(CNN) - Barack Obama launched the official government Web site for the presidential transition on Thursday, giving it a look and feel that suggests the new president will utilize the Internet to a much greater degree than his predecessor.
The site is a slightly more formal-looking incarnation of Obama’s campaign web site that features a blue-shaded presidential seal and a countdown clock to the Inauguration on January 20. There are biographies not only of Obama and Joe Biden, but also the directors of his transition team: John Podesta, Valerie Jarrett and Pete Rouse. The web site outlines Obama’s policy agenda, on issues from Iraq to social security to urban policy.
While the site lacks the innovative community organizing tools that helped propel the Illinois senator to the presidency, one section of the site does ask for user-generated content, asking Americans to submit stories about “what this campaign and this election means to you” and “where President-Elect Obama should lead this country.”
There is a transition blog, which at the moment only features a video of Obama’s Tuesday victory speech in Chicago’s Grant Park.
One link on the site is sure to get a flood of clicks: the “Jobs” section.
“All staff appointments chosen for this administration will be committed to fulfilling Obama’s campaign promises, to rebuilding our government, and to serving the American people again,” the site says.

Get ready for election 2012 no republican will waste money to challenge Obama when he is done with our country in fact Obama will win all 50 states.
The website is
http://www.change.gov
It is certainly great to see a 21st century president with 21st century skills!
FROM THE ONCE FAMOUS RAPPER MC HAMMER:
'THEY CAN'T TOUCH THIS"
GO OBAMA THEY CAN'T TOUCH YOU!
change.gov
BETCHA' IS GONE BACK HOME TO ALASKA, ALSO!
What an amazing person he is, totally in tune with the 21st century. He said his government would be transparent and he's already beginning to make that possible.
I especially like the part of the site where he wants the american people to give their thoughts on which direction he should lead the country in. No other President has ever asked us directly for our thoughts. This only reinforces for me the reason I voted for him.
I'm sure, though, he'll get lots of hate directed at him on his site from the bloggers that still believe all the lies the McCain campaign said. Hopefully, he will realize these are the uneducated people who don't really care about our country, just their own personal agendas.
What a sad situation, we have gotten ourselves into. It's sad to think how many stupid people we have in this country. All I can say to the people who voted for obama, get ready to have smaller paychecks. When your taxes get raised so you can pay more for the people on welfare (mostly blacks and illegal mexicans). obama better make good on all of the promises he's made. Or he's going to look pretty bad.....I guess we will have to see! God help the next four years..it's going to be bumpy.
Hi CNN,
Is it possible to recall or remove a Judge or lawyer from practicing Law, when they try to go against the people of the land decisions for amendments & measures that they voted for, like Prop. 8, in California, in which now there are lawsuits being filed against the decision of the People ?
And I consider myself a democrat, if that mean anything.
Who was talking about being "READY FROM DAY ONE"?
This guy is!
Help what is the web address please some give it.
Thanks
Mr. President (Elect) Obama, I hope you continue to keep us in the loop just like this. Enjoy your visit to the White House on Monday.
Great site! It doesn't do a thing!
Typical political blather: over-promise and under-deliver.
From the picture, it looks like the site is "Change.gov"

My husband and I have been praying for a long time that God (who is color-blind) would send us a true Statesman, a man of honor and astounding intelligence, to run our country. My prayers were answered election night. Welcome, President Obama!
