Palin didn't snub Oprah, spokesman says

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="Palin didn't snub Oprah, a spokesman said."](CNN) – Sarah Palin's camp is denying claims she's is snubbing talk show host Oprah Winfrey, telling CNN Monday the decision was "nothing personal" - the Alaska governor has just been flooded with so many media requests she simply hasn't had the time to sit down with the daytime talk show icon.

“The governor was invited to appear. She was also invited to appear on Letterman, Leno, Stephanopoulos, The Daily Show. She passed on a vast majority of these requests," Bill McAllister, Palin's communications director and press secretary.

"We’re up to about 250 requests for interviews and appearances and so on. It’s worldwide, there’s still a tremendous amount of interest. It’s nothing personal about Oprah, it’s just that she turned down the vast majority of these requests."

A Palin appearance at a later date is still possible, said McAllister: “I’m not aware that it’s been ruled out.”

Winfrey - the popular daytime talk show host and strong Barack Obama supporter - seemed to suggest last week that Palin was deliberately avoiding her show.

"I said I would be happy to talk to Sarah Palin when the election was over…" she said in an interview with the entertainment show Extra. "I went and tried to talk to Sarah Palin and instead she talked to Greta [Van Susteren]. She talked to Matt [Lauer]. She talked to Larry [King]. But she didn't talk to me.”

Winfrey’s comments came in response to rumors she'd refused to offer an invitation to the former vice presidential candidate.

Palin should spend her time in graduate school learning about international relations if she wants to be a serious contender.

The outrage against her is rooted in her lack of preparedness for the international scene.

  2. Have you seen Oprah lately????

She's put on 50 lbs. and is enormous-she's back to wearing those moo moo dresses again--bringing Sarah Barracuda on the show will only emphasize how huge Oprah looks--

Who cares? If it wasn't for looks, Palin would be a whinney nobody! Is America really that shallow? I hope that we wise up by 2012?

Is it possible that it really doesn't matter? I 'd rather not see her on any show. I'v seen all that I need to see and hear of her. She's really not a piece of news to me. She just needs to go back to school and learn about the world and how to form sentences. Maybe then she would make better day time and evening talk show material.

It's in Sarah Palin's interest to stay away from interviews until she and her team are sure she doesn't hurt herself. Palin has a lot at stake if she is going to make any serious run for the GOP nomination in 2012 and everyone knows she didn't have the greatest interviews during the campaign.

Oprah was simply responding to rumors that she snubbed Palin. This is not big news and shouldn't make the headlines. Unfortunately, it has and getting air time when the reality is Palin is not "hot news" currently.

Palin should snub her. She snubbed Palin before the election, though she had hosted the others. Typical media bias in this election

Well Oprah is not going to buy her and her family any clothes and she may ask what did the sporting goods store and Victoria Secret have to do with the campaign. And Oprah just might ask did the GOP really have to buy her some underwear that is disgusting.

This is an issue because Republican women wanted to boycott Oprah for not having her on. Where were all the "who cares" and "so what" when that story initially broke?

Do you really think someone cares or do you just put these here to let us give you heck. A good number of us are sick of Sarah Palin and a lot of us don't care much for Oprah either. Save this kind of junk for Entertainment Tonight or some show like that.

little susie, You stated the following: "Obama's not even Prez yet, and he's out there working hard on an economic recovery plan, etc. What is Palin worried about?–which TV show to be on. This, folks, is definitely a no-brainer."

Let me help you, That is because Obama is the President Elect and Palin is not the President. He should be getting ready to run this country.

What are your expectations of Palin? To line up people for key Washington positions? Work on a economic recovery plan?

That to me sounds like a job for the Pres Elect not a citizen.

Hey Oprah ask her did she really have an affair with her husbands best friend and did the GOP fix her up at Vic Secret for their own personal reason. How does it matter what she wear under the clothes they already purchased. Look at the ttv footage her family is still carrying those designers purses that were left in the belly of the plane.

Of course Palin only wants to appear where everyone adores her. Why not, she can then give the illusion that she is somebody when in fact she's on a bridge to nowhere!

Palin must see Oprah as one of the media elitist. I don't expect that she would let Barbara Walters interview her either. After all Barbara has interview every politian still alive. If that's not a media elite, I don't know what is!!

Liberals are deathly afraid of Palin. 24/7 after she was announced it has been biased attacks and snubs by people like Oprah. Why wouldn't Oprah give her an hour live to tell her story like she did with Obama? Fair question i think.

Of course Palin would decline Oprah. Oprah would want straight answers in complete sentences. Palin can not handle that!

    Oprah's for old people.

Choose Tyra if you have to choose.

She's more daring, interesting, open-minded and youthful.

    Like you!

Governor Palin doesn't need Oprah. Oprah is just an over-paid TV gossip. Palin has a state to run & interview requests from all over the world. Palin is a rising star, but Oprah is a falling one.
