Obama ad: Will you be better off four years from now?

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/10/25/art.obamadefiningmoment.obama.jpg caption="The Obama-Biden campaign will roll out a new ad in key states Sunday."]

(CNN) - Just a day after John McCain's campaign launched a TV ad attacking Barack Obama's readiness to lead in an international crisis, the Illinois senator unveiled a new ad Saturday that puts a new spin on the age old question: Are you better off today than you were four years ago?

The two-minute ad, "Defining Moment," will begin airing in key states on Sunday, according to the Obama campaign.

"At this defining moment in our history, the question is not, 'Are you better off than you were four years ago?' We all know the answer to that," Obama narrates. "The real question is will our country be better off four years from now? How will we lift our economy and restore America's place in the world?"

In order to "build the economy of the future," Obama says there has to be a focus on "urgent national priorities: reducing the cost of health care ... breaking our dependence on foreign oil ... and making sure that every child gets the education they (sic) need to compete."

The McCain campaign has fired back at Obama's new ad. “If Barack Obama is elected President, this may be considered the first in a series of 'defining moments' more commonly called job-killing tax increases," McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds said in a statement.

At a rally in Norfolk, Virginia, Saturday, Obama's No.2 discussed the ad and blasted the McCain campaign's tactics.

"You know how we’re finishing out the campaign? Barack is going up, instead of anything negative, we’re going up and laying out our plan to fix the economy. That’s what we’re running on," Sen. Joe Biden said. "What is the McCain campaign continue to do? They want to do anything but talk about the economy."

A Democratic Senate with Harry Reid ; A house of Representative by Speaker Pelosi and a Democratic President Obama will do away tih the BALANCE OF POWER in the Federal Government and bodes danger to our National well being and our constitutional rights.
one party control of the entire Federal Government will subject Americans to have almost no power to object, oppose ,complain
about abuses of such concentation of power in one party.
Our Constitution was designed by Patriotic, Intelligent and selfless
Statemen to keep the balance of power in the Federal government
precisely to prevent Corruption and abue of power.

Yeah, it does corrupt absolutely, if you're a REPUBLICAN. Guess we all got to see that with the greedy, arrogant, Rethugs when they controlled all three houses of Congress and ran wild with our money. We have never seen corruption and greed like that in a Democratic-controlled Congress. Until all three houses are controlled by Dems, you don't know what will happen. If even ONE house is controlled by Resluglicans, there will be gridlock and nothing will get done just like what is occurring now. There needs to be one party controlling it all this cycle so we can get our country back on track. Republicans always foul up and make a mess of our money and country and Democrats always seem to have to come in and clean up after those greedy maggots.

This is easily one of the most presidential adverts that has been aired for a long time. It is truly refreshing to hear Senator Barack Obama outlining his plans for fixing the problems. in contrast, the GOP, McSenile & Pailing continue to address Obama's skin color and other immaterial subjects that have absolutely nothing to do with running a country.

Perhaps the swearing-in date should be brought forward to Nov. 5, 2008.

the vision that obama has for the unted states requires that we "change" our form of governemnt from a democratic one to a socialist one and that we forgo all of our rights to the government so that the government can care for us all. with nancy and harrys help, it will happen...and there is nOTHING that anyone or any court can do about it. get used to living poor because we all will be soon enough and say goodbyr to ALL business because they will all go overseas, say goodbye to feeling safe because our military will be weak and will not go to wars to defend us. we will all live in government housing, eating govt rations, working for the ggovernement and letting the governement take it all away as soon as we get it.

The republicans trying to fix the election by using the courts.

I guess they just can't win by getting votes.

If everyone can stand up for change and put Obama/Biden in the White House we will see the world as a brighter future. If Bush had good sense he would have voted for Obama because McCain/Palin has bashed him so bad that he needed to teach them a lesson and vote Obama. Wouldn't it be a dm shame for McCain if Bush cast his vote for Obama instead of McCain. Another Republican voting Obama.

Republicans, why don't you hear ads with this clear substance and thoughtful, respectful tone coming from your candidates? Your candidates snipe at other people like high schoolers. If Barack Obama was the kind of man who stooped to mudslinging, there is plenty he could sling at both of you. Obama doesn't sneer at you, he doesn't talk down to people, he doesn't communicate on a 3rd-grade level like W has done for 8 years. Our former allies around the world will stand with us once again when we elect a true leader, a man of high character and wisdom, Barack Obama.

How is it that Obama can run illegally. He is deffently not a born U.S. citizen. That is the main thing running for President. I believe this race has been illegal from the begining ,vote frauds and all.I have read the federal laws and you deffently have to be born a U.S. citizen to run. Obama was born in Kenya and adopted Indoniesia.Does this country change the contitution and federal laws for this certain canidate. This is illegal as hell.iF this is the case a terroist could come over here in run.Thats an example. I think Obama should be suspened and HRC should be legally the nominee. This is all wrong.

Four years from now? Not if Obama is elected... I'm pretty sure I'll be worse off financially and since we'll be a Communist country at that time, my human rights will be violated daily.

The Obama "Birth Flap" was not of Berg's making. It began in June when National Review's Jim Geraghty raised the question and asked the Obama Campaign to release a copy of his birth certificate in order to prove that he actually was born in the United States. (Reports had previously surfaced claiming that Obama's Kenyan grandmother, Sarah Hussein Obama, told reporters that Obama was not born in Hawaii, but in Kenya. She also reportedly told reporters that when her son, Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. returned to Kenya he was accompanied by his pregnant white wife who was close to term.)

Obama: Where is your TRUE birth certificate?

The challenges that await Obama are mind boggling. But my wife and I along with millions of Americans are confident that he will be up to the job. I never believed that in my lifetime I would be able to be a part of what we pray will be a history making moment – the election of Barack Obama. What pains me is the bad rap we older voters are getting from J.M. who is four days older than me. At least I still know a fraud when I see one! Go Barack! Now get out there and vote. Let's not give this one away.

I guess what Colin Powell said will prove to be absolutely right. Electing Mr. Obama will not only eletrify America but it will sure electrify the world.

I think that the very fact that America is ready to elect a black guy to be the preisdent is such an achievement that can be compare to invention of a phone or antibitics only to the society as a whole. It really gives people more freedom when they don't bother about the race and do think about real issues. I would love to make a donation to Mr. Obama campaing. Alas I am russian and live in Moscow.

    From Jimmy:

"one party control of the entire Federal Government will subject Americans to have almost no power to object, oppose ,complain

Jimmy, then why are they being voted for by the very same people that you're suggesting should feel such a dread?

People are tired of the Republicans, they screwed up. And in US there is mainly a two party system. To figure out what's gonna happen is as easy as to do 1+1...
