Palin ignores her own Pakistan remark while criticizing Obama

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/10/15/palin4.jpg caption="Gov. Palin criticized Obama's foreign policy Tuesday."]
RENO, Nevada (CNN) - Sarah Palin’s pointed criticism of Barack Obama’s foreign policy agenda Tuesday morning included a swipe at Obama’s stated commitment to strike at terrorists inside Pakistan’s borders if they are in the sights of the American military.

“Senator Obama has also advocated sending our U.S. military into Pakistan without the approval of the Pakistani government,” Palin said. “Invading the sovereign territory of a troubled partner in the war against terrorism.”

But Palin herself has advocated the same approach.

Palin told a voter at a retail stop in Philadelphia in September that the United States should “absolutely” cross the border into Pakistan to hunt terrorists, a statement that appeared to contradict John McCain's preference to negotiate with the Pakistani government first, or at the very least, to not publicly announce such a strategy.

At Tony Luke’s cheesesteaks in South Philadelphia, Temple University graduate student Michael Rovito asked the vice presidential candidate several questions about United States foreign policy towards Pakistan.

“So we do cross border, like from Afghanistan to Pakistan you think?” Rovito asked.

"If that’s what we have to do stop the terrorists from coming any further in, absolutely, we should," Palin responded, before moving on to greet other voters.

In an interview with CBS’s Katie Couric several days later, Palin re-iterated that “we will do what we have to do to secure the United States of America and her allies.”

When Couric asked John McCain, seated next to Palin in the interview, if that was “something you shouldn’t say out loud,” McCain said, “Of course not.”

Even though Palin was talking to a voter at a campaign stop organized by her campaign, both Palin and McCain dismissed the caught-on-camera exchange with Rovito as “gotcha journalism.”

I forgot, is it Sarah Palin's daughter that has down syndrome or is it Sarah herself, or both??? A little help please.

PS: Where is the story about John McCain reffering to Japaneese people as "gooks"??? They have a video of him saying it in public!!! Imagine how big the story would be by now if Obama had reffered to Japaneese Americans as "gooks" in public, on video??? The press is very hypocritical, racist, & one sided in their coverage! John McCain is a degenerate racist and this white elitist media needs to stop protecting his degenerate ideologies.

I have nothing to say. They just think that if you close your eyes and wish hard enough, Dreams do come true.

Starting with Reagan this divisive and deceptive political-speak dysfunction has spread like a "cancer" (to quote one of their own) in the Republican Party. Look what it has done to America and the world via Bush-Cheney. Elect McCain-Palin and you are shooting yourself not in the foot, but in the head. When will the duh-voters ever learn? Maybe never. THAT'S the problem!

During an interview in Colorado to a local station yesterday, Gov Palin was asked a question submitted by a 2nd grader regarding the duties of the Vice President. Our Governor answered; help the senate in writing new laws. Read the whole story on Huffington Post, it was just put up an hour ago. This woman is a joke and she is questioning Biden’s words. McCain’s camp better be worried this is reminiscent of the Potato story and Quale. And you right wing nut jobs think Sara is ready to be VP ..

She says any thing and people cheer, the media covers it and she continues to the next location adding more drama. She is credited for "bringing back the base".

Palin is also ignoring her lack of knowledge and understanding while criticizing Obama who will run complete circles around her.

This woman will do or say anything to get the chance to parade around the whitehouse. She is taking the vp spot just like she did that beauty contest she lost.

I wonder if she can find Pakistan on a map. She's not stupid, but she certainly doesn't have the foreign policy experience necessary for the job of VP, let alone President.

I must say say she is correct if The New York Time aka toilet paper has printed anything about her prescription drug issues. Additionally I don't think "news organization" should endorsed anyone who is running for political office. Ironically, she is going to Fox, and it's sleazily organization to talk about this issue. After all it was the Republicans who Fox aka sleaze, smeared her and and her John Macain in 2000.

I cannot believe therre are people in this country that believe she is qualified! What an insult to women and the nation that McCain thinks she could be president.

What scares me more is that people don't see it. I think she draws such crowds because everyone keeps hoping she will mess up and finally show her true side!

I am truly stunned by the ignorance of this woman. Its difficult to believe how many people are actually going to her raliies, she was quoted saying "joe the plumber calls Obama's policies, Socialist" Well why are you quoting Joe the plumber over and over again, surely if Joe had soo much economic sense, he wouldn't be a plumber, but would be heading the treasury!
Palin, it would be nice to actually use your own head to make your point( thats ofcourse if you have a point!)

The saddest thing about Palin's whole story arc is that from now until the foreseeable future, any politician who comes out of Alaska will be compared to her. The state, which by many accounts is lovely, will be looked upon as the place that produced this woman. It's just not fair.
