Palin calls for Stevens to resign

[cnn-photo-caption image= http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/2008/images/10/27/art.palin.10.27.jpg caption="Palin says Stevens should step aside."](CNN) - Sarah Palin said Tuesday Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens should resign his Senate seat, in a statement released hours after John McCain made a similar declaration.

The comments come a day after Palin would not say what she thought the best course of action for the recently convicted senator should be.

"After being found guilty on seven felony counts, I had hoped Senator Stevens would take the opportunity to do the statesman-like thing and erase the cloud that is covering his Senate seat," she said in the statement. "He has not done so. Alaskans are grateful for his decades of public service but the time has come for him to step aside. Even if elected on Tuesday, Senator Stevens should step aside to allow a special election to give Alaskans a real choice of who will serve them in Congress."

Yeah, sure. If Sarah told Stevens to hang in there, the lunatic left would bash her for condoning corruption. Lying hypocrites.

Obama and his sickening supporters are going to get what's coming to them very , very soon. When things don't go well, they will do what Democrats/liberals always do– they'll turn on each other with the sort of hatred only a group of crazy people can muster. It won't be long.

Isn't she the same person who said yesterday "It is a sad day for the Stevens family, and a sad day for Alaska?" Basically, she felt sorry for him, since he was her mentor. Alaska, home of the corrupt Republican gang.

My eyes are rolling...give me a break. Ok you self righteous dimwit, what's next on your script? Read carefully now...don't veer off in a direction that wasn't written for you. What's McCain going to say next, Obama runs over little children in the street and laughs.

The big politicians in Alaska are mired in scandals. They all should resign. The people of Alaska are not going to elect a convict any how.

The repubs are doomed next week Nov 4th.

    What?

Sarah Palin wants Stevenson to resign? The Palin that abused her powers while in office? That is a joke, just like her clothes that she could have just said, 'If the clothes did not come from Walmart, then I am not going to wear them'.

Palin wants to be a VP even if she does not know what the job entails.

Scott.. you make a good point. Though I don't believe McCain was at fault for the accident on his ship.. I do find it odd that his military records are sealed from the public. His whole claim to experience is based off his record in the military.. yet his record in the military is concealed from everyone. Shouldn't this be an issue?

It is quite obvious that someone else wrote her statement, since it was so VERY grammatically correct and eloquently stated. I don't believe I've ever heard or read a single comprehensive, complete sentence that were actually her own words. It drives me insane when people in high positions of responsibility do not know how to speak the English language correctly. Thank God for speech writers.
