(CNN) - Enemies of President Bush take heed: Karl Rove is set to name names.
The man widely credited with Bush's two presidential victories says his new book will include an accounting of those in Washington who never accepted the president as a legitimate commander-in-chief.
"I've got behind-the-scenes episodes that are going to show how unreceiving they were of this man as president of the United States," Rove told Cox News in an interview published Sunday. "I'm going to name names and show examples."
Rove signed a deal with publishing giant Simon & Schuster last year, reported be worth over $1.5 million.
In the wide-ranging interview, Rove also suggested the criticisms the president and his aides took were partly because they were not part of the Washington establishment.
"You'll notice there was outrage when it was thought that I was the person behind outing Valerie Plame. And then when it came out that it was the sainted [Deputy Secretary of State] Richard Armitage, there was no interest," Rove said. "I don't remember seeing anybody camped out on his doorstep like they were camped out on mine. [It's]because he was part of the acceptable culture of Washington, and I was not. I was one of those Texans who came up. He was one of those perpetual I'll-scratch-your-back-if-you'll-scratch-mine Washington leakers. "
Let me know if you're not sure how to spell my name.
He knows he's guilty – that's why he's trying to spew information. This stunt will NOT let Karl Rove off the hook.
War crimes tribunal... war crimes tribunal – WAR CRIMES TRIBUNAL!!
I've got behind-the-scenes episodes that are going to show how unreceiving they were of this man as president of the United States
Wait, you mean there were people in Washington who didn't think W was worthy of respect?
Say it isn't so! 😉
Rove is just trying to drum up book sales by threatening to tell us what we already know.
Karl, you've worked long and hard to earn your reputation as a scummy, underhanded political operative, and then you whine because you're the prime suspect when something scummy and underhanded happens while you're in town.
Surely, you can't possibly be THAT naive.
Oh Wahhhhh. You reap what you sow. People who are not stupid know that the 2004 election was stolen. That handing over billions of dollars to two guys who worked at a failed bank and not asking for transparency or even a spreadsheet, or accounting sheet of what exactly is being spent where and etc. not having someone who double checks to make sure there is no pilfering is a sure fire sign that whoever is handling things from the top is NOT tuned in. So stop the whining Carl. You won't be living in HUD housing or collecting food stamps or flying sign so stop your insipid whining.
Diana @ 12 p.m.: "Good for Rove ….let them have it….lots of people cant stand (don't want to use the word hate} Polosi ……hope shes in there too"
Diana, you're an idiot. First of all, everyone already knows that Pelosi (not Polosi) doesn't like Bush, so why would it be a miraculous thing if she were named in the book. THINK, STUPID, THINK!
Second, while Pelosi may not be very popular, I'm pretty sure that Karl Rove is more universally despised.
Carl Rove is his biggest enemy.
I would think being included on Rove's "enemies list" would be as great an honor for those thus distinguished as once were those so esteemed to have been included on Richard Nixon's. Times change, but tyrants are always to be defended against.....
A threat like this is only effective if you still have power.......need i say more?
George Carlin said something like, "When you're born in America, you have a front row seat at a freak show." ... starring Karl Rove!
It doesnt matter if you are a Washington outsider or a Washington insider, a Democrat or a Republican or an Independent. It's about the QUALITY OF THE PERSON. It's about hiring a well-rounded able body who is able to provide judgment, vision and patience to propel us to the 21st Century.
Uh, Karl, baby. As a political operative, you're right up there with ...oh, let's see, Atwater comes to mind. You are brilliant – I mean, you had them stick that "marriage" question on the ballet of 18 midwestern states during the '04 presidential elections, right? neat trick – guaranteed to pull those puppies into your pile.
Anyhoo, add my name to your list of those who never acknowledged bushie 2 as her President of these United States since '00. Want a cracker to go along with that wine of yours? On second thought, you could stand to lose a bit around the middle – try some sugar-free kool-aid. Thanks, pup.
they didn't accept Bush? Imagine that!
I hope he names names soon.. I'll start writing a thank you note to each one he names.
He's serving up some pretty stinky cheese with that whine. Karl Rove & Dubya, outsiders? Give me a break!
After authoring one of the most disastrous presidencies in US History, I can't imagine that Rove will be winning any victories. No amount of "straightening" with save his record.
Who gives a FF what this traitorous slipknot has to say. He divided and played the country for all it was worth. When his good buddy had the entire country behind the presidency after 9-11 he had Bush and the GOP politicize the terrorist threats and used it as a huge club to hammer the 2002 election cycle and the war vote.
Rove...you are a turdblossom. Out of who's backside, one can only guess.
Why is CNN plugging Rove's book?
This man should be behind bars, as should Bush and Cheney. If anyone in Washington saw Bush as an illegitimate President, it is only because of his stunning incompetency in regard to EVERYTHING he and his administration did. The Bush administration has brought our nation to the brink of collapse and destroyed our integrity around the world. History will look upon all of them with scorn- and rightfully so!
Who cares what Rove thinks or who he names. He is out and a new regime is coming in. He is a very vindictive and petty man and has been throughout his entire career. I hate to break the news to him, but not only did many of those in Washington never accept the president as a legitimate commander-in-chief, neither did a large part of Americans. Just as I am sure there are a group of folks out there today who will never accept Obama as a legitimate commander-in-chief. President Bush has the lowest approval ratings in history and the economy is in shambles and the U.S.A. is a joke in the world community. Please name names so I can thank those individuals for recognizing the Bush regime for what it was a waste of 8 years with no positive legacy left behind; just a huge deficit and thousands of our military personnel dead. Well I can say one positive thing, Bush was the best thing to happen to the Democratic party, he certainly helped to get a lot of republicans voted right out of office because they followed his narrowed minded visions.
Thanks KARL, new American heros to laud
Why don't you do something more productive. Like name names of those that have commited crimes in the current administration. Oops, that would mean your name would be on the top of that list. Take a hike! Its people like you that caused me to vote Democrat this election.
Why hasn't this man been convicted of treason yet? And why would anyone listen to him now?
I know this guy is a slimeball but I do get what he says about the culture in DC and who the favored people are. They just recycle in different positions. look at george W's first cabinet and now look at Obama's. Retreads of insiders. Not to mention a bunch of crooks.
All I can say is THANK YOU Mr. Rove, you are going to tell us the truth!
I would have to ask Mr. Rove if there is enough room in his book to list all the Americans who so ran down President Bush for how long now?
I can't wait to read this book, hope that publisher is working overtime to get it on the market so we know the truth
"The man widely credited with Bush's two presidential victories says his new book will include an accounting of those in Washington who never accepted the president as a legitimate commander-in-chief."
Note to Karl: it would be easier to write a book including the names of those who DID accept the president as a legit CIC.
