Hillary Clinton's name mentioned as possible Secretary of State

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption=" Clinton and Obama campaigned together this fall."] (CNN) - Two sources close to the Obama transition team tell CNN that Senator Hillary Clinton’s name has been mentioned as a possible candidate for Secretary of State.

One source close to Hillary Clinton tells CNN that as of early yesterday, Senator Clinton had not been contacted by the transition team about a possible cabinet appointment. This same source tells CNN that Senator Clinton would not necessarily dismiss such an offer.

A spokesman for Hillary Clinton, Philippe Reines, tells CNN “Any speculation about cabinet or other administration appointments is really for President-Elect Obama's transition team to address.”

On Monday night, while walking into an awards ceremony in New York, Senator Clinton was asked if she would consider taking a post in the Obama administration. She replied, "I am happy being a Senator from New York, I love this state and this city. I am looking at the long list of things I have to catch up on and do. But I want to be a good partner and I want to do everything I can to make sure his agenda is going to be successful."

I think she would be a good choice. Hillary knows all of the foreign deplomats, and understands foreign policy well. As far as what she said and did towards Barack Obama while they were campaigning, that's just it, "it was a campaign".

I have to admit she would be better than Kerry.
Can we do something about Joe Biden though?

There are several others, both Republican and Democrat, who would be a better choice than Senator Clinton. Senator Clinton deserves respect; she is intelligent and articulate. She is has long and bright future in the Senate. But Secretary of State?! The choice smacks of a quid pro quo.

Joe Biden would be a better choice; but he's the V.P. I don't think six years in the Senate and eight years as first lady are sufficient.

Obama has said he wanted Republicans in his cabinet. State would be a possibility– people like Chuck Hagel, Robert Zoellick, Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins. Democrats to consider include Bill Richardson and possibly Wesley Clark– a Rhodes Scholar and former Allied Commander of NATO

This country should have listened to Ron Paul, he would have been perfect for the job as President of the USA. He would have provided better sense in fixing things..

But did you listen ?? No... So reap the woes ahead..

As for Clinton for this possible post eh NO.

John Kerry would be the best Secretary of State. He has all the foreign knowledge, foreign policy experience, speaks various languages and is a DIPLOMAT. Don't forget Hillary Clinton was prepared to go to war over Iran without any diplomatic overtures and she is a very very big Israel supporter. You need someone who sees both sides of the fence for this particular job. Please don't forget, Mr. Obama would not be where he is today if it wasn't for Mr. Kerry.
