[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/10/27/art.stevens.ap.jpg caption="Stevens has been found guilty on all counts."]WASHINGTON (CNN) - A jury Monday found U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens of Alaska guilty on all seven counts of making false statements on Senate disclosure forms.

Stevens had been charged with failing to disclose hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of gifts and work on his house in Alaska.

The 84-year-old senator is locked in a tight race for re-election, hoping to retain the seat he has held since 1968.

Sentencing is set for January 26.

Well, all the liberal lib-tards will be all over this one, claiming the high ground, as if their party isn't the main leader in corruption (it is). I guess CNN won't be giving us any details of the ACORN investigations or how big of a crime they might be commiting. Of course not, because that would hurt Obama's chances of winning. Instead, they'll do light weight pieces on ACORN, but I'm sure CNN and other liberals will continue to hammer the GOP about Palin's wardrobe or Cindy McCain's prescription drug abuse. Nevermind Obama's radical ties or unprecedented ultra liberalism. If some GOP nominee were to run for President and be the most conservative on record ever, it would be front page negative news every chance CNN and the NY Times could muster. Journalism is dead.

  8. WHAT'S GOING ON IN ALASKA??

First Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin was found guilty of abusing her power as governor and of violating State ethics laws, and now Alaskan State Senator Ted Stevens is found guilty of making false statements?? What the hells going on up in Alaska? Someone needs to get up there and clean up the mess Palin and Steven's have created. No more crooked politicians, please!!

As a former Alaskan, I say One Down, One to Go (troopergate, no-bid pipeline, per diem irregularities, state paying for children in $700/night hotels, possiblility of kick-back-built free home in Wasilla)

Now two things need to happen immediately:

    (1) The Senate Ethics Committee and Senate as a whole needs to make him stand in the well of the Senate to be censured in public, stripped of his Senate seat and kicked out publically. No RESIGNATION or RETIREMENT - ONLY censure and removal from the Senate.

    (2) Next, he should withdraw his re-election bid and forfeit it immediately.

If not, then the Senate and the Senator are disgusting examples of what's wrong with this government!!!!!

  14. You're Next Sarah?

Well, they convicted him finally. Now, how about "Troopergate", the "Per Diems", charging the State of Alaska for family travel and all the rest of the Palin questions out there. The monetary about is about $100,000 more than the RNC paid for Palin's wardrobe, but it's the lying and deception that hung Stevens. Opening for the GOP on his seat? Count on it!

  22. Stevens Trial Model for Obama Impeachment

Obama will probably be impeached sometime in 2009 as he fails to end the Depression and Americans are selling apples on street corners.

The Stevens trial will be a good model for impeaching Obama.

And Joe Who? will be President. Can't wait.

I'd like to apply now for the moving van contract to move Obama out of the White House next year.
