Obama ad: 'Smears are all McCain has left'

Obama released a tough new response ad Friday.

Obama released a tough new response ad Friday.

Barack Obama’s campaign released a new ad late Friday in response to a hard-hitting spot from the Republican National Committee’s independent expenditure unit that focused on his relationships with Chicago figures like William Ayers and Bill Daley; the script follows. The campaign has not announced where the spot will be airing.

NARRATOR: John McCain admits if the election’s about the economy, he’s going to lose.

Now, as Americans lose their jobs and savings, McCain’s resorting to smears and false attacks

Barack Obama launched his first campaign here (a picture of a hotel flashes on screen), not in anyone’s living room

And Bill Daley? He was confirmed as Commerce Secretary and praised for his great work by none other than John McCain (a picture of the two men together appears.)

It’s clear, with no plan to fix our economy, smears are all McCain has left.

(Republicans have alleged that Obama launched his first campaign in Ayers’ living room – a charge the Illinois senator has denied.)

John, clean up your own house first. Too many lobbyists, Keating Five in your past, and taking both sides of every issue. What were you thinking when you nominated Palin? You certainly didn't put "country first" when you let your little head think for your big head.

I like the ad!! McCain is now desperate with barely 3 weeks left to go! With his rabid crowd now chanting vile obscenities at Obama, please let us remember to put him in our prayers for protection against those hateful people.

With both McCain and Palin having committed ethics violations, and abuses of power, McCain with keaton and Palin with troopergate, they have no credibility. Why then do the media continue to advertise the campaigns of such people? Is the media conspiring to defeat Obama? If no conspiracy, why is there no detailed reporting about McCain's involvement with Keaton? Or about his involvement with Vicke Iseman? Do such involvements by McCain raise legitimate issues of judgment, more so than do the innuendos of McCain/Palin about Obama? If sound judgment is the issue, then Trooper gate and Keaton Five clearly show McCain/Palin to inferior to Obama's, who has never been charge of accused of comitting any wrongs...

It is evident that the Mc Cain's campaign is frustrated by Obama"s lead, and when your adversarry is a guy as impressive as Barack Obama ,smearing is your last resort.

All of this anger and hate being generated scare me. Racial shouts, religious fear mongering, ethnic slurs; It is reminiscent of the atmosphere stirred up with crowds during WWII. Is this what the Republican party has come to?
We are at a moment of great economic woes and panic ensues. Instead of talking about solutions from the next would-be president and vice president, crowds get incited to rage. Good going, Sarah!

This is how you do a negative ad, folks.

I'm not being sarcastic, the Obama campaign hit the nail on the head, and shut down the McCampaign with this one. Meanwhile, John is finding himself in the awkward position of telling rabid supporters to "calm down and be respectful". Unfortunately, it was his campaign that opened that can of worms.

This ad is powerful, and on message.

If you were almost senile, couldn't keep your stories straight from day to day, had a hot temper, and were an angry old man, you would only have "smears" left too.

Is anyone concerned that Louis Farrakhan is saying Obama is the Messiah. When the Messiah talks the young listens. If Obama is a muslim Messiah, is he a false prophet to christians? Just who is Obama. What is happening to our youth? This is a man who took his children to a church that the preacher dams the US. Has he met with Louis Farrakhan. Why does Farrakhan think a christian is a muslim messiah? Is this why Obama said we have been waiting for him? Does he think he is the messiah? We will just have to wait for these answers. Pray they don't come to late

If John McCain loses the election for any reason, we (the American people) are the real losers. It's really sad to see Obama using fear tactics race baiting to win the election.
