Exit Polls: Latino voters tip balance
(CNN) - According to exit poll results released thus far, Latino voters voted for Barack Obama over John McCain by a more than a 2-1 margin nationally: 66 percent to 31 percent. The proportion voting for the Democratic candidate is up sharply from 2004, when 55 percent of Latino voters supported John Kerry and 44 percent voted for President Bush.
Latinos are responsible for Obama's victory in New Mexico and contributed strongly to his margins in Nevada and Colorado. In New Mexico, Latinos constituted 41 percent of the electorate and voted for Obama by a 69 percent to 30 percent margin; white voters in New Mexico supported McCain 56 percent to 42 percent.
In Colorado, Latinos comprised 13% of the electorate and broke for Obama 64% to 34% while white voters split evenly. In Nevada, Latinos comprised 16 percent of the electorate and supported Obama 78 percent to 20 percent. Fifty-one percent of Nevada's white voters went for McCain.

I never liked mexicans because I felt that most of them did not like blacks but I'm sorry for that and I do appreciate all the Mexicans and Latinos who voted for Obama. He would not have made it with out you all.

Just makes me wonder just how many of those Latinos were legally in this country. I would bet then more then half are illegal and should not have even been able to vote. That could have made a big difference in those states Obama won???
I think Latino voters are the best gauge of reality. They vote their pocketbook. They're not voting race and they're not voting demagoguery as offered by Sara Palin and Rush Limbaugh.
It's a travesty that so many illegal aliens are being allowed to vote in US elections. 🙁
Thanks be to our Latino friends. This night is a new beginning to all Americans. President Obama will provide leadership to our country and to the world. Tonight history was made and I and so grateful to have contribute a small part to that history. Even though President Obama did not win Texas he is now President to all Americans. President elect Obama should at the very least call Ron Paul
and Ralph Nader in order to build a root system in Washington.
That doesn't surprise me. Race was a huge factor in this election, whether people admit it or not. The good news is, it helped Obama rather than hurt him.

McCain should look hard at his inexcusable choice of Sarah Palin. Many of us could have given McCain a vote – right up until he chose a cynical, nasty, unquaified, evil personality as his partner.
