise two children on my own but then the economy was stable enough for me to do it. Now I am raising one grandchild do to unforseen circumstance and it is harder to raise the one than it was to raise two.

McCain and his handlers must think the American People are a bunch of idiots. We can see what is right in front of us. News stories don't just disappear... you can go to archives and see for yourself what happened last month, last year, Keating 5 yrs ago.

I can only think that they are tryng for the racists in our society... those people who will tell themselves anything to prevent the election of a black president. Those have to be the only people who would swallow what he and Palin are dishing out.

If all of you would stop your blind hatred and listen. Each time Obama talks about William Ayers, we hear a little more about their relationship which Obama's advisors have told us no relationship exists. Obama needs to come clean on this issue to make it go away. Otherwise he will not be a trustworthy president.

  22. Turnabout is fair play

McLameStain and Failin Palin are messing up ANY chances for the Senate and House Republicans to make any gains against the Dems this year and I love it. Not to mention, there won't be a Rethugnican in the White House for YEARS after McWalkingcane's little stint here against Obama. He and Stalin Palin might as well give it up cause there's gonna be a new sheriff in town on November 4th!

This is getting really sad!!! What ever happened to "country first"? Jhon McCain is looking so desperate and weak right now. His VP pick is no help to him because she is running her own 2012 campaign. I wouldn't be surprised to see McCain try to bring back Rev Wright. What has happened to John Mccain? I've followed politics for a few years and I remember how GW Bush treated him and McCain vowed to never run a campaign like that,so what does he do? He goes out and hires the same guys that ran GW Bush's campaign against him. I have a question "WHERE IS THE REAL JOHN MCCAIN?"

on the night of last debate, were "many" parties held, with only "swing voters and independents", and all across TEXAS, the vote went to OBAMA..I seriously doubt even at this point, anything McCain group tries to throw at Obama, will work ! He has ( and Palin too ) tried to stir up way too much hatred, lied way too much, conducted the "dirtiest" swift boat campaign I have ever seen..
we are "christians", and while we dont always agree with everything Obama proposes, we DO agree he is the most qualified to be president, with "coolest" temper, soundest judgement, and at this time, best plan to take america forward..we are so glad to see the NEW america emerging...
