Palin assails Obama's connections to ACORN

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/10/17/art.swainpalin.rally.jpg caption="Palin is now demanding that Obama disclose all communication between his campaign and ACORN."]
WEST CHESTER, Ohio (CNN) - Sarah Palin questioned Barack Obama’s ties to ACORN in her most forceful and comprehensive language to date, and demanded that the Democratic presidential nominee turn over all communication between the campaign and the progressive organization, which claims to have registered 1.3 million voters nationwide.

“As for ACORN and voter fraud, now they're under federal investigation, and John and are calling on the Obama campaign to release communications it has had with this group and to do so immediately,” Palin told an audience, with House Minority Leader John Boehner applauding on stage behind her.

The FBI confirmed Tuesday that they have begun preliminary a investigation of ACORN’s registration efforts. Palin accused the group of “rampant voter fraud,” although technically they are being accused of voter registration fraud.

“You deserve to know, Palin said. “You deserve to know because we do need to know more clearly about the choices that we have on Nov. 4. In this election, especially here in Ohio, you’re going to be asked to choose between a candidate who will not disavow a group committing voter fraud and a leader who will not tolerate it.”

Obama’s relationship with the community organizing group has been highlighted by Republicans ever since it was accused of submitting fraudulent voter applications in various states, including Ohio. Obama helped train ACORN organizers in Chicago after law school and later represented the group in a 1995 motor voter case that, in Obama’s words, “helped people get registered at DMVs.”

During the Democratic primaries, the campaign paid a group affiliated with ACORN $800,000 for canvassing efforts. ACORN endorsed Obama during the primaries but has not formally backed a candidate in the general election.

Palin said Obama is “fuzzing up his connections” to the group and that the Democrat would drag a lot of baggage” into the Oval Office if elected with ACORN’s help.

“These associations are important,” she said. “They go to the heart of someone's judgment and truthfulness. And it is not mean-spirited, it is not negative campaigning to ask someone about their record. It's in fairness to the electorate.”

The Obama campaign repudiated Palin's criticisms.

"We have not worked with ACORN at all in the general election," said Obama spokesman Tommy Vietor. "Rather than make these false, desperate attacks, the McCain-Palin campaign should release an economic plan that actually helps the middle class instead of giving billions in tax cuts to big corporations."

It is amazing how employees of Acorn are already convicted in the national media and no doubt by Ms. Palin, while the criminals responsible for the wall street melt-down are not.
The American media is quick to label minorities with adjectives that convict while not using the same labels for white collar thugs in suits. Amazing. By the way, anyone can register to vote as no proof of identity is required. It is the responsibility of the county commissioners office to validate & authenticate registration forms. As a reminder, the Florida election was stolen due to institutionalized white collar fraud but no one went to jail on that one, did they? Certain demographics of our population will do whatever necessary to achieve their agenda, and this demographic is NOT a minority demographic so let's keep it real, ok? And please, quit hidding behind your Christian values to further causes because true Christians do not operate under Ceasar's law but God's law. Actions and words are telling as to who the real Christians are.

Acorn voter registration has nothing to do with the Supreme Court ruling with Ohio.. It was the Republician's trying to stop new voters from being able to vote...

Nobody cares, except the small minded bigots carrying around monkeys with Obama stickers on the, the radical extremists kicking reporters and yelling "kill him" at Palin rallies.

Again, nobody cares. Except the fringe that McCain is so very proud of.

Until McCain and Palin get this through their dense heads they will continue to do poorly.

and Sarah, while you're at it, cough up all those private mails that were used for government business in Alaska – another news organization has reported that Alaska wanted $15 million dollars for copies of them – how about some transparency from you, Gov. Palin?

    is that all you've got?
Old news, just like Sarah Palin.
If you want to talk about bad judgement, how about the bad judgement McCain showed picking you?
McCain said today for the MSM to leave "Joe the plumber" alone.... WEll, wasn't he the one who pointed him out?
One more case of John McCain's erratic behavior and blaming others for his mistakes.

I agree that the democrats should provide that information. Then and only then will we know any truths. And I also believe that Sarah Palin should provide the information on her extra e-mail account that she kept on her old campaign site. I get sick of all the hypocrital talk from her. You want and call for transparency, yet you continue to hide behind the GOP. Give me a break! McCain has my respect, Palin gets none!

I just saw a new Gallup poll out of only legally registered voters. It shows McCain ahead of Obama, 55% to 45%. Obama jumps ahead with 49% to McCain's 47% if illegally registered Acorn stooges are included

  17. Cry Baby Palin

I might also add that your running mate McCain, during the debate would not even say you were qualified to be the President if something would happen to him. The only credit he could come up with, for you, was being a Mother to a special needs baby. Hardly a recommendation to become the President of the USA.

OK Barbara because Palin trying to get a Trooper fired who drank on the job and tazered a 10 year old is equal to Obama paying $800,000 to an organization that has blood on their hands from the mortgage crisis as well as voter fraud in this election....LOL

"trooper gate is over" – sorry no October surprise you were praying for

The e-mails are a non issue, she may have used a personal account and that was no doubt silly. However the people on the other end were not using personal accounts. So the e-mails still were going to a .gov address and therefore logged just aas if she was also using one.

Giving $800k to a group that is under investigation for voter problems is far diffrent than either of these issues as it effects the highest office directly.

Regardless of the political and/or moral reasons that decide your vote.

Regardless of what you think of the main stream media: Anderson Cooper, Larry King, Bill O'Reilly, George Stephanopoulos, Bob Schieffer, Tom Brokaw, etc.

In this day and age all Presidential and VP candidates should be open to ANY question from the non-extremist media (sure, leave Olbermann aside).

You should DEMAND that Gov. Sarah Palin be NO EXCEPTION.

You are not doing it for yourself and you are not doing it for your Party. You are demanding it for YOUR COUNTRY.
