Palin: God will do the right thing on election day

FINDLAY, Ohio (CNN) –- In an interview posted online Wednesday, Sarah Palin told Dr. James Dobson of “Focus on the Family” that she is confident God will do “the right thing for America” on Nov. 4.
Dobson asked the vice presidential hopeful if she is concerned about John McCain’s sagging poll numbers, but Palin stressed that she was “not discouraged at all.”
“To me, it motivates us, makes us work that much harder,” she told the influential Christian leader, whose radio show reaches millions of listeners daily. “And it also strengthens my faith because I know at the end of the day putting this in God’s hands, the right thing for America will be done, at the end of the day on Nov. 4.”
Dobson praised Palin's opposition to abortion rights, to which the governor affirmed that she is “hardcore pro-life.”
She said giving birth to her son Trig, who has Down syndrome, has given her the opportunity “to be walking the walk and not just talking the talk” in her long-standing opposition to abortion.
Dobson - who has never been warm to McCain - asked Palin if her “private conversations” with the GOP nominee had revealed a true commitment to the Republican party’s pro-life platform, which calls for a constitutional amendment banning abortions.
"I do, from the bottom of my heart," Palin assured Dobson. “John McCain is solidly there on those solid planks in our platform that build the right agenda for America.”
She also thanked her supporters - including Dobson, who said he and his wife were asking “for God’s intervention” on election day - for their prayers of support.
“It is that intercession that is so needed,” she said. “And so greatly appreciated. And I can feel it too, Dr. Dobson. I can feel the power of prayer, and that strength that is provided through our prayer warriors across this nation. And I so appreciate it.”
The interview was taped on Monday by phone while Palin was campaigning in Colorado Springs, where “Focus on the Family” is headquartered.

What's the "right thing?" This lady is getting on my nerves. So now God disapproves of Obama? I thought one of the fundamentals of Christianity is to not judge. . . I can't wait to vote for Obama, and no God didn't tell me to vote him; I just know it's the "right thing" to do.
My faith tells me these are the virtues to strive for;
Valour: Pursuit of Courage and Knowledge
Generosity: Pursuit of Giving
Liberality: Pursuit of Will
Diligence: Pursuit of Ethics
Patience: Pursuit of Peace
Kindness: Pursuit of Charity
Humility: Pursuit of Modesty
Only one of our candidates represents these. It's not McCain.
So essentially she is saying God is on their side. But they are also blaming voter registration fraud for potential losses. So if they lose, does that mean ACORN is more powerful than God?
I am also amused that she admits that any chance they have of winning is based on prayer.

So Dobson the expert on "Family Values" thinks that the only think we should focus on is abortion rights. Forget about the lack of a clear plan by McCain-Palin on the economy, healthcare and making sure everyone has the resources to stay healthy, lack of a clear strategy to get us out of Iraq so we don't have to keep losing brave soldiers. Just say your pro-life and you can automatically join the "family values" group.
My father has pastored a church for over 40 years and in my 30 plus years she's taught me that being "pro-life" extends way further than the womb.
I am sure he will do the right thing on election day. put you and all your luggage on a sled and send you back to alaska.
These people are verging on the same intensity of religious fervor and self-rightiousness as we see in hate filled regions around the world.

If God's going to "do the right thing" on election day, then why do you need to even be campaigning so vigorously? Just sit back and save all that donated $$$$, and let him do whatever "the right thing" is.

Sarah Palin says a few words and now we're all being hateful. I don't think Palin actually said that God would give the win to the Republicans, but I'll have to go back and read it a fifth time. 🙂 I just want to vote for the candidate that will ensure that more Americans will learn to read.
My Goodness. God is the God of us all,,,and he IS interveneing. In fact He IS in total control. I wonder if Dobson is at all concerned that John McCain calls himself a Christian yet has said in documented interviews that he is not "born again" and has not been baptized? This seems to be an issue that would be first priority for Dobson and any other "Christian" leader... As for Palin, perhaps she needs to take a look in the mirror and check her relationship with God because much of what has come from her mouth has certainly not been God like...

THis is so frightening. Who is she, is she now the word of GOD? Can't you people see she's dislusionary and dangerous? First of all, doesn't the Constitution call for a separation between church and state? Then, she keeps telling audiances that she will be controling the Senate.
