Obama cabinet vetting historically fast

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="Obama appears to be picking his cabinet at a record pace."]WASHINGTON (CNN) - President-elect Barack Obama is already making presidential history by naming - or at least his transition team is leaking to the press - his Cabinet picks faster than nearly all of his predecessors.

"If we do not act swiftly and boldly, most experts believe that we could lose millions of jobs next year," Obama said Monday.

With an economic crisis spiraling out of control and a lame duck in the oval office, presidential scholars say the next commander in chief simply had no choice.

Watch: Obama cabinet vetting process underway

"This is really unprecedented. But it's an unprecedented situation," said Larry Sabato, a presidential scholar at the University of Virginia. "Obama is doing what the public and the markets demand be done - and that is to show that the next president is really in charge before he even takes the oath of office."

I think he's following the JFK model, choosing the best and the brightest. Or at least the most informed...No one knows more about the 2 wars and the current military situation than Sec Gates. He will get the best information from him if he keeps him on. Candidate Obama stood up to Gen. Petraeus , and I do not believe he will cede his authority to anyone once he becomes president.

The bramble bush is so lame that all he can do is looking silly at the G20 and pardoning a turkey. He even forgot to pardon Chaney and himself for their crimes committed against humanity. Thanks to President-elect Obama, we have some hope that before too long, things will be looking up.

President-elect Obama is doing great job so far handling his Cabinet picks in an expeditious manner. Our country needs his team to be ready on Day One to handle the challenges we face. I trust the Obama administration to deliver a smart, new direction.

    God bless America!

He did not run saying that experience was not important, he ran saying that without judgment, experience means little. Bush being the prime example and McCain supporting him during the campaign with his bad decisions.
I prefer judgment and I prefer smart. For you to claim that Obama is not very smart is...well, not too smart. Whatever hesitation you see is from a man thinking through an answer. From Bush, it was an inability to articulate a response.

Obama Show--Please go away. Your posts show no thought whatsoever.

To all the idiots like Fred who still actually think that Obama was not born in America, let me educate you on some facts. He was born in Hawaii, which is a state in the USA. The same week he was born, Aug 4, 1961, his birth was recorded in the Honolulu Tribune, the local newspaper. If you need to prove that to yourself, log on to the newspaper and for a fee, you can access the archives to have a look. People need to learn how to do a little research on the web or most of them who think like Fred are just way to ignorant to know how to.

Is it true that Constitutionally Sen Clinton is ineligible to be a cabinet pick? Same for Sen Dodd, etc??? Unless "they" do the 'Saxbe fix'??

It's pretty easy to pick cabinet members when all you have to do is say, "Hmmm, who used to work for the Fed, a bank, or Bill Clinton? Oh, that guy? Yea, I want him."

I wonder about those righteous bigots who are comfortable writing their hatred even know that the majority of Americans who voted for PE Obama are apalled at the ignorance of those who cannot get over their racist opinions. Personally, I feel sorry for them and the hatred they carry around with them. Anyone who cannot see Michelle Obvama as the role model for all women has got to have a few missing neurons. I'm thankful
I'm thankful we the people show love and concern instead of hate.

    Then there's instant karma.

People open your eyes and get the Facts! seems a new Trend USSA, Move over USSR, the USSA is moving in! sounds stupid doesn't it? well open your eyes!

I'm glad you brought up the topic of bad judgement. Bad judgement is precisely what Mr. Obama claim disqualified Hillary. Now, he is appointing Mrs Clinton to the SecOfState? Wow, talk about bad judgement. Obama complained about the Iraq war vote during his campaign. Now, he leave Gates in as SecDef, picks Biden (another Iraq Vote goon) and picks Hillary. I see no change in any of his picks. The fact is, he's obviously over his head with the situation that the idiot dems in congress and that moron Bush in the White House is leaving him.

Now we went from the campaign of "hope and change" to "Change in Policy." This two party system has really screwed America.

That's not a Birth Certificate Rob. But I guess as a Obama supporter you are too simple minded to know the difference. Did you know the certificate of Live Birth is not even valid form of ID in Hawaii. Simpleton.
