Obama ad: Will you be better off four years from now?

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/10/25/art.obamadefiningmoment.obama.jpg caption="The Obama-Biden campaign will roll out a new ad in key states Sunday."]

(CNN) - Just a day after John McCain's campaign launched a TV ad attacking Barack Obama's readiness to lead in an international crisis, the Illinois senator unveiled a new ad Saturday that puts a new spin on the age old question: Are you better off today than you were four years ago?

The two-minute ad, "Defining Moment," will begin airing in key states on Sunday, according to the Obama campaign.

"At this defining moment in our history, the question is not, 'Are you better off than you were four years ago?' We all know the answer to that," Obama narrates. "The real question is will our country be better off four years from now? How will we lift our economy and restore America's place in the world?"

In order to "build the economy of the future," Obama says there has to be a focus on "urgent national priorities: reducing the cost of health care ... breaking our dependence on foreign oil ... and making sure that every child gets the education they (sic) need to compete."

The McCain campaign has fired back at Obama's new ad. “If Barack Obama is elected President, this may be considered the first in a series of 'defining moments' more commonly called job-killing tax increases," McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds said in a statement.

At a rally in Norfolk, Virginia, Saturday, Obama's No.2 discussed the ad and blasted the McCain campaign's tactics.

"You know how we’re finishing out the campaign? Barack is going up, instead of anything negative, we’re going up and laying out our plan to fix the economy. That’s what we’re running on," Sen. Joe Biden said. "What is the McCain campaign continue to do? They want to do anything but talk about the economy."

I've never been able to understand why a Republican contributor is a 'fat cat' and a Democratic contributor of the same amount of money is a 'public-spirited philanthropist'.

You know, I'm actually better off now then I was 4 and 8 years ago. NOW, I have a House, a nice looking car that runs great and a pretty good job that pays the bills.

In 4 years, IF Obama becomes president, I expect to be jobless, living on the streets or in some Bomb Shelter praying that the Terrorists don't attack. Obama is a Pacifist and wants this Country to be just like Europe with his Socialist ideals. He's afraid to stand up to the bad guys and will turn tail and run when faced with aggression. Obama is a TALKER, not a DO'ER. Obama never has said what he will do with the Troops in Iraq, but he sure does say what he wants to do with the 10 billion we spend every month. So, is he going to stop funding the troops and pull them out day 1 in office? Yeah, that's real smart and show the world what a coward he is. It will be open season on the USA. Welcome to living in fear, cause this is what all you Democrats wanted.

I have family over in Canada. Brian Harper is the same as Bush thus comes the Hilary free trade BS that happened in Ohio. The Canadian government tried to throw this election long ago. And now Harper who is the Canadian Prime Minister is hoping that McCain wins because of how he is on free trade. Canada is in need of change too. Just ask any Canadian. They need their own Obama.

Will we better off four years from now with the same policies that we have had for the last four years – of course not! And as for the balance of power question – isn't that what we had for 6 years under Bush – how come now all of a sudden when it's the Democrats who will be in power, this is a bad thing? First of all, if it doesn't work well, in only two years the congressional power can shift again – so why not take the chance and see where things go – Obama knows he will be under a microscope and he has every motivation to get this right. Let's give him a chance! I mean, who would you rather have dinner with – the McCains or the Obamas? Let's face it, given the state of the country today, if Obama wasn't a Black man, this race would have been over months ago – give me a break!

With our woefully inadequate school system, maybe there are some who don't realize Hawaii is a state in the US. It was a territory until about 1953, well before Obama's birth. I remember the celebration and the new flag being raised at school with one more star, does anyone remember the 49 star flag, it did not last long as Alaska was admitted a few months latter as the 50th state.

McCain on the other hand was born in Panama another sovereign nation, in a military hospital at a time when this birth, outside of USA, did prevent him from the presidency. They changed the rule, to include off shore military hospitals in the US for this purpose, more lately when the military tired of transporting pregnant wives home for delivery so their probable "sons" would remain qualified to be president. McCain himself probably voted for this change in the Senate.

I thought we live in an enlightened world where facts and issues are meant to be what politcs should be about and not politics of hate and racism. Am I to believe white ladies are stupid to fall in love with blacks? and their children abomination to the world?

The world is now a better place to live by every single being and the opportunity that it offers.

Tainopower, is your real name Ashley Todd?

Are you just another mentally-ill McCain supporter who would do or say anything to smear Obama?

I won't suggest you do research because you are clearly beyond reason or rational thought. I will suggest you look into getting psychological evaluation.

Maybe you should be worried about McCain's birth certificate since he was born in Panama. Not exactly part of the 50 states. He could have duel citizenship for all we know, will he outsource American jobs to the country of his birth? Somone of your obviously low IQ Taino should worry. Why are you McCain supporters such lying psychos?
