Has Palin snubbed Oprah?

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="Oprah says she wants Palin on her show."]

(CNN) - Did Sarah Palin snub Oprah Winfrey?

That's what the most popular daytime talk show host and fervent Barack Obama supporter appeared to suggest in a recent interview with the entertainment show Extra.

"I said I would be happy to talk to Sarah Palin when the election was over... I went and tried to talk to Sarah Palin and instead she talked to Greta [Van Susteren]. She talked to Matt [Lauer]. She talked to Larry [King]. But she didn't talk to me.”

Winfrey’s comments came in response to rumors she refused to invite the former vice presidential candidate on her popular daytime show.

Earlier this week, the talk show host announced she will tape her inauguration week show in the nation’s capital, and has rented the Kennedy Center’s lush Opera House – which seats roughly 2,300 — to serve as her studio.

“There are not even words to talk about what this night means,” Oprah said of Obama's inauguration. “Everybody keeps using the word historic — there’s never been a night like this on the planet earth… Nothing can compare to this.”

I am so glad Palin didn't come on Oprah!!! I wish she would disappear to the backwoods of Alaska!! My brain can't take that silly junk any more!!!! When I see those light heads gasping for air around her, I say, "No wonder America is in such a mess!" Palin is like some bad reality show person re: Bridgette Nielson, Flava Flav, Nee Nee, New York. Everyone's gawking until they get tired of her, then they will toss her aside for the next bubble head doll or the next Legally Blonde I & II, Miss Congeniality I & II incarnation copycat likeSarah Palin. Remember Tyra Banks doll character who came to life?
Airheads can't you all see Sarah Palin is just running the movie star theme to the dunces of America. Throw in Pretty Woman and a few porn and you have Palin's complete mo!!!!! Her speeches are about as good as those scripts!!!! Send Palin to spend some time with John Edwards and Mike Vick!!! She is a worse animal abuser than Mike Vick!!! At least Mike tried to hide his actions. Palin is bold and cold with her action. Where the heck is PETA and all you Vick haters now??? Palin wants to come on Oprah! She is just holding out for more money. She's just doing whatever it takes to get paid now!!!

Thank God Palin regetted operas offer!why would she go on her show to be humiliated?the view attacked sarah palin and macain andcouldn't keep their hands off obama as they said how handsome he was ugh you people have been drinking too much koolaid it is turning your brains to mush. when obama shows his true colors i wonder what you will be thinking and wondering what were you thinking of to vote for him. the medai has been in the tank for obama and they have done nothing to vett him nobody has. the courageous on the blogs and fox news are the only reporters left in america to really be news people who are honest and have integredy for the facts and truth. opera i used to watch you but over the years the woman who made you became no longer necessary so you went to your roots and you changed from a person who was open to everyone and who wanted to empower women to the highest calling that they could be but did you try to foster that on your show you betrayed yourself by not supportting hillary or palin.

Good for you Sarah!!! Oprah needs a reality check! Obama is not the Second Coming of Christ! He's just going to be another president of the U.S.A., not the bloody savior of Planet Earth!

All politicians are alike! They say what the people want to hear to get elected and then do what they want once they're in office. Half of what Obama promised is impossible for him to keep, so get real!

Free speech is one of the things that make the USA GREAT. Hate is NOT! Whether Palin goes on Oprah or Oprah has her opinion of the historical significance of the inauguration is irrelevant. As an educator we try daily to teach children to "play nicely", get along with others, be good listeners, and respect others. We try to teach them to accept those they disagree with or those that are different from them. We try to do this at the same time we teach them the academics, fine arts, and keep them physically fit. This is a 24/7 job that will never "pay" enough monetarily. "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree" and sadly enough our children are repeating the same hate filled comments in our schools.
REAL Americans will help educators teach children good citizenship, as will true believers in the Almighty and non-believers. Great citizens of this GREAT nation will band together and refrain from hate mongering and name calling to make their point. As I read these "comments" I wondered if each person could look in the mirror and be PROUD to teach children what they said in their comment. I can.
For those of you that wish to "tear down" rather than "build up". Try tearing down the walls of hate. It worked in Berlin, it can work in the USA.

Wow, came here and could barely get thru the first 10 comments without feeling like I need a shower, just from all the hate and vitriol.

You know, we could all sit back and learn a lesson from our new President-Elect and that is the lesson of graciousness and generosity towards those who don't share our views. Equanimity can be an example that he sets for the world. I really hate to think that this is read by people around the world who would view us as such childish human beings. We are supposed to be held to a higher standard, so think about your words before you hit that 'submit comment' button, please.

