Clinton nixes idea of serving on Supreme Court

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/10/14/art.clintonsc.gi.jpg caption="Clinton said she is happy being a senator from New York."](CNN) - It’s a question that arose even before Hillary Clinton abandoned her presidential bid four months ago: What's next for the junior senator from New York?

Definitely not a spot on the Supreme Court, and likely not a bid to be Senate Majority Leader or President of the United States, she told Fox News Tuesday.

Asked directly about rumors she may have her eye on the bench, Clinton said there was “zero” chance of that happening: "I have no interest in doing that," she said, laughing.

Speculation mounted it may be a possibility after Lawrence Tribe, a constitutional law expert at the Harvard Law School who is advising Obama's campaign, said last spring he thought Clinton may be a good fit for the high court.

"I certainly think that Senator Obama's inclination to look for people of broad experience, people whose deepest values and whose empathy with others makes them wise human beings as well as expert lawyers, would mean he wouldn't rule out people such as Senator Clinton just because they don't have judicial experience," he told the National Journal.

Others in the chattering class have said a run for Senate Majority Leader, replacing Sen. Harry Reid, is much more likely, given Clinton's success in the chamber and the respect she has forged there. Many also speculate Clinton still harbors presidential ambitions, and could run in four or eight years depending on if Barack Obama is elected.

Watch: Clinton back on the trail

But speaking to Fox Tuesday, Clinton said the chances she pursues either of those options are "probably zero."

"There's an old saying: Bloom where you're planted. And I've always loved that," she said. "I love being in the Senate. I ran for president because I thought we had to make drastic changes given what I viewed as the damage that the Bush administration had done here at home and abroad. Now I'm going to work very hard with President Obama to repair that damage."

Oh will you Hillary people get over yourselves. I love Hillary too but she lost the nomination. She can run again in 2016.
Hillary will be a force to be reckoned with no matter where she is.

I hope she might reconsider one day, as Hillary would be a fine Supreme Court Justice. I have supported Senator Obama during the entire race, but I also admire Senator Clinton. I think she would be terrific on the Court.

Hillary Clinton is one smart cookie! But I would have to agree with her – she does not belong on the Supreme Court. And she should definitely NOT create dirision and division in the Senate by attempting to unseat Reid as Majority Leader.

The very thought of the following send a warm tingle down my spine, leg, nether regions and what not. Ohhhhhh such a great thing it would be if we could have, as one of the bloggers afore mentioned, Obama as a supreme court judge after 8 yrs as an executive.

You must be an "IDIOT" or perhaps a "BUSH" to hand a man the executive, legislative and the judiciary arms of a government and that too to a MAN that HAS NO executive experience AT ALL!! You need soem real help!! God be with you, if you are a believer. If not may some psychiatric help show you the way.

People like you voted BUSH in for 8 yrs and now turn around and complain like a cry baby. Do yourself a favour and do the country a favour – please move. Pretty please!!

We don't just need 1 Democrat President, we also need 60 Democrat Senators and 287 Democrat representatives.

We also need Hillary Clinton to continue in the Senate. We'll be losing a lot of our great Democrat Senators to old age, retirement, and health issues, we need experienced people in there to provide leadership to the new crew.

Why are people hating on Hillary? So she ran for President against Obama, what? was he supposed to be unopposed?

They were friends before, and they are friends now...there's no hypocrisy! You know, Obama is a great candidate and he has stayed positive even when McCain has gone negative. I am sure he would not approve of his supporters cutting down the Clintons...if it's in the past, then let it go!

Also, I would love to see Hillary in any number of offices, but I don't think her nomination to the Supreme Court would get past the Senate...having no judicial experience would probably doom that nomination, so it shouldn't even be attempted. A cabinet position, more leadership in the Senate, or eventually another presidential bid seem likely. But for now, Gobama!!!! 🙂

She's as qualified for the supreme court as Obama is qualified to be president, neither has any relevant experience.

I don't trust any Nominee, they all say the best thing in the world to win. But if they could do the same way they talk ?
I don't trust Obama, he's so good at talking. But it seems he doesn't have much experience in International Affairs .
I'm also worried for Mc Cain, he's too old to be a president. If something happens to his health, Palin will replace him. And she the first woman in US to be President?
However, people have no choice . They seem to vote for Obama to have some change in Economy. But listen, Economy doens't change right away . It takes time .
If you guys give Mc Cain a chance to win. I think it's better. He's a patriot. I trust him more than Obama.

I adore Hillary Clinton. She has the smarts to be anything she wants.

Then I look at Sara Palin and I laugh at the fact that she is a totally ignorant woman who dosen't know squat and is running for VP of the USA.....being flirty and cutesy to make up for her ignorance and lack of knowledge.
Palin has ruined everything that real women stand for.

Why should Hillary say what her future plans are right now? She's being smart and focusing on the presidential race. She has time to figure out what is next. Fox just asked the question to try and divide the Democratic party.

Hillary 016 for one term. Why not? Oh by the way that McCain comment yesterday "We got them where we want them" meaning Barrack's position in the poll. Well, my fellow Barrackian that was a true sign of ignorance. Like the captain of the Titanic "let her rip she is big enough" McCain has underestimated the speed, size and trajectory of storm Barrack. As a result not only McCain presidental bid, but the entire RNC will be smashed beyond recognition. 11/05/08 and thereafter will be a mourning time for the RNC.

Hillary is rich and whether the democrats win or not she will be okay just like Bill said on Larry King Live. All of you still upset because she didn't get in and plan to vote McCain will NOT be okay if the republicans get in. Please think with your heads please.
