More spending on Palin revealed

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="Spending on Palin's clothes, makeup and hair made headlines during the campaign."]WASHINGTON (CNN) - The Republican National Committee's total fashion bill for Sarah Palin's nine-week stint on the GOP presidential ticket is in: $180,000.

That's $30,000 more than the RNC previously disclosed it had spent outfitting and styling the Alaska governor and her family, according to Politico and the RNC's latest filings with the Federal Elections Commission.

The latest filing, which includes the final 3 weeks of the presidential race, shows the committee directed close to $55,000 to Palin's fashion stylist, New York-based Lisa Kline.

The RNC also spent close to $24,000 in several high end stores, including Ann Taylor, Bloomingdales, Brooks Brothers, Neiman's, Nordstrom, Macy's, Saks, Target, and Victoria's Secret.

The RNC has said all the clothes purchased will be donated to charity.

Meanwhile, the McCain campaign paid a total of $110,000 on Palin's traveling hair and makeup stylists, according to the New York Times and the McCain campaign's latest FEC filing.

News surfaced shortly before Election Day that Republicans had shelled out more than $150,00 on Palin and her family in clothing costs - a revelation that posed an unnecessary distraction for the struggling McCain campaign, and undercut Palin's hockey-mom credentials.

Seriously? Who cares about how much Sarah Palin spent on clothing to begin with. She obviously couldn't go out in front of the public looking like trash! And you morons, go to Victoria's Secret website, and you'll soon find they sell very nice clothing as well that they don't have in the store.

And "soulstar" you might be wearing penny's and Sears, but I highly doubt you are running for United States office either. You would probably upgrade your wardrobe in that case!

What is the big deal on Palin's cloths cost?? Any
research done on cost of Obama family cloths, or where they were bought?? I bet they didn't come from Wall Mart!

I'm curious how much of the money that was spent at Victoria's Secret was for Bristol . . . Do they make skanky maternity clothes?

Who cares! Where is the liberal media when it comes to how much The Chosen One has spent on his lavish parties and such?

Times must be really tough if Target is now a high-end store.

They should have used the $180,000 to have her keep her ignorant yap shut and not be seen in public. Spend the $180,000 on education for the ignorant fool.

Since when is Target a high end store? Did they put one up on fifth avenue?

Also, who cares? The only thing that matters is she is no longer on the campaign trail, stop talking about her. She lives in Alaska and knows barely a thing about what's going on with the rest of the country. People didn't vote for her this year they won't vote for her in 2012. How is this still relevant?

Sarah Palin never asked for clothes for her or her family. If the RNC decided to buy them so be it.....She is an exciting, brilliant, honest, REAL politician who also happens to be beautiful and would look good in a potato sack! Why don't you start writing about her ideas and what she has done for Alaska instead of being "chauvinist pigs" and writing about her clothes. No one talks about how Obama afforded his suits, what he wore, or where they are from??? I hope the State of IL didn't pay for them because he hasn't done a darn thing for us!

well, i guess now that palin's campaign fashion spending is back in the news, that must mean there is nothing else important happening in this country or the rest of the world. some people have a strange idea about what is really important -- i could have sworn we were in the middle of a financial crisis – i guess that's been resolved.

Why is this question never asked to a man? How much does a man spend on a suit, shirt, tie, shoes, etc? I'm guessing Mitt Romney spent way more than Palin ever did, but no one ever reported. I'm pretty sick of the double standard for women!

Fashion stylist? They PAID someone to help her pick out clothes? She was a beauty contestant for goodness sake! I bet she knows that purple and orange don't go together or you shouldn't wear black shoes with a brown skirt!

    Who truly cares?

Get over Sarah Palin and her family already.

She should be forced to fork over half this bill (the half spent on her family themselves as they weren't campaigning). Tell me who in the world uses Victoria Secret clothes for going to political office?

The GOP are out of their minds! There is no reason on this planet ANYONE needs $180,000 worth of make over and clothes! No one.

Donate the clothes to charity? Which charity? More likely an auction house that sells 'clothes of the rich and famous'. You won't find any Goodwills or Salvation Army putting these clothes on their shelves. Even they would know a good thing when they saw it and it would end up somewhere high end making more money.

CNN, GOP and those that still even care what this woman says, does, presents – get over it. The world wants to forget the worst and nastiest campaign in the history of the US. You want the US to again have the world against them, keep putting this person in the spotlight! Won't take long for the rest of the world to remember exactly which country started several wars and has the worst President in the history of the world. Nor the party he came from.

I'm sure we would rather see her in jeans and a turtle neck from old navy right? Give me a brake, those mens suits I'm sure are more expensive!

If this is to be discussed any further, then a follow-up question should ask how much Michelle Obama's one day Inaugural Ball is going to cost.

It occurs to me that SOMEONE will get a pretty nice tax deduction receipt for donating $150K+++ worth of clothes to charity. The RNC? Ms Palin? Meanwhile, ALL taxpayers will be paying for that, not just Republicans!!
