McCain aide: Palin 'going rogue'

ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico (CNN) - With 10 days to go until election day, long brewing tension between Sarah Palin and key aides to John McCain has become so intense, it is spilling out into the public.

Several McCain advisers have suggested to CNN they have become increasingly frustrated with what one aide described as Palin “going rogue” recently, while a Palin associate says she is simply trying to “bust free” of what she believes was a mishandled roll-out that damaged her.

McCain sources point to several incidents where Palin has gone off message, and privately wonder if they were deliberate. For example: labeling robo calls “irritating,” even as the campaign was defending the use of them and telling reporters she disagreed with the campaigns controversial decision to pull out of Michigan.

A second McCain source tells CNN she appears to now be looking out for herself more than the McCain campaign.

The Republican Party tried to use Palin and now she is using them – to build her own base for the future. I do not like Palin and disagree with her values and her tactics. While I do not think she is intelligent, she is certainly crafty. In her position, I'd be trying to do the same – saving my own backside.

You go girl! Keep talking to only the far right and tell them how you really feel. You helped Obama raise $150 million and he is only on track to raise $66 million. We need you to anger the rest of America more!!!

Why did McCain pick someone with so much inexperience. Tim Pawlenty must be rolling his eyes at who McCain picked over him. McCain and his whole campaign: fools. They deserve to lose for this dreadful incompotence.

It is pretty clear to anyone with even the dimmest of intelligence what kind of a person and politician Gov Palin is. What doesnt amaze me is that there are folks out there who think she is a god sent gift to mankind when in fact she is the opposite! Michael Moore was right when he said Barack is running against IGNORANCE not McBush.

They insisted she needed time to get briefed on issues on the national and international stage she was not familiar with and has never dealt with, and on McCain’s long record.

McCain is really insane. He keep taking about Obama not ready in there is not time for on the job training. What are they doing for Palin on the job training. McCain is 72 years and if something happen to McOld Palin will be our next Preident and we don't have time for her to be friefed on issues on the national and international. Obama/Biden 2008

I knew when the Rep. rolled out Mrs. It's All About Me, that they were not going to be able to controll this one, as they have controlled Mr. McSame. So now she is breaking out of the box that they have tried to keep her in... All though she has a lot of air in her head... She is going to need a lot of schooling in econmics, government and legal affairs. I hope she can spear the time in between all the feedings.

  15. Trying to keep up, Is a small town in California Pro or Anti American?

If she wants to protect her political future then she needs to stop attacking everyone that is left of her right wing evangelical platform. She will secure the base of the republican party but she can't win with that. Just ask Huckabee.
As an Obama supporter she has been the best thing in getting him that much closer to the whitehouse! Thanks Sarah!

She has no sound message! And it is obvious how much McCain is regretting picking her...seeing how he accompanies her to all the interviews. They know she cannot deliver a proper message for their campaign. So someone needs to be chaparoning her at all times to be there and speak on her behalf when she makes a mistake!

McCain can't even control his own campaign and he wants to handle our country? McCain's campaign has been poorly managed, another example (as his response during the crisis) that he is NOT the kind of leader we need. Obama and Biden have done a much better job, running an almost flawless and serious campaign! For good judgment and experience, VOTE OBAMA/BIDEN '08!!!

Good for her. The McCain campaign has been ineptly run, and they're handling of her has been amateurish at best. Why should she allow herself and her bright star to be sacrificed by a wavering campaign run by incompetents? She's young, she's got a whole career ahead of her to think about.

And someone need to tell the idiots running the campaign that Palin is not the reason they are behind.

    Dear John McCain,

This is what happens when you choose a running-mate because you met her and got an instant crush on her. Should have vetted her, my friend.

Are you kidding me? This woman is a total nutcase. The GOP needs to dump her ugly b- asap.
Hopefully the Alaska legislature & Courts will get her out of our lives here pretty soon if they go after her on the abuse of power charge & all the state money spent of her kids deal!
