Palin changes tune on 'feminist' label

In an interview on NBC Nightly News that aired Thursday, host Brian Williams asked Palin: "Governor, are you a feminist?"
"I'm not gonna label myself anything, Brian," she responded. "And I think that's what annoys a lot of Americans, especially in a political campaign, is to start trying to label different parts of America different, different backgrounds, different … I'm not going to put a label on myself. "
The vice presidential nominee said she believes in women's rights and equal rights. Palin went on to say that when she was growing up in Alaska, she "was expected to do the same thing that the guys were doing."
"I'm not going label myself feminist or not," she concluded, "but I do believe that American women can recognize in me an advocate and a friend. And I want to be in the White House for them."
But Palin gave a different answer in September when Katie Couric of CBS News asked her, "Do you consider yourself a feminist?"
"I do," Palin answered. "I'm a feminist who believes in equal rights and I believe that women certainly today have every opportunity that a man has to succeed, and to try to do it all, anyway."
In that sit-down, Palin told Couric she defines a feminist as "someone who believes in equal rights. Someone who would not stand for oppression against women."

first McCain says Obama will say anything to get elected and now Palin, the self-described hockey-mom-maverick-pitbull doesn't think she should be labeling herself or different (pro-american) parts of the country? these republican hypocrites need to get their stories straight. get real.

That's interesting. She's certainly willing to throw every label at Obama quite easily. And as far as labeling different parts of America "different" isn't she also the one who was so happy to be in the "pro America" part of the country? Here's a label that suits her well: hypocrite.

So in other words, Sarah, just like always, you don't know what the Hell you are talking about!
You can't correctly explain what the duties are of Vice President of the United States, the position you're running for, and you can't even explain your own views on issues in the world with any sort of consistency. I know that McCain was trying to appeal to all the women who wanted Hillary Clinton, but this is to the point where it is really sad......

Regarding the McCain supporter that SAYS she was robbed and had the 'B' cut into her face – some reporters need to investigate because the 'B' was cut backwards – like you do when you do it to yourself in a MIRROR! What a scam! I hope they find out the truth and charge that girl with making a false report.
Not only does Sarah Palin not know the job description for the position to which she aspires, she's confused even on her own positions. She becomes a bigger joke every time she is interviewed. This is certainly not someone we should consider to be next in line to be the leader of the free world, and McCain shouldn't be elected because his stunningly bad judgement in this and vicious attacks in this nasty campaign have discredited and disqualified him in the minds of many thinking voters. Obama-Biden....our only choice.

Watching Larry King Live with Michael Moore. Has plumber's for Obama working on the back ground. The two "plumbers" have been working on the same sink for the entire hour. Now I can see why they are Obama supporters. They are probably union members.
