McCain's firewall washed away

(CNN) - Barack Obama's victory in Pennsylvania - big enough that CNN could call it early, without waiting for many votes to be counted - is a crushing defeat for John McCain.

The Republicans threw everything they could into winning there, even outspending the Democrats for a short time. That's because they thought that Obama was likely to pick up enough red states to go over the top; Pennsylvania was the one blue state that the GOP thought it could take.

The Republican firewall has now been washed away - and victory is almost within the grasp of Obama. Indeed, there are growing signs this could be a big, big night for Obama. Let's wait and see.

What cost McCain this election was his schizophrenic campaign, his VP pick, the negative talk, and $700Billion to Wall Street supported and initiated by the GOP poster boys Bush and Paulson. Conservatives can say Obama is a socialist but I would look at your leaders before pointing fingers.

Those of you complaining that Obama becoming President is going to destroy this country? I don't really think it can get any worse after the Repubs did thier work.. It is already so deep in the abyss this Country, that it is going to take a lot of sacrifice and sweat to dig us out,and only Obama can do that.....

I wish I were standing, cheering, and celebrating in Grant Park too.

Good-bye, good luck, and good riddance Sarah Palin. Go home and tend to your children, especially your baby son.

There sure are some sore losers blogging here tonight, and their vocabulary is as vulgar as their ignorance is blatant. Try losing with a shred of dignity and graciousness. The hateful negativity being spewed by republicans is a huge reason McCain is losing the election. That, and the ill-fated choice of the seriously unqualified Palin.

President elect Obama.... I'm proud to call him President
