To Timothy: Your ignorance is showing through. American split its throat when it elected George W. Bush twice. First of all, we have a current president is is the real insult to this Country. An administration who has refused to act like leaders throughout this whole economic crisis. An administration who lied to the American people and started a war in Iraq that was not necessary, then an administration who lied to the American people yet again on a huge economic bail-out that has ONLY benefited wall street and has done nothing, nada for main street. Somebody has got to step up and be a leader in a time such as this. If President-Elect Obama sat on the side lines, I guess you would have something to say about that too. President-Elect Obama is doing everything humanly possible to give confidence back to the American people. You know as well as the rest of the country and world that Obama has been good for this country and will continue to be a force to be reckoned with. I would imagine that you are still a sore loser and never supported Obama in the first place, but you need to grow up and get a better understanding of just how bad shape this country is in and we can thank the Bush Administration for most of it.

Lord, please bless the intellectually less fortunate souls that believe in trickle down economics. Grant them enough intelligence to see through the fear tactics of those that seek to use them for their own gain. Please allow them to see that you cannot blame Clinton for the eight years after his presidency (Future) while blaming the Democratic Congress for our current situation (Present) and Obama for the two months prior to his Presidency (Past). Please show them that people with different colors on their skin are every bit as good if not better than themselves. Grant them the humility to realize that they have no right to project their own flawed morals upon others that seek to share their lives together in peace and tolerance. Show them that you cannot drill for more oil and protect our planet at the same time. Lord, please raise the price of gas continuously until we finally find something else. Please teach them how to spell so they don't look so dumb when they try to respond to this.

Please, Timothy, share your skewed version of the "truth" with all of us...

...actually, don't bother, I'm sure you get it from Hannity and Limbaugh, so what you see as "truth" is really just, in essecense, blindness to reality....

    2 Thessalonians 2:9

3 Let not any one deceive you in any manner, because it will not be unless the apostasy have first come, and the man of sin have been revealed, the son of perdition; 4 who opposes and exalts himself on high against all called God, or object of veneration; so that he himself sits down in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5 Do ye not remember that, being yet with you, I said these things to you? 6 And now ye know that which restrains, that he should be revealed in his own time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness already works; only there is he who restrains now until he be gone, 8 and then the lawless one shall be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus shall consume with the breath of his mouth, and shall annul by the appearing of his coming; 9 whose coming is according to the working of Satan in all power and signs and wonders of falsehood, 10 and in all deceit of unrighteousness to them that perish, because they have not received the love of the truth that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God sends to them a working of error, that they should believe what is false, 12 that all might be judged who have not believed the truth, but have found pleasure in unrighteousness

The conservative right which is so self righteous should be careful what it says. They are the ones who put us in this economic mess with profligate spending. Human rights violations including the Geneva convention and Guantanamo will take sometime to erase. Obama is on the right track. Yes it is the democrats turn and we shouldn't listen to the confused neo-cons. Go Obama go.

What planet are you from? The President Elect has done more to calm and give confidence to the markets world wide than the sitting President and his cabinet have, and he's still 2 months from taking office!
This is going to be a very difficult time for many in this country and around the world. We are going to need to pull together as we haven't in generations. There will be a time in the near future when we will be asked to tighten our belt as individuals and as a nation. I hope we can all see the need and pitch in.
Give the President Elect a chance. Get behind the country and the office, if not the man. Be an American.

I am so excited and impressed with President Elect Obama. He has shown proven leadership during trying times. It is strange that he isn't the President and has already become more visible than Bush during this economic crisis. It is extremely unfortunate that some Americans continue to choose divineness and cynicism against Obama. To some people, this is the first time even hearing of the term President Elect! Why is that? Possibly b/c no other President Elect has taken so much of a leadership role as Obama. He is remarkable in his judgments, temperament, leadership, vision, and most of all his integrity. I love him and I will continue to pray that he brings America back on track.

You all have to realize that regardless of who actually won the election, that person would have to emerge as a savior of sorts. Things are so bad economically that in 4 years OR 8 years it will likely be better than it is today. So Obama or McCain OR any of us for that matter...would likely look like a superstar.

Comparing the president-elect to a god, even a false god, is a little overkill don't you think? Mr. Obama hasn't called himself God or anything like that. Just like any other president (or president- elect) this nation has had, he is trying to do what he feels is right for this country. He is appointing officials whose goals are also to help this country. Mr. Obama is doing nothing more than could be expected from a president-elect, despite who was elected.

Why thank you Ann of Caledonia,'s encouraging to know our neighbors to the North are paying attention. It's not just America that is excited and hopeful about our new president, it's the whole world. I believe he is up to the task.

Take it easy on Timothy. It sounds like he may be talking about the Republicans! I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Meanwhile, I'm encouraged by what Obama is doing by putting together top rate teams, working behind the scenes in all areas meeting with top officials, and setting up all phases of his administration.

Timothy, I too worship Christ as my God. But, God gave us a brain to meditate on His word, not to use it for slandering others by poor interpretative work. Peace.
