Palin interview causes stir

(CNN) - It’s the ultimate holiday photo-op for any governor: the yearly pardoning of a turkey to spare it from demise days before Thanksgiving.
But former Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin is causing a stir for an interview she gave after pardoning an Alaska turkey Thursday, during which one bird was being slaughtered in the background.
Palin appeared unaware of what was going on directly behind her, though she did seem to take a glance at the unfortunate event at one particular point during the interview.
"It's nice to support a local business and just participate in something that isn't so heavy handed politics that invites criticism," Palin said during the interview. "Certainly will probably invite criticism for even doing this too, but at least it was fun."
"I am always in charge of the turkey so I am where I need to be today to prepare for that," she also said.

Even if the backdrop wasn't impossibly ironic given the reason for her visit, does there exist a worse background image for any sort of interview than turkeys being slaughtered? Maybe someone clubbing baby seals?

The reason this is news is it illustrates Governor Palin's basic lack of Politics. Image is so very important in Politics and the fact that she would stand with her back towards a slaughterhouse shows that she lacks that subtle little voice that nags at talented Politicians.
Also, the slaughter of Turkeys is disgusting and making light of the fact that they die for us to have a snack is so insensitive and disturbing.
Thank God! she did not get elected. The turkey squeling that she enjoyed is hillarious. Next! what.

i've got to the point of not even reading anything as to Palin...but this was irresistable. She is clueless. she needs to learn how to speak properly and at least TRY to sound educated.
OK, the turkey slaughter is disgusting, but I'm still amazed that I can't quite decipher what she saying. Wow! She really does talk like this all of the time, and she winked again! Public officials shouldn't wink (especially when an animal is getting slaughtered right behind them).

It is my understanding she was advised where this interview would take place and had no issue with the scene behind her.
