Has Palin snubbed Oprah?

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="Oprah says she wants Palin on her show."]

(CNN) - Did Sarah Palin snub Oprah Winfrey?

That's what the most popular daytime talk show host and fervent Barack Obama supporter appeared to suggest in a recent interview with the entertainment show Extra.

"I said I would be happy to talk to Sarah Palin when the election was over... I went and tried to talk to Sarah Palin and instead she talked to Greta [Van Susteren]. She talked to Matt [Lauer]. She talked to Larry [King]. But she didn't talk to me.”

Winfrey’s comments came in response to rumors she refused to invite the former vice presidential candidate on her popular daytime show.

Earlier this week, the talk show host announced she will tape her inauguration week show in the nation’s capital, and has rented the Kennedy Center’s lush Opera House – which seats roughly 2,300 — to serve as her studio.

“There are not even words to talk about what this night means,” Oprah said of Obama's inauguration. “Everybody keeps using the word historic — there’s never been a night like this on the planet earth… Nothing can compare to this.”

Sarah, sweetie – This governor job you have, is it a part-time gig? Don't you think the people of Alaska might want you to come home and do your thing? You already took time off to run McCain's campaign into the ground. You then paraded around Georgia – a state 4000 miles away from your place of work, and you are deciding whether or not to grace Oprah? If the State of Alaska is paying you by the hour, then they're getting their money's worth. If you are on salary, I sense some fraud, waste and abuse. Have a nice day, hun.

looks like alot of angry home spun sistas down on sarah palin. she is way to smart to go on tv with a old has been. If there wasn't so many lazy black women sitting at home watching her tv show she would have never gone as far as she has.

This is so stupid because black women make up less than 8 percent of the US population and if you watch Oprah you will see that her audience is mainly white women. Sarah Palin is an idiot who has gotten by on her looks. Even Repubs are starting to dislike her.

Who cares? If this woman went back to Alaska and we never heard of or from her again who would miss her?
She needs to get her life and her family problems in order and go hibernate for the next 50 years or so.

The best Palin revenge: Give her a talk show of her own. Oprah is such a media ho. Give it up, Suzie Winfrey-you're no longer relevant and (still) fat as ever.

On one of her shows, Oprah once said, "When someone shows you who they are, believe them." Oprah showed who she was before the election by having Barack Obama on her show – and refusing to have Sarah Palin on until after the election. In my opinion, Gov Palin shouldn't waste her time with Oprah. We saw who Oprah is, and it wasn't pretty. I don't waste my time on Oprah anymore. No more Oprah show, let the magazine subscription expire, and when I get those goofey emails about "Seen on Oprah," I delete them without opening.

Palin is a lost case. Oprah is famous than Palin. I think many posters here are unable to swallow the fact that a Black Man elected to the highest office of USA.

Oprah is widely accepted as a good AMERICAN, specially by WHITE Americans. The hate mongers are crying for Palin who showed her dumb mind during the campaign. Many idiots shouted "KILL OBAMA" during her campaign. This is the history of a RACIST minded Palin.

Many males are shouting for Palin after they saw her in a swim suit. That is not politics.

If Palin has any ambition to become President of USA, she has to sit with OPRAH and chat!
So – you apparently get all your news from SNL and other so-called comedy shows. Who cares who is more "famous". Worldwide, more people know about Hitler than Oprah – does that make you feel better?
ONE man shouted "kill him" at a rally, but not when Palin was speaking. Not "many", not Palin.
The picture you are referring to was an obvious Photoshop of someone else – not Palin. Only morons believed it was her.
And no, no one "has to sit with Oprah". She is not a king-maker, and never will be, although she thinks she is.
Keep on posting fefe – you make us rednecks look like geniuses!!

Oprah says, ..."there's never been a night like this on planet earth..."

How about the night Jesus was born?

The Lord is a little bigger than a president, wouldn't you say?

"There's never been a night like this on planet earth"..Well, I guess Oprah doesn't think much about Christ's birth. But then, she's too wrapped up in Oprah to think anything else is important.

Those of you bashing Oprah are clearly biased. I'm not a big Oprah fan, but she has every right to have or not have people on HER show. She had Obama on her show BEFORE the presidential campaign NOT DURING the campaign. All of you would have a legitimate criticism if she had Obama on during the campaign. But I'm sure that's not a fact that many of you are interested in acknowledging. It is Palin's right to snub Oprah for not letting her promote herself on Oprah's show. But I really don't think Oprah cares and is probably glad she will not come on the show. And if anyone wants to criticize her because of the PERSONAL value she places on Obama's inauguration, get a life. That is HER opinion and she is entitled to it. You don't have to agree with her.

She knows Oprah will tear her out the frame. Unlike Greta, Hannity and those so call journalist. Palin has her followers (those who just want any breathing woman, not a qualified woman) but Oprah is more intelligent.

I hope she doesn't do the show because that would only keep Palin in the news a little longer. (Sure Oprah's rating would increase) but she is doing fine.

Oprah and Palin are both overrated.

The respectable thing would've been to at least decline the invitation, but because Palin used AVOIDANCE has her response – that clearly tells me she (Palin) is too chicken to face Oprah's (more than likely critical) questions. The attention that interview would get would be astronomical (unlike those other less publicized interviews). Everyone and their mama would tune in to watch Oprah interview Sarah Palin – and I guarantee you it would be ugly! The air would be think with tension, and Sarah would know that no matter how well she answered a question – the host (and editor working for the host) will never look bad and never lose. Sarah Palin on Oprah's show would be a costly mistake for her image and she knows it!

    December 4, 2008 08:24 pm at 8:24 pm |
  24. Who Cares

I don't get it. who really cares. Palin knows exactly what she is doing and nobody really cares. It does not change one thing. If we had vote again she still would be going back to Alaska with no interview on Ophra show. She can't handle pressure.
