Palin: God will do the right thing on election day

FINDLAY, Ohio (CNN) –- In an interview posted online Wednesday, Sarah Palin told Dr. James Dobson of “Focus on the Family” that she is confident God will do “the right thing for America” on Nov. 4.
Dobson asked the vice presidential hopeful if she is concerned about John McCain’s sagging poll numbers, but Palin stressed that she was “not discouraged at all.”
“To me, it motivates us, makes us work that much harder,” she told the influential Christian leader, whose radio show reaches millions of listeners daily. “And it also strengthens my faith because I know at the end of the day putting this in God’s hands, the right thing for America will be done, at the end of the day on Nov. 4.”
Dobson praised Palin's opposition to abortion rights, to which the governor affirmed that she is “hardcore pro-life.”
She said giving birth to her son Trig, who has Down syndrome, has given her the opportunity “to be walking the walk and not just talking the talk” in her long-standing opposition to abortion.
Dobson - who has never been warm to McCain - asked Palin if her “private conversations” with the GOP nominee had revealed a true commitment to the Republican party’s pro-life platform, which calls for a constitutional amendment banning abortions.
"I do, from the bottom of my heart," Palin assured Dobson. “John McCain is solidly there on those solid planks in our platform that build the right agenda for America.”
She also thanked her supporters - including Dobson, who said he and his wife were asking “for God’s intervention” on election day - for their prayers of support.
“It is that intercession that is so needed,” she said. “And so greatly appreciated. And I can feel it too, Dr. Dobson. I can feel the power of prayer, and that strength that is provided through our prayer warriors across this nation. And I so appreciate it.”
The interview was taped on Monday by phone while Palin was campaigning in Colorado Springs, where “Focus on the Family” is headquartered.

She is too extreme for me...but she is right about God doing the right thing on Nov. 4th and that will be to elect Barack Obama our next POTUS. I am not for abortions, but I am for the right to make choices in life. It's what makes us human. I am always surprised by Pro-Life supporters who use that as a sole basis to vote Republican. Bush is Pro-Life and nothing has changed regarding abortions in this country because of it. What has changed is our economy, wars that kill all people of all ages, poverty, education...in other words, more than just one issue.
No sin should be put before another. Palin's unethical violations that inlcude greed and waste are sins as far as I am concerned. So she is suddenly a moral authority???

So if Obama wins, will Sarah accept the infinite wisdom of God that she was dead wrong for America. The notion that God wont help non republicans and if you not a republican, then you are not a believer (at least by their definitions) or a patriotic american is the cheapest logic propagated by the GOP machine. When will parties rise above petty politics and start thinking of the good of the people.
The Sarah Palin who seems to be calling Obama as Socialist needs to just review their own health care agenda. Mr McCain wants to take from the wealthier sick people and divert it around. In other words, Socialism as defined by Palin and McCain themselves.
I wish GOP will really start acting truly in the interest of people. Stop behaving that they have proprietary rights to God & America. On the same note, Democrats are all poised to repeat the mistakes of Bush-Cheney if they let power go to their head.

John McCain lost every chance he had at winning this election when he choose Sarah Palin as his VP pick. This woman is pure EVIL. As a moderate Republican, she just solidified my write in of none of the above. What do we have to do to get our party back to the real core platform of limited government and reliance on individual achievement? I'm so sick of our "leaders" pandering to the religious right. We really appreciate your involvement in this election, and especially your support for Obama. I truly believe that it will be YOU guys that will put our beloved Senator in the White House. More than us, more is at stake for you all in what direction the future of our country takes.
I am making an appeal to you to not get complacent and go out and cast your vote, preferably during the Early Election period. Remember the early election will end in most places by the end of this month. Not only you vote, please make a list of friends and relatives that you know and get them also out to vote. Lastly, talk to your parents if they are not planning on voting, or they are not planning to vote for Obama – convince them as best as you can.
I saw a poll today that said the chances of youth vote this year is not all that different from previous Election years. We can’t afford that!!! We need to make a big improvement in the youth vote to get Obama elected. So, between now and Nov 4th, you need to do the extra bit. We are counting on you!
Yeah, just like God decided, during the final minutes of the Super Bowl, that the Patriots had enjoyed enough success over the season and it was the Giants' turn to win.