Like it matters... Everyone with a brain knew McCain didn't stand a chance of becoming President after 8 years of Bush's reign of errors. He picked Sarah Palin to be his VP so he could blame her when he lost instead of admitting it was a losing battle to begin with. A typically Republicon move.

    >>>You folks are funny!!! None of you know Alaska, Alaska is the RICHEST STATE of the Union. That's the ONLY state of the Union every man, woman and child received dividend from their oil company annually>>>>>

Hey know what receiving dividents from oil companies mean? Spreading the wealth maybe? or even socialism?
Because that is exactly what Alaska is. It is the only state that actually has socialism , a word that makes people like you sick.
As for Oprah's statement of the most important thing that happened on planet earth and some peoples statements about Jesus birth I have to say that even the invention of sewing is more important than both.

I agree it's historic... but the most historic I don't know...

    Declaration of Independence
    Emancipation Proclamation
    Walking on the Moon
    Discovering Beer
    Discovering Fire (leading to BBQ)

Many great moments in my opinion…

Hmmm. Oprah VERY publicly supported Obama and I'm sure had a strong influence over her mindless sheep to vote for Obama ... so explain to me why Palin would even WANT to go on Oprah? I applaud her for snubbing Oprah

The historical evidence for Jesus Christ is minimal at best...

I don't know if I'd use exactly the words Oprah chose to describe Obama's inauguration, though I'd put a lot more weight on Oprah's existence than the 'Jesus Christ walk-on-water' myth that you seem to believe in. Of course, you're going to tell me, that since it appears in the bible, it must be true...

I know Oprah is sitting home right now just crying her heart out because Palin would not come to her show. Like Oprah cares. Like anyone else cares. I'm glad she didn't go on Oprah. I just want her to go away.

I have more respect and adoration for Sarah now than I did before. Palin 2012. Oprah showed her true colors during this past election. I made a decision to boycott her show and her ego-centric magazine and anything she touches. She is very very over rated. Hollywood is fickle, every one sooner or later looses their popularity and favor of the public, looks like from the above comments Oprah is on her way out. Hooray!!

Oprah what do you expect. You first chose not to interview her citing some strategic reason as not to detract from your own agenda. Well then suck it up. You are not the only thing going so please don't think you are and don't expect people to simply dance to your tune. Its false to some people.

It's good to see that the election changed nothing for most of these posters – they are STILL ignorant and racist, just life before the election. Why does Oprah have to be racist to support a candidate? Is she not an American? Can't she support and vote for a candidate of her choice? Last I checked this was still a free country. Does her celebrity status mean her vote doesn't count? I thought, rather hoped that people who didn't vote for Obama could move on – I see they are mired in their continued racism and stupidity with these continuously ridiculous posts. Get off the computer and go make a difference, for pete's sake!

  17. Get somewhere Sarah!

I'm sure Oprah is losing sleep over not talking to that nim wit, ding bat, able to see Russia from Alaska Sarah Palin. Ms. Palin, is upset because Oprah supported Obama for President. Sarah came on the scene like she was the bomb, but because of her own inexperience did she deplode like an old run down, rat infested building. Nobody wants to hear what she has to say, especially about being an every woman. Sarah, thank you for not wasting the viewers time.

  20. Great!

It's a wonderful day in the neighborhood. Nobody wants to hear anything lil Ms. Sarah has to say. She's angry because Oprah supported Obama during the election, which is her right. No one wants to hear from her anymore, anyways. Hey Sarah, there goes a moose!

The way some here go on about Oprah rejoicing in the election of the first Black American President is truly sad. Some of the statements make me question if their hosing the board for fun, or truly believe what they say.

When and How has Oprah become the voice of America? Cmon. She ripped off everything from Phil Donahue.

Although I am not a fan of Sarah Palin, Oprah did not give her a "fair" chance, especially if she interviewed or met with the other candidates.

It seems unreasonable that Oprah could feel slighted by Sarah Palin now, after Oprah would not allow her on her show during election season (I hope you remember that too!) Going on the show now doesn't help Gov. Palin, it only helps Oprah with a great ratings bonanza, and it helps recoup her image in the eyes of the conservative woman she alienated with her stance on the election. You can't use people only when it's convenient for you Miss Winfrey, sorry.

Gosh!.... Bloggers seem to have some serious issues on here...

My take: Both are right. It would be an abnormally awkward moment to have her on the show. Oprah would have been CAVING to the republican base and compromising her integrity if she had her on the show.

Oh Poor Oprah – she's not used to folks not bowing at her feet. You would think Obama is the 2nd coming.

It's about time someone gave her a piece of humble pie! I can't stand to watch the woman.
