Palin: We can't let 'leftist groups...steal this election'

(CNN) – The McCain campaign is fundraising off embattled community group ACORN.
“The truth is that far-left groups in this country will do anything to help the Obama-Biden Democrats win the White House and maintain their majorities in Congress,” Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin writes in a fund-raising e-mail sent out Monday afternoon. “And last week, we found out they're going even further to win.”
“The left-wing activist group, ACORN, is now under investigation for voter registration fraud in a number of battleground states. . . . We can't allow leftist groups like ACORN to steal this election.”
ACORN called the McCain camp’s suggestion “ridiculous.”
“We’re proud of our record of helping 1.3 million new registrants get involved in the process just as we are proud of our work to ensure clean and fair elections,” ACORN spokesperson Brian Kettenring told CNN Monday. “Candidates and parties may win or lose elections. But the assertion that anybody is trying to steal this election is ridiculous,” added Kettenring.

The community organizing group also said that in 2006, John McCain appeared at an immigration reform rally it co-sponsored in Miami. “Maybe it is out of desperation that Senator McCain has forgotten that he was for ACORN before he was against ACORN,” Bertha Lewis, ACORN’s chief organizer, said in a statement released Monday.
Last week, McCain called for an investigation into allegations ACORN is engaging in voter fraud, and his McCain campaign released a Web video linking the group to Barack Obama. Speaking about ACORN last Friday, McCain’s campaign manager Rick Davis told reporters “the only reason you pack lists of voter registration is because you want to steal votes, because you want to cheat.”

CNN recently reported about questionable voter registrations submitted by ACORN in Lake County, Indiana and about a raid of the group’s Las Vegas office by Nevada state officials conducting a voter fraud investigation.

Palin just needs to shut up already! This woman is beyond pathetic! Thank God people are finally seeing the Republican team for what they are...desperate, lying and angry. McCain has shown his true colors. He's erratic, short-tempered, doesn't have a plan, is mean-spirited and divisional. Just the fact that he selected Palin as his running mate shows poor judgment. If he truly had "country first" in mind he would never have chosen this right wing, uneducated, il-informed, snide, hypocritical nut case. He sounds like a spoiled little boy who is used to getting his way and not handling it well. Grow up!
Obama and Biden have consistently taken the high road, have actual plans, are calm, cool and collected, highly educated and will be ready on day one. I feel for them, though, because Bush has made such a mess of things that Obama and Biden will have one hell of a clean up job ahead of them. Best of luck to the BEST team!! Go Obama/Biden!

But we can't tell the truth about a communitty organising group conducting such fradulent activities. After all, Obama was a community organiser. Must be another one of those don't touch issues. Let's see..if a group that actively encourages people to register to vote and take part in the election.....does she mean that, by contrast, she would support groups that actively block people from voting and encourage people to stay home on election day.
