Gibbs likely to be press secretary

A high level source involved in the Obama transition team tells CNN Senior Political Correspondent Candy Crowley that as of this morning the offer to Gibbs of the Press Secretary's position has been discussed but that the job has not been formally offered yet.
CNN's Jessica Yellin is also hearing a similar message from another Obama transition source.
A very close friend of Gibb's on Capitol Hill tells CNN Chief National Correspondent John King that he's been told the job is a done deal and will be announced later today.
Gibbs steered the Obama Campaign's communications. He served as Communications Director in Obama's Senate office prior to joining the presidential campaign early last year, and he was a major player in the freshman senator's rise in the public eye.
Wonderful....I've watched him throughout this campaign season, how he handles the media, answering questions and always staying on point.......he is a great choice.
This guy is awesome. I hope Sean Hannity comes to the Press Conferences now!
This is great because Mr. Gibbs is not good at lying so the team will have to run in properly.
Oh this guy more than deserves the job, he is the only person I have seen, who had the balls to shut FIX News down.
This morning I listened to NPR National Public Radio, Obama supporters have high expectations from him: they said they are waiting for tax cuts, lower tuitions, higher income...It sounds they are not very reasonable. I am Obama supporter too, but I believe Obama will try very hard to make America a better country for everybody, but he does not have any magic, we the people have to work harder to help him and also help ourselves, please don't wait and do nothing then expect miracles happen.

Interesting, considering the only people picked so far are members of the "Transition Team", you know, the folks who dig into the the mess the current administration has built, and try to triage the damage and get a handle on the priorities. No cabinet or other adminstration positions have been chosen.
As for the "road to socialism" tearing this country apart, I don't think you need to worry, Bush's unbridled capitalistic socialism (i.e. take from the poor and give to the rich) has already torn this country into little pieces.

It's going to be fun to hear all the racists out there blabber about Obama appointing an all minority cabinet and other such nonsense, then watch Obama make responsible choices, just like he did during his entire campaign, based entirely on the merit of the people he appoints. Some people never learn because they refuse to look at the evidence. Think it thru: the reason they've used fear all these years is because they didn't want to be the only ones scared.

Robert Gibbs is honest and has the perfect temperament to be Press Secretary. He has been the communicator for the Campaign all these long months and extremely loyal to the President-Elect Barack Obama.
He's a 'Teddy Bear' but also has proven he can be TOUGH!
When Hillary lost the primary, it took me a while to get over it. I wasn't ready to support Obama right away. After I got over the sting and started listening to what he had to say, I really liked what I heard. I suspect rational McCain supporters will take a little time to recover and then judge Obama on his performance. Hopefully we'll all be very impressed.
