Voters receiving misleading robo calls in Ohio

(CNN) – On the eve of Election Day, amid overwhelming public interest in the presidential race, some voters are being confronted with a sea of election-related misinformation.

Sheila Robinson, a resident of Dayton, Ohio, tells CNN that she received a robo call at her home Monday. The call informed her that Republicans would be voting on November 4 in this year’s general election, and Democrats would be voting on November 5.

That information is incorrect. The Ohio Secretary of State’s Web site is clear: Everyone in Ohio votes Tuesday, November 4.

Laura Jordan of the Montgomery County, Ohio Board of Elections, says she has not received reports of any calls like the one Robinson received. But Jordan also tells CNN that she has received reports of misleading automated calls giving voters incorrect information about the location of their polling places. Voters who call the county board reporting these types of calls are told the correct location for their polling place, according to Jordan.

CNN will be tracking voter problems through Election Day. If you have a problem or see a problem, call the CNN Voter Hotline at 877-462-6608. See what issues are a concern in each state by clicking on the interactive Hotline map at

Why is it that as private citizens and workers that we are held to rules and standards of conduct, the violation of which lands us in jail or out of work, yet if you're in politics, it gets you elected? The Republicans (especially) love to talk the high road and take the low road: Rove, Bush, Stevens, and now McCain. And don't get me started on Palin!

We were robbed in 2000 and 2004. I know I speak for many Americans by saying if the election is fraudulent in any way, We prepared to march on Washington and camp out. This will not and must not happen again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every American should know the date that he or she is voting for any election especially Presidential Election. Any one who does not have that engrained in their cerebellum does not have any business voting. YOU MUST BE ILLEGAL ALIEN. EVEN THEY KNOW WHAT DAY IT IS.

So all of you stop being childish and crying victim and shot up and go out and vote.

Wow, are you serious? That's, like, a stereotypically dirty tactic. I hope they don't get away with it.

This is NOT FAIR!!! We need to stand up and fight back. It starts with getting Barak in office...BUT....if the repubs do end up stealing the election somehow, then we need to stand up and start a revolution because this is unacceptable!

Americans just sit back and do nothing about these things. NOT THIS TIME.

In other countries the government is affraid of the America...we are affraid of the government...or just to lazy to do anything about it ourselves.

Who will stand with me...who will fight with me? If you are interested in taking a stand then email me.

    my email address is

We can no longer let this go on. WE MUST FIGHT!

The plan all along has been to get the election close enough to steal. We and they know they can do it. They have done it before. It is a disgrace and ALL REPUBLICANS should be ashamed.

This sort of scummy tactic has been backfiring this year for McCain, but the Republicans aren't bright enough to quit doing it. McCain was about even with Obama in the polls before his campaign dove into the gutter and resorted to attempts to slime Obama. They are about to get their just deserts!

Just for the recrod, Democrats are the smarter of the two parties, as is evidenced by what the Republicans think will fool people.

I have to agree with the reader that their should be criminal charges (prosecution). I cannot believe that anyone would stoop to this level. The human side of me would like to believe that John McCain and the Republican party would never stoop to this level, but I truly wonder.

I consider myself a moderate traditionally leaning towards the GOP, but I have voted Democrat the last 3 election and have already sent my absentee ballot (Obama/Biden '08)

I think I should just register as a Democrat....the Republican party is corrupt and their needs to be a comprehensive investigation.

Come on Ohio Democrats and Independents!! You know for sure that there is ONLY one election day... and that is NOVEMBER 4th. It is GOP trick to try to win the state; so as Democrat and Independent, just GO OUT TO VOTE AND MAKE HISTORY ON YOUR ELECTION DAY, 4th NOVEMBER.

I guess McCain really IS Bush! Just a watered down version. at least Bush was successful in stealing an election, McCain can't even manage that.

As far as I'm concerned, if Republicans themselves think they can only win by cheating, it's time to end the party. Stick a fork in them, they're done!

You all you to check out a certain interview 60 minutes did this past Sunday Nov 2nd. It would explain, and for others, provide the proof, this display of cornered animal campaigning and inciteful hate mongering fear and smear tactics the entire world is witnessing from Republicans. Besides I think some countries around the world would love a little straight talk right about now.

With campaign tactics like these, it is no wonder the republican party is losing ground among the voters, and these are now more registered democrats than republicans in our great nation.

This time four years ago In St. Paul MN as I went door to door to give people info on where their voting place was, several reported that that morning they had received a phone call telling them to go to a different polling place. Let's hope that the votes are a landslide (in Obama's favor of course) so that the "hanging chad effect" will be impotent. Get up, get out, VOTE, and take someone with you who needs help getting there. Our privilege, our right, and our duty to each other, our country, and to the world. Citizenship without borders.

The GOP has become a sick and lost cause. Trying desperately to try anything to keep from losing. They think liberals are unpatriotic. Before they say anything they should look in a mirror...they just might see the face of unpatriotic behavior right before their very own eyes! We know who they are...scum!
