Palin didn't snub Oprah, spokesman says

[cnn-photo-caption image= caption="Palin didn't snub Oprah, a spokesman said."](CNN) – Sarah Palin's camp is denying claims she's is snubbing talk show host Oprah Winfrey, telling CNN Monday the decision was "nothing personal" - the Alaska governor has just been flooded with so many media requests she simply hasn't had the time to sit down with the daytime talk show icon.

“The governor was invited to appear. She was also invited to appear on Letterman, Leno, Stephanopoulos, The Daily Show. She passed on a vast majority of these requests," Bill McAllister, Palin's communications director and press secretary.

"We’re up to about 250 requests for interviews and appearances and so on. It’s worldwide, there’s still a tremendous amount of interest. It’s nothing personal about Oprah, it’s just that she turned down the vast majority of these requests."

A Palin appearance at a later date is still possible, said McAllister: “I’m not aware that it’s been ruled out.”

Winfrey - the popular daytime talk show host and strong Barack Obama supporter - seemed to suggest last week that Palin was deliberately avoiding her show.

"I said I would be happy to talk to Sarah Palin when the election was over…" she said in an interview with the entertainment show Extra. "I went and tried to talk to Sarah Palin and instead she talked to Greta [Van Susteren]. She talked to Matt [Lauer]. She talked to Larry [King]. But she didn't talk to me.”

Winfrey’s comments came in response to rumors she'd refused to offer an invitation to the former vice presidential candidate.

If she plans on a presidential run, she shouldn't burn ANY bridges...including Oprah! It's never a good idea...would probably work when she's retiring from politics.

Everyone loves to eyeball a train wreck, which is why Palin is still such a media draw. The woman is a loon.

I hope she doesn't appear on Oprah show. It's too good for Sarah palin, better people need to be on the show. Sarah Palin is too dumb to answer questions from Oprah.

Wow... couldn't even get through the comments posted here, due to all the liberal hatred.

What is it about the liberla point of view that makes it coincide so often with intolerance?

I just hope there's plenty of warning that she's going to be on Oprah or any other show, so I can be sure not to watch it.

    Lilarose in Bandon, Oregon WROTE:

Sarah, go HOME, have a set of quintuplets or something, maybe that will keep you in Alaska.

I am so sick of this bimbo."

OH MY, thank you for the laugh. You MUST be an Obama apologizer/promoter with that kind of projecting!

Honey, she is home. You know the place everyone is calling for these interviews, Alaska, the STATE, that she is Governor of?

It looks like the only BIMBO is you. But you must think you're the smart one making such idiotic remaks, unlike the smart one you're accusing who is the BEST rated Governor in our country.

Palin does not owe Oprah anything. Simply because she is a billionare does not mean everybody is at her beck and call. If Sarah Palin was not worthy to be on her show during the election, why does she all of the sudden want her now?

Of course she didn't snub Oprah. If you read what Oprah said, it's clear Oprah was using this opportunity to snub Palin. Oprah's excuse that she didn't have palin on befor election day because she wanted to stay out of politics is absurd since she had Obama on. So much for integrity.

Ms. Palin figured she'd get more public response by NOT appearing on Oprah-
How many past elections have we had where were still talking about the "losing" VP candidate a month AFTER the election ?!?!?

Folks lets keep in mind how Oprah snubbed Palin. I know that Oprah, will be upset that there is one person in Ameriaca who can live her life without Queen Oprah giving her advice on how to live a perfect life. HA.

Oprah snubbed Palin, Palin snubbed Oprah.

Who cares what Oprah thinks should be one her show? She is an entertainer who has a very inflated opinion of her self. No one owes Opran anything and those yolkels here who put Palin down are pathetic. Alaska has a 2008 budget of $9 trillion and income of $11 trillion the only of 50 states not in financial hurt–she must be one heck of a leader! Oprah has earned he money crying to liberal women to stupid or lazy to make it in the real world so they sit home watching TV.

Why does Oprah consider herself among serious news men and women like Greta, Larry, Wolf, and Matt. Clearly there's a difference and clearly Palin had good reason for doing their interviews and not the Oprah show. I mean, please.

I wish that people would stop talking about Sarah Palin and let her get back to Alaska to take care of her state and her children. She does not need to be placed in the limelight and made to feel that the general public cares about her and what she has to say/do. She is not that important!

    Give it a break...

I think its you that is delusional. Palin has only appeared and done fluff interviews with hosts that already back her. I agree with SAT that she needs to go on shows like meet the press and face real questions, not this sugar coated malarky she gets asked by republican mouth from Fox news. Until the woman will continue to be viewed as being a joke.
