Gore won't serve in an Obama White House

The former vice president, winner of the Nobel prize for his environmental education efforts, had been considered a likely candidate for the post of "climate czar."
"Former Vice President Gore does not intend to seek or accept any formal position in government," Gore spokeswoman Kalee Kreider told the Washington Times. "He feels very strong right now that the best thing for him to do is to build support for the bold changes that we have to make to solve the climate crisis."

Let's see . . . Oscar winner, Nobel laureate, board member on countless organizations, global mover-and-shaker. Yep, that defines "obscurity" for me, you betcha.
Just to use Palin and Gore in the same sentence suggests a bit of disconnection with reality.
I do agree she should fade away - but only if the "spontaneously combust" option is categorically off the table.
Obama will have plenty of other choices so Gore can continue promoting his work and no doubt create a better legacy for himself. I am sure he will provide sufficient support to the Obama administration.
Maybe he didn't want to fill out the 63-page questionaire required for all the Messiah's applicants. Is Lord Obama going to answer all those questions about himself? Why does he care whether his employees own a gun? (Question #59)

He is not coming back but the rest of the Clinton administration is, we should have just elected Hillary.

Can you blame him. We had our chance and George Bush 43 stole it from us. So he went on to become a noble prize winner and a millionaire. Why give all that up, even temporarily, when we as a country didn't put forth the effort to make him President. I feel you Al; keep on movin.
Oh and by the way; without his influence and vision the internet would not have come into being for another 15 to 20 years if ever. Research the history before you believe the republican slim machine. He didn't invent it but the was one of the major forces in developing the idea into global acceptance.

That's fine. President-elect Obama still has plenty of brilliant people to choose from. Why so many bitter comments from Obama supporters? Come on now, let's not lower ourselves into the GOP-gutter! Gore has his crusade on climate change, that's important as well.

Mr. Gore is probably satisfied with being a Nobel Peace Prize winner, bestselling author, activist, and political icon. He has been serving his country all of his adult life. He doesn't have to be in Washington to do so.

Well, I don't like Gore. He is presenting the whole climate thing a little overdone.
Yes, the climate is changing, but it hasn't been fully proven that humans are the primary cause.
Something has to be done. But what he is proposing would ruin the world economy.
Well Barack, you made my family and myself very proud. But between all the pride we feel we are now sceptical. Like we are with everybody. I hope in the deapest of my heart you will succeed. And looking at your campaign I know you will. But don't get cocky now. Get the republicans involved. And make your promises come true.
I think he should be Palin's tutor and mentor on environmental issues. She could use some of his knowledge and expertise!

Al Gore had his chance, and the American people voted him president. But the Electoral College went the other way.
I can't blame him for staying in the private sector. But I'd imagine a midterm replacement (or even second term, should Obama run and be reelected, replacement) would be much more likely.
Good move! Obama needs a fresh start with new and energetic people.
Gore is the past and Obama is our future.

Isn't it great fun watching the Republicans implode. I am sick of the Palin coverage but overjoyed at the prospect of Palin being the the one to "progess" the RNC. Yes, Sarah some idiots do use progress as a verb. May she live a very long life.
Two corrections for the uneducated –
1. the term Drug Czar was used in 1982 – that under Ronald Reagan – to describe the new office cabinet level office for the person in charge of US drug policy. Does that make Ronald Reagan a communist (I know he was the only president to ever be the head of a labor union).
2. it was the Communists who fook over after the Bolsheviks overthrew the Czars of Russia. Are you suggesting the Communists were good guys because they replaced the bad-guy Czars?
